I get that this line is intended to draw in new builders, but Bandai would make an absurd amount of money if they did grunt suits in this style. I know the fine build grunts are similar ish, but I bet this price point and simplicity would make army-building incredibly appealing to some customers who may otherwise avoid it

Man, where's the EG Zaku II? That's a perfect army-builder kit for the price!
Or an EG GM. Heck, if Bandai continues this trend of making Wing or G Gundam kits we might even get an EG Leo or Death Army. I highly doubt they’ll actually make this, but an EG Wing Zero Custom would be way past cool.
i don't think they would since they just released the revive but a eg zaku 1 would be sick especially since they wouldn't have to worry about rubber tubing
As far as i know that eg kit is for main protagonist ms and rx 78,strike and nu is the most popular gundam design in japan
@@petrusdimitrilarantukan7678 Granted, they are popular but a Gundam line wouldn't be great without other mobile suits. You can only do hero suits for so long without the EG series going stale. Basically, Bandai's leaving money on the table without some variety.

Not that i hate if bandai make one i would absolutely love if they do but i just didn't see the reason why would they released an eg zaku ii
This kit looks exciting. Between this, the RX EG and the upcoming Nu RG this line is getting good. Now for some ZEON EG kits

@@kidrobot. yes. Price, the value, the potential for getting new builders into the hobby, great place to start working on new skills, paint, paneling, scribing ect…I guess the potential is what I’m excited about. The actual kit is basic for sure

Bandai don't make model kits any more, they make tiny plastic mic drops.
My friend gifted this to me for my B-day; it looks like Entry Grade is the new "low-end" HG after all. After seeing the vid, I'm glad they gifted this to me, looks seriously fun
Can't wait to get this. I love testing color options with the entry grade line.
Excellent video! Gonna be painting for the first time ever and gonna use this guy as a sacrificial piece. I'm certain it's gonna look awesome though.

This model kit is epic. Gundam are so cool Robot suits
I love that todays kids and starters can easily get into gunpla without getting intimidated by so many extra things to do anymore with the details of a modern high grade with half the price.
back then it was the "First Grade" and not only it barely has any details, only its arms,legs and head move so its basically a statue
This was my first Gundam build. A lot of fun! He now sits next to my bed and wields my phone cable sometimes 😂
the other release did come with the combat knives though but lacked the rifle and shield.
6:25 I’m pretty sure a good amount of people broke the ball from the waist by doing that on the EG RX-78-2
now to await the pbandai remould of this into the Strike Rouge and, hopefully, the Strike Rouge Kira Yamato Custom

WOW, I had the original HG Aile Strike and it pales in comparison to this whether it's colour correct parts or design. I remember shield was yellow stickers, the v fin I had to paint, eyes, shoulders were solid white. And this is entry-grade too like whut!?!?! How far has Gundam kits come!?

That would be cool. I couldn't hear the video because of no speakers at work so I watched it with subtitles. I wonder if you can attach the HG packs to it. It might be a cheaper option than going the pbandai route for people if it would be a pbandai release.

i wonder if theyll ever put this much care in color separating future SD kits (oh wait they did but the sdcs line is dead now)
The EG Strike is the best kit for having a 1/144 Aile Strike version using Aile Strike from the HGCE Aile Strike kit.
The Aile Striker is light so the EG Strike can hold it as is.
While the HGCE kit is the best kit to use for Perfect Strike version, using the HG Sword and Launcher Striker from the HG Perfect Strike kit because the HGCE Aile Striker kit doesnt have the torso bend.
I've got this on pre-order, was meant to arrive in Feb but still waiting.
My dream is that bandai releases some eg grunt suits from Universal Century and Cosmic Era
Better head than the hg version, no eye stickers
agreed. as for the head the only thing bad from this is you cant light up the kit (no clear plastic for eyes)
It might not be lore accurate, but how about different color schemes based on the striker pack attacked like what the Impulse Gundam did when it changed packs

The head of this one is way more detailed and better color-separation than the HGCE...

Just got mine. Unfortunately it has a floppy torso/ waist connection and right leg.
Looks better than the hg, might get this instead and just buy a second hand strike packs

I just finished building mine and it's a bit underwhelming. HGCE ver is still a better kit tho.
And I bought 3 copies so I'll paint one of them into PS deactive mode color scheme.

Only thing I didn't like about this kit was that the handle on the shield is not functional, unlike the RX-78-2 EG.

@@ZakuAurelius yeah, the bagged version came with the armour Schneiders, and nothing else. The full package version (boxed) comes with the shield and gun.

Does the box say you don't need nippers? What kind of nubs do you get left with if you do that? They are trying hard to make me lazy, lol.

Toom you long enough. Sadly it still uses 1 peg hole backpack connection we need sold seperately strike packs not the build ones official ones or atleast adapters

While it's an impressive kit in its own right, I'm pretty sure the HGCE would be priced similarly if it didn't come with the aile striker, beam sabers, etc.
The fact that the HGCE still holds up almost a decade later is pretty impressive; compared to the EG, it still has better shoulders, elbows, hips, a better rifle, and metallic blue stickers for the cameras. While the EG beats it in some areas, they're roughly equal overall.
I do like having the light package version as an excuse to display a strike gundam with the armor schneiders though. It always felt like a waste with the aile strike.
