    The Helios has really grown on me over time. It's kinda brilliant how the Helios is a kitbash but looks original at the same time. Hopefully Bandai reissues the HGAW Gundam X and X Divider soon, my tiny X collection desperately needs more units and I'm not paying $100+USD for two early 2010's HGs

    • @HobbyClubhouse

      Man, are the X and Divider being scalped that badly? Though they really haven't been reprinted for a long time. I kinda want a Divider myself, love that Divider shield

    I am a proud owner of the Helios after becoming a fan of the Artemis from the Gundam Breaker Mobile game. Honestly, I thought the upside-down Freedom wings were kinda wonky and preferred the Destiny wings from the Areus, but after building it and posing it...they kinda grew on me. As for the clear parts, I used a chrome marker to paint behind the clear parts and they now catch the light beautifully.
    I have no regrets getting this.

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The wings actually help out when posing on an action base so they do add to the kit (when they aren't toppling the poor guy over).
      I bet the clear parts on the shoulders especially benefit from having chrome paint backing it up

    • @Xolivas1
      @Xolivas1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HobbyClubhouse Oh yeah they really do, specially the large clear part in the chest. The result kinda reminds me of what Bandai did with their MG Gundam AGE kits, putting a chrome sticker behind a clear blue piece to help them shine.

    Do you plan on getting all the models from this series? Kinda interested in that Commando Quant, and to know if the four "recolors" kits do have renewed joints or are just the old kits with a new coat.
    Overall not a fan of Battlogue being a V-fin fiesta, if everyone has a gundam, then the gundam isn't special anymore.

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm surely not going to get the recolored kits, though I don't know if they're even retail products outside America (they're PBandai in Japan)
      My money is on the kits being straight recolors without updates, because of course Bandai would do that

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think for handling, I like the wings pointing down 100% of the time. But ultimately, I think the upturned wings gives the Helios a very strong character - even though it doesn't work as a physical object...

  • @bahamut_the_warrior
    @bahamut_the_warrior 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I used to think the upside down wings looked tacky, but I’ve grown to think that they actually look better! I think seeing the product images from the Bandai hobby website and also videos of the model, I’ve gained more respect for it. Same with the LiveLance and the blazing(??) Gundam

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The kit looks a bit better too in person than in pictures and videos. The large wings feel more ridiculous looking at them from afar. As a thing you can hold, they're a bit fun to pose, I gotta admit

    It's a beauty but I had to glue the torso to the waist, I'm not a fan of the ball connecting piece cause the bottom half always falls off.
    Blows me away on how perfectly balanced this model is for being so top heavy.

    Glad to see your back with a review of a nice kit, I honestly did expect this to be a massive kitbash but seems like Bandai decided to put more effort here so that's neat

      Tons of stuff to sort of so my uploads have been (even more) chaotic recently!

    I feel like it comeing to the us first is due to it being based on the us only game gundam breaker mobile which use to be gundam battle gunpla warfare (iv had it since its launch) and being released to the rest of the world later as people get aquatinted to them via the anime then they get this kit line to build

  • @KyBa_19
    @KyBa_19 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    A couple of pointers. I think the Helios, areus and Artemis never used the handles for the cannons, as for articulation it has a tiny drop down gimmick in the waist, giving a bit more range in leg movement. I don’t know why Bandai didn’t include it in the manual🤷🏻‍♂️. As for removing the gems in the forearm it may vary from kit to kit since mine can be removed easily. I think it’s better to use a thin plastic card to remove those gems.

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The gems on the arms are ironically so well made, they fit really flush with the bottom piece - which is supposed to be good. A thin card would work too indeed if you thin the very edge of it. Good to know it's easier to take off on some kits though, because I like that shield so much

  • @kaiz1845
    @kaiz1845 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    lmao you hit the nail on the head when you say that this kit is for builders. On it's own, the baby blue of this kit and its protagonist looking-shape are really jarring with Destiny's clearly villain head, but if you take it apart, it can enhance a whole bunch of other kits. And, fun fact, with VERY minimal modifications, you can give this kit's shoulders to the HGCE Destiny.

    seam lines and mold parting lines, would be nice to see if a kit is painting-prep friendly

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is indeed something I don't always cover. For parting lines, if it's not mentioned in the video then it probably wasn't anything egregious - Bandai kits barely have them except for cylindrical pieces that use multi-part molds. The accuracy of their molds and the precision of the injection pressure is no joke
