    what i like to do in my bioactive breeding bins is add a bowl of water and place a piece of homemade lumpwood charcoal into it... it is a good place for springtails to breed on as it always will be humid at that spot and it gives the roaches something to hold onto while drinking so they don't drown. plus it might absorb some unwanted chemicals from the water overtime...

    I like to use substrate instead of just plastic as ground because I have dermestid beetles and I think I have about 3,000 inside the tub and about 250 nymphs and I put the egg crates upright so that I don’t have to keep replacing them so often and I put some water crystals and dubia diet in their enclosure and their population exploded but I use a heat lamp of course with a thermostat so I went with a little bit of an expensive route but it’s been working since last year

      These can easily be your main staple for your chameleon as long as they are fed a lower protein diet as feeding high protein to the dubias can cause gout in the reptile if fed regularly. But if they are fed well they are one of the best feeders for most insectivore reptiles

I just gave up and kept them as pets till i fed them off 🤣. Oh and i dont have reptiles for there heat either

      Honestly, I live in temps of 65-78 year-round (due to A/C and heat settings in the house), and I don't put any heat on them- they acclimated and now would likely be invasive if they got out; but, I don't heat them, and they're fine. I make sure they're in a black bin, with CLEAN egg crates (bought for this purpose so they have no toxins), and give them plenty of fresh food veggies and scraps and they love it and are breeding like crazy (I don't do oranges all the time, as it can give the lizards gout).

      He said the roach chow he made from grounded up dog food then he added stuff can’t remember what he added fiber of sorts but I also read dog food is high protein when given to the reptile and can cause gout so look into it

    I got 5 males and like 30 females still waiting for somebody to get pregnant I got a heat mat on one end I got veggies and greens and water crystals on the other end got egg crates on the warm side got a dark plastic bin with tiny air holes drilled on top and a screen for the floor so their poop falls through to another plastic bin that has a puppy pad so it’s nothing to clean up but they’re still not producing do I just wait?

      How long have they been adults, takes about 2 weeks after final moult to become sexually mature. Then pregnant for a month before first litter pops out. Female will absorb the babies is she feels the environment isn't good enough to substain the babies. Check humidity. Temps and amounts or both dry and moist food . There the common reasons a female won't lay

    Would you feed your non-dog pet, dog biscuits?? No?? So why tf are you feeding your feeders dog biscuits????? Thats called "common sense"

    • @NORTHERNEXOTICS
      @NORTHERNEXOTICS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most fruit and veg go in the bugs and out of the bugs faster then there body can absorb nutrition . Plus no protein in fruit or veg. How do you expect a bearded dragon to get protein if your not giving him any?

    • @2Ls615
      @2Ls615 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NORTHERNEXOTICS the bugs mate the f*****n bugs have protein in them. Gut loading is a thing because its real. What you put into your feeders goes into your animal. Which is why we give the bugs healthy food like potatoes, oranges, grapes, mustard greens, etc. Dog biscuits arent even healthy for a dog bro. And ALL fruit and veggies have protein even if its just small amounts. You really should do more research. You have a decent following base. You should be EDUCATING them and not INFLUENCING them.

      A quick search result says "Dog biscuits are a hard, dry, dog food product, typically composed of protein, carbohydrates, fat, and fiber. " The bag displayed in the video also says, the dog biscuits have other vitamins and minerals as well.
      The roach chow that the video shows, clearly also has other food besides only ground-up dog biscuits. And the video says it uses other types of fodo as well, not just dog biscuits.
      So I don't understand why you're going all up in arms about this.
