I have the same bin you have in this video. The baby dubia can crawl up the walls easily. I need a new bin.😱

Babies do climb up a bit, but they never make it to the top and out. You can put Vaseline around the top inner edge and that will prevent them too fyi

I got a colony and feeders from them and I was really impressed with their customer service and the quality of their bugs. Michelle answered all my questions by email and gave me so much education. I am on my way!! Thanks guys! I will be buying more feeders in the months and years ahead! Gail

As far as overcoming that problem of getting the roaches out when you glue the cartons together, what about tying them with string maybe top n bottom, rubber bands, tight enough so they don't come apart but not tight enough so they get crushed? Or even put a string through the top corners so they'll be like a hinge when you need to open them.

Hey Richard 👋 well we most likely wouldn't find that helpful because we are breeders and sort pretty often. I think gluing them or tying the cartons together would just frustrate us. If you try it, let us know how it goes 😀

I 3d printed basic crate shaped housing that snaps together so it pop apart easily for harvesting and cleaning. I bought a portable dishwasher for 120$ at Menards and use it to wash housing and food and water containers

I have debated on altering the design in the program to change the "door" sizes in the housing which would in theory filter the bugs by size at least somewhat. Small doors to start and filters wider and wider through walls to keep the Bigs separated

Costs me maybe like 3$ to print the housing so it's super cost effective

I just have an open bin. With a heat pad under. However I have discoids since dubia are illegal here. Also I have seen a decent way to separate them. Card board wall. Put in between the cartons to keep them separate and still looking neat. Open top is nice too.

Nice. Thanks for sharing 👍 We prefer enclosures with covers but there are people who do their bins like you. We have thousands of roaches and so we need tops. Thanks for watching!
