As soon as your dragon or other insect eating lizard is big enough to eat superworms, life gets alot easier. Superworms are easy to set up, care for, and they last a LOOOOONG time. Superworm frass is a great soil amendment for gardens. Unlike high nitrogen compost like chicken manure, worm frass will not burn up plants if it is applied directly to them.

I'm so glad for this. I keep seeing people using grains and I've used grain in the past, but I have had grain mites for such a nightmare. Thank you for mentioning wood shavings!
I use wood shavings for mine too! I’m never using oats again,due to those horrid mites.

i can never picture superworms crawling up a ceramic bowl to get food, isnt that too slippery? I really dislike the idea of chemical water gel. Love the father/daughter cooperation and the solid southern energy.
If you're really allergic to the frass then you should be wearing a respirator rather than a cheap dust mask, the difference can be night and day.

That's a really interesting take on super worm care and I'll have to try it out. I've been battling pantry moths every time I've kept super worms on oatmeal, so this should certainly help with that problem. Are the pine shavings safe for insects, though? I know that a lot of animals develop rashes or get sick, or even die from prolonged exposure to pine or cedar wood, and I know they repel certain insects. So I just wanted to confirm its safety before using pine shavings myself.

Do you have a video on how to clean the colony and how often?
Speaking of insects drowning in shallow water. Had placed meal worms on dragons plate of greens. There was a thin layer of water on the plate and some how the water wrapped around the warm and drowned it while out of the water.

Hi there .. I am so happy to have found your videos..they are so helpful. I am struggling with my bearded dragon and I am hoping you can help me. This is my 2nd bearded dragon.. I have had him for about a month or so..he is around 7 months old. He is mean..
Every time I enter his cage he attacks me.. and don't even think about holding him without a glove. His mouth remains open..his neck turns black. When I try to change out his food dish he bites.. lunges at me or the dish. He has caught me a couple of times and drew blood..hence the glove. Can you advise me as to what I can do.
I really enjoy the dragons..we had so much fun with the last one.
We were able to let him run about the house..and let him go out to the back yard and run about.
is there an issue using pine shavings when you are feeding the superworms to your bearded dragon. I was told no pine around my dragon at all.

How long can those water gels stay good in the jar for after you mix it?
How the superworms reach the food and water in the bowls if they are in the beddings? Is it difficult for them to crawl first to egg trays then jump into the bowl of food and water separately?

I have a juvenile dragon. I’m feeding him 10 roaches and 10 superworms a day. He prefers roaches but I can’t afford to buy any more than 200 a month. So I feed him these twenty bugs five days a week along with salad greens. Is this enough?

It is a fine wood shavings. You CAN use oatmeal, but the worms will poop in it if you use for a substrate. We like to keep the kitchen seperate from the bathroom if you know what I'm sayin...

About how many superworms is sufficient for an adult bearded dragon per feeding?
I have a 20 gallon beardie tank I got from petsmart,what length and watts uvb light do I need?it also has that metal mesh lid on top
I hope I can help, I dont know about the watts uvb light for the length of it, but I do know its more recommended to have about a 40 gallon tank to start so the bearded dragon can have a basking side, and a cool side.

Hello, I was wondering if you knew if it's safe to feed about a 3 and a half month old bearded dragon silk worms?
I don't really know who to trust anymore with pet stores because one says something if fine, and the other says its terrible.
@@christopherburstein296 As long as the worms are no larger than the distance between a dragons eyes, go for it. You just don't want to feed a small dragon a giant meal.

You dont. You remove the worms to a clean set up as needed and throw the poop on yout garden.
I'm still having trouble with step 1 beating the ants... they bite too damn hard
