Today we are doing a full and detailed How-To tutorial on setting up and usinf the module 5689 in the new GAB2100 also known as the Bluetooth Casioak.
After the success of the regular GA2100 ot was only a matter of time before Casio expanded on the collection and this one, with its tough solar and Bluetooth technology is the best so far, in my opinion!
The rest of the watch is the same as the regular GA-2100 which means it is one of the thinnest and smallest GShocks you can buy.

Thanks to this very concise review I have today received my B2100-1A with the positive display. The hands did not sync with the digital display which was showing the correct time so manually adjusted now looking sweet. My first G-shock so pleased.

Hi dude.. why my watch after charger solar dont move to “H”
It’s takes time, sometimes several hours of sunlight. If you use indoor light it can take days

Great video, one potential correction. DST auto I don't believe actually pulls anything from the phone via Bluetooth, it just automatically shifts time forward/back depending on the date and if that city uses DST or not, similar to the GWM5610 which doesn't have Bluetooth... DST dates are all stored in memory similar to perpetual calendar.
Great video! Maybe a silly question but when setting a alarm through the app how do i change AM/PM? I scroll down the hours but it stays on AM. love my watch, i got all black but would probably go for a less blacked out face next time. Looks great but sometimes difficult to see at a glance

FACTS
Is there a way to save only 5 favourite time zones to cycle through on the watch? Maybe through the app? Can you reduce the list of time zones in the app so the watch only remembers those specific ones instead of the whole pre-fed list?
It’s annoying if you have to keep pressing the button again and again when you just wanna see a few time zones such as LA, NY, London, Dubai, Sydney. I shouldn’t be required to press the button 30 times to cycle through just the 5 zones I care about!

06:05 this was immensely helpful. I deleted and reset the BT in hopes that it stops being so battery hungry and will maintain H on the battery.
Do you find that it maintains on H for longer now? I'm in two minds whether to get solar or not.
When you purchase, the battery must be charged to 70 percent in order to install the software update to the watch.

It goes to home, but jumps to M to show the battery level, M is battery level

Hey, I also have the ga b2100. I'm super happy with the watch. However, the pointer switches between H and M throughout the day. Is this normal? I can "charge" it on the window sill but a little later on the arm joint the pointer is at m. A little later it's back at H. It's been like that for a few days now. Greetings
I got my watch two days ago and it shows exactly the same. It is probably normal on this watch. Most important is it doesn´t go to LOW. I think.
M is a VERY VERY WIDE area of power, yours is close to H so it keeps going back and forth. Keep wearing it, when spring and summer come it'll reach H, OR leave it on a window sill for 3-4 days

I also have a question so technically we will never have to change the battery physically assuming so in your experience since you have had to watch for eight months now do you see this watch not having any problem with the battery five years just taking the sunlight will be enough to keep the watch alive for a long time.? 1. When fully charged, how long will the battery last?
2. How long does it take to charge from dead to full?
3. How long will the solar battery last before it needs to be replaced? Can it be replaced? If so, how much does that cost?

1. From Full Charge - Dead = ~ 1.5 Years
2. Outdoors Sunny Day
Dead -> Medium = 3 hours
Medium -> High = 24 hours
High -> Full = 7 hours
3. It depends on usage but it usually around 10 years

It is in power saving mode. You can turn it off in the settings and the display will stay on all the time.

Hey @Watch Geek thank you for your in-depth review. I have one issue with mine and I don't know if this is normal or how can I fix it. I can't seem to go in the H mode where it displays the digital HH:mm and through L. when I shuffle through modes it just skips these two (H and L). Do you know what might cause the issue and how do I fix it? Thanks
H and L just show how much battery is left in the charge on the watch and if it points to one of those you are the normal home time mode
Just recieved the watch today. My subdial doesn't point to the function in display. e.g it points to stopwatch but shows timer in display. Can it be adjusted or it is a manufacturing defect. Plz reply

I made a bold decision to buy the yellow one. Its the only G-Shock I bought with bright colour. Usually its either dark grey or black. The Yellow one is easily stained. Looked dirty after a few weeks. Love the watch though. Would appreciate if anybody could tip me on how to clean the stains on the band and outer rubber case.
I wonder why they didn't make the same yellow as the GA-2110, yellow on this model is bit washed-out...
@@stavros_katsopr Exactly why I ordered the yellow one. I thought its using the same Yellow, although I really wished they made the bezel black the way the 2110 does. But I still think the Yellow on the 2110 would also tarnished in time. I'll just use nylon strap on mine if this strap worn out. Maybe replace the bezel with metal too.
If you want you could actually buy the 2110 bezel and strap and switch it there

My old casio solar watch with full digital display had a solar charging indicator but the new ga2100 same green one doesnt have any indicator which says solar charging is on
The pointer on the left side will point to the battery level in normal time mode.
When i press the light and mode button for the hands to clear why does youre casio move to 1:05 while mine goes to 12:00. It still clears the hands nicely but its bugging me for some reason
It will go to one of few positions, based on where they are when you press the combo

You set time digitally if you don’t use Bluetooth function then when done the hands sync with it automatically

😂😂😂The "H" stands for "high" for the battery and not for home. It doesn't show you H because it isn't fully charged
i really like the casioak models, it is one of the best looking g-shock, great features and all, but i will never ever, ever own one and the reason is that it does not have the second hand and i have really big problems with analog watches without the second hand. I think there must be something wrong with me
Delayed comment, I was very much the same but you adapt extremely quick you find when you see a face with a second hand it becomes strange for readjusting.

I’ve never really gotten automatic synchronization to work. Does anyone know how? I followed the instructions but doesn’t happen. Phone and watch are near each other every night.

Just got a yellow one, really like it, a question, can the watch show the date in the digital display? I have it showing the day of the week, mon,tue,wed etc but above this it's showing seconds, can the watch show the date of the month, haven't been able to work that out,.

In world time mode, why can’t I cycle to other cities, I pressed D button and only UTC is shown.
Change it by opening the app and set it simple as that
First press Mode button then Start button and change it if you don't ha ve a Bluetooth one.

No. It’s either none at all or all 4 times. Why would you want it to happen only 1 time anyway?

How much time does it take to charge when exposed to light? Mine been on M for a long while.
Your watch is on power saving function, which you can turn off via the casio watches app, or the watch itself, which will let's you use the watch battery properly altogether, but if want to save battery, you can keep on power saving function if you want, also for your last question, for the watch to be exposed to charging via light, it would depend where you are, I suggest looking at your watch instruction manual module 5689.
What does the "positive screen" mean ?
Referencing the digital display in this video the watch has a negative (Black display) with gray/white numbers
A positive display has white or lighter background with black numbers
