I was a Casio dealer in 1979 and I'm glad to see that they are thriving and still producing innovative models. Although I do own other watches, my daily wearer is still a Casio.
71 this year and yellow is the one I ordered!!! So, one month later and I need to issue a public service warning! I had not owned a Casio, except for an ancient Pro-Trek that lives on the bedside table, still running and keeping up with the atomic clock almost 20 years now. I enjoyed this little CasiOak so much that I started looking at other G-Shocks. It wasn't too long before I bought a GWG2000 Mudmaster. So here's the warning. The new Solar + Bluetoot 'CasiOaks' should all be considered GATEWAY DRUGS and ENTRY POINTS into all things CASIO and G-SHOCK! I had forgotten just how much fun and how good these watches are! They've only gotten better!
All quartz watches should be solar by now. Quartz + Solar is a great match, probably the lowest hassle watch type to own. Solar quartz can last up to 20 years too in my own personal experience.
I disagree. I have 3 Quartz solar watches and unless they’re kept in a bright area they will stop after a period of time. My 4 normal Quartz watches are completely unaffected by this. I will simply put a new battery in every couple of years. I won’t be buying any more Quartz Solar watches.
Positive display in yellow is definitely the pick of the bunch for me. I had a black with pale grey indices for a while, but never really gelled with it, the negative display was a factor in that because it made a bunch of the functionality largely inaccessible to me (yes, I have middle-aged eyesight...). I like the idea of a bold, yellow G instead (oh, and the hell with the age factor, I'm 50 and I'll cheerfully wear it!).
Agreed - I am 60 this year and have over 70 watches - everything from Casio/Seiko through Breilting/Omega/Zenith to Rolex (6no)/PP/and VC. I have just recently bought a GBD-200 Lime Green G-Shock and couldn't give a flying f**k what people think of it. Watches have been my fun for over 50 years and I wear what I like and what pleases me.
I went back to g-shock squares because most of the recent analog g-shocks have extremely busy dial. This one looks so elegant I might 'need' one. And Bluetooth time sync was something I did not think I needed until I had it.
Can every please STOP!!!!! I've bought 5 already, 3 resin and 2 metal......now I'm gunna have to get one of these!!!! And you suggest Titanium now....... bloody hell!!!
I have been saying since I bought my first Casio Oak, that Casio will definitely make a solar version of it, cause that is the logical evolution of the watch. I would say next would be a full metal version, maybe even a gold limited or special edition. Thanks Jody. I would definitely add the yellow one to my collection.
This video of yours means two things to me. 1. I will be getting one, which will be the third watch this year. 2. I will be writing a thesis defence for the Mrs. for when I have to explain why I bought another watch when I already have a dozen at least.
Just bought the yellow and black versions. Both with positive displays. Will arrive next week. The black one will go to my 16 year old son and the yellow is for me!
i was just about get the old ga-2100 until i discovered they released the new solar and bluetooth tough version, thank you for your awesome video. Really helped me make my decision and im gonna go with the black one with the positive display, it will be my first g-shock ever and im looking forward to more colors being released in the future!

This Yellow has got to be called the Pikachu! And good for you for not caring what others think when picking your model, your watch collection is for your own pleasure. This is a great announcement, and Casio have come to the right person to do the exclusive! 👍
Casio have knocked it out of the park with these! I feel like every G Shock should be solar, it’s such a no brainier for this type of watch and the Bluetooth connectivity is handy too. I wish they had made the black ones a bit more legible but maybe the modders will come up with a solution like they have with the original and we’ll see 3D printed fully lumed indeces on the market for these updated Casioaks soon 🤞 It took me a while to warm to the Casioak but it has totally won me over and if I hadn’t just bought the regular GA2100 just before Christmas this would be a day 1 purchase for me. Awesome review as always Jody and congratulations on getting the world exclusive scoop on the first hands on with these 👏👏👏👏
Love them! Never bought one before - to me G-Shocks have to be solar. Now I will. Still debating between the black with positive display and the yellow. We shall see - the video will certainly help with the decision :) wish they eventually release smaller models with the updates as well - but with regular colours this time, please 😂

Got a few g-shocks, but no casioak. Like the yellow with the positive display, but would probably change to a black strap. Also rather have multiband 6 than bluetooth, so will keep waiting
I'm 64 and I prefer the yellow one too. But I've never really warmed to the CasiOak, I had one and rarely wore it and ended up trading it. For a Casio ani/digi watch I much prefer the ProTrek line. But that yellow one...
I've spoken with so many people who own bluetooth Casios and don't bother with the app. I'm in Canada and the closest atomic clock is Colorado. It's very difficult to connect from here so the sync feature is a blessing for me. I have four G's and an Edifice that use this feature. I love the re-design of the dial on these new models. Particularly the Positive display.
Most of the gshocks I have had in the past were all multiband 5/6 and solar. I thought Bluetooth would be such a gimmick until I tried it out. It’s synched with something that most of us have with us ALL THE TIME…our phones. And if you happen to lose your phone like I do every once in a while, the find my phone feature is pretty useful. I like this watch more than I thought I would
Same page - yellow is the best of the bunch! And lucky me I haven´t picked up a CasioOak until now. Almost did it last month but will definitely wait for this yellow beauty!
I like that you enjoy the yellow one. I have a couple of yellow dial Seiko's & despite having a few much fancier Swiss watches, they are the ones that tend to attract positive comments.
I"ve been wearing the yellow one for at least two weeks now -- this video (and the one from Hodinkee) sold me on it. I haven't worn a Casio in 20 years - now I'm really enjoying it. Casio - if you're listening, give us more tough solar casioak models! Big thank you to JOMW. It even indirectly got my father to buy a Casio as well.
Can the modules be switched into some of the older cases? My favorite version is the original Japan only release in the mustard yellow color. The new yellow on these models is too bright.
Two questions - 1) Can I set different alarms for different days through the app? 2) Does the watch through its app have any fitness features, such as step counter?
Muchas gracias. ¿Me puedes decir si los accesorios de GA-2100 (bisel, correa, tornillos) son compatibles con el nuevo modelo Solar GA-B2100, o sea intercambiables?
I am fan of coloured watches back in 70s a had one with a red face and white strap also it was a fibre class case I now have one orange and white casio I am like the yellow
Had the original contrasting black and white and couldn't get away with it, it wore really well but always wanted the backed out version.. it got flipped and forgotten about! Now seeing the stealth released with solar and BT 😍 Casio, you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention.
I've always been a huge skeptic about G-Shocks - I do things that people say you "need" a G-Shock for and either wear a tough stainless watch or take my watch off, but with 10% off I've pre-ordered a Black/Grey Casioak, primarily because I like the Solar option (and find this the least offensive looking G-Shock) - I was tempted to yellow to start with, but decided that it would just look plain silly and, having owned yellow dialed watches I never wore, I'd probably let it linger in the box, so went for the Black/Grey one in the end because the hands and markers are more legible than most of the others and I liked the red 'mode indicator'. - Time will tell if I'm a convert or it'll soon be appearing on eBay!
Ordered one of these through the Army Post Exchange website. It’s ready for pick up as of this morning (5/30/2024) and I cannot wait until they open so I can pick up my ew watch!
Jody I just bought the GA-2100-1A4 about 2 weeks ago. It’s the Neon Accent Series & the one reason I bought it was legibility! I’m ok with the occasional battery replacement. ⏳👍🏼
One unwelcome (to me) change from the GA2100's is the limiting of the countdown timer from a max of 24 hours or so down to the GAB2100 timer max of 60 minutes. If counting down from a time greater than an hour is important and helpful to you, the GA2100s may be a better fit for you than the GAB2100.
☀️power ✅, Pos display ✅, yellow ✅. Best choice for me. My only concern would be seeing the base resin as the yellow wears off from bumps and bruises. Wasn't a good look on any of my (former) white 6900's and would be worse this time around. But maybe Casio has actually used full dyed resin in these models; I don't know.
I'm in the USA and we have an atomic clock transmitter but only for all the Nation. I get good reception at home in Texas but no good traveling on either coast.

Jody, just found that you're back on YT! Excellent news.
Indefinitely and never are really long timescales 😃 Keep up the good work
Casio is god tier mate. The dogs fucking bollocks. Fair fucking play
Had the original contrasting black and white and couldn't get away with it, it wore really well but always wanted the backed out version.. it got flipped and forgotten about! Now seeing the stealth released with solar and BT 😍 Casio, you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention.
@pearse8783
Why is it called stealth, is that because its unreadable
Ive bought a yellow and a triple black, can’t wait for them to arrive
Ordered one of these through the Army Post Exchange website. It’s ready for pick up as of this morning (5/30/2024) and I cannot wait until they open so I can pick up my ew watch!
I go with the stealth and army green 👌👌👌
You're right, the yellow is the standout 😁
definitely the yellow
Jody I just bought the GA-2100-1A4 about 2 weeks ago. It’s the Neon Accent Series & the one reason I bought it was legibility! I’m ok with the occasional battery replacement. ⏳👍🏼
I’m team yellow too Jody, and I’m also in my 40s lol
One unwelcome (to me) change from the GA2100's is the limiting of the countdown timer from a max of 24 hours or so down to the GAB2100 timer max of 60 minutes. If counting down from a time greater than an hour is important and helpful to you, the GA2100s may be a better fit for you than the GAB2100.
On their website (casio) still says its 24 hours?
☀️power ✅, Pos display ✅, yellow ✅. Best choice for me. My only concern would be seeing the base resin as the yellow wears off from bumps and bruises. Wasn't a good look on any of my (former) white 6900's and would be worse this time around. But maybe Casio has actually used full dyed resin in these models; I don't know.
I'm in the USA and we have an atomic clock transmitter but only for all the Nation. I get good reception at home in Texas but no good traveling on either coast.
I preordered the yellow one as soon as I heard about it. :)
Should be with me in a week.
World exclusive
Yellow, totally agree. Great job 👍
I'm in love with the 1A. Been saving up for it.
The yellow looks nice!
I have actually been waiting for this.
That yellow is the one. Great legibility ‼️
The green one is my favourite. Maybe I would experiment with the colour of the strap.
I never fell for the design of these. Lack of legibility was my top objection. I do have a solar/bluetooth Edifice and love the functionality of it.
