John Hiatt, one of my husband's favorite artists; we saw him many times over the years. He always used to sing this to me ♥ He passed last year and every time I hear this song ...💔
This song reminds me my boyfriend..He's dead two years ago and in his coffin I put one cd with this song.. I miss you Jonathan and I will love you for the rest of my life....
@Sara I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Those we love are never gone from us, we carry them with us always. Jonathan was obviously very special and he was blessed to have such a caring person in his life. I too share the same feelings as you. You have every right to still love Jonathan. Songs like this bring back the memories, the feelings we still have and for a few moments, we can smile through the pain as we remember our lost loved ones.
I'm 17. I messed up and wound up pregnant. My daughter was born 2 weeks ago today, and this song makes me want to do so much better for her. I hate feeling like a disappointment to my family, and hearing this makes me want nothing more than to be a good mom to my baby girl. Such an inspirational song. Funny to think I first heard it in Benny and Joon.
I don't think you messed up. What a beautiful gift you brought to the world having your daughter. And what a beautiful gift you are to her. Keep going, be the difference you want to see❤️.
My parents are always fighting about things. Small things. They shout and my mother starts crying, then my dad walks away. And then they don't speak to each other for days. Just like today. This song seems to comfort me, 4 minutes of total peace.
Hello I really do appreciate you for being a big fan thank you for your wonderful comments on my post it really means a lot to me.I sincerely hope you never stop listening to my music…..❤️❤️❤️
my best friend is in a depression now. I really want to help him. so I sended this song to him and he started crying because of I didn't let him down like all his other friends did. He has faith in me. And I have faith in him that he will become the happy person he was again!
Love the guy and his music. His shows are great, he is under appreciated by the mass media and that is okay. To those in the know, we can look at each other and smile.
When I saw Hiatt live he thanked Bonnie Raitt and her popularization of Thing Called Love for putting more than one set of tires on the tour bus. I think around '92?
My husband send me this song by email almost 8 years, after we just met. I was going through a very difficult time, my parents' hate him (still). I cried my ass off when I heard the song. Now, almost 8 years later, we are married and very happy together, through thick and thin, sun and rain..
Hello Megan 👋 Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will make you smile.
the clips of the kids in this video are priceless...reminds me of the times when the only thing in the world you had to worry about was having fun and being a kid..
Hello I really do appreciate you for being a big fan thank you for your wonderful comments on my post it really means a lot to me.I sincerely hope you never stop listening to my music…..❤️❤️❤️
This video man, the first 30 seconds alone will make your heart ache for your childhood. Its gone so fast we dont even know what we had until its long in the rear view
When you find that special someone and you don't care where you go or what you do on any given day, just as long as you share it with them. Then you know you've found what you will never find again... A love to love as much this.
I saw this on MTV back in 88 or 89.. I was like 14 yrs old. I was totally fixated on the TV, couldn't take my eyes off what I was watching and hearing. Instantly fell in love with the song.. and never saw it on MTV ever again. Never heard it on the radio either. I'm 36 now, and I have until this day had the memory of this song in my head. Thank you for posting!
Totally underrated. I first heard “Shredding the documents.” I can’t remember when or where I heard this song but the lyrics really caught my attention! I had never heard of him before. I do remember it was playing in the background somewhere and in my peripheral hearing I was like, did I just hear that? What did he just say? And as it played along it just caught more and more of my attention. By mid way through it had my full on attention! The lyrics are so in your face and rude and I just chuckle every time I hear it. Enough to say this is a damn great song…I played it non stop for weeks…there’s so many good lines in it. I’m still not sure what the song is about other than being authentic and true…and then we have this song…Have a little faith….I send my wife love songs weekly…this is one of them…it always puts a lump in my throat…beautiful…and I’ll say it again…a highly underrated artist…thank you John…
This song makes me think about what i want to do in life. What my goals are and how i am gonna reach them. My goal is big but i hope i make it. I wont let people down!
Most everyone has heard this song. Amazing. John is loved by his followers. There are so many though, that don't know his name until they hear a song of his. I wish he were more recognized. He is so deserving of recognition.
Wonderful tune; only just discovered it a handful of months ago. Saw the film Benny & Joon, but don't remember the song. My dear husband died last summer of a rare cancer. I miss him terribly.
This song goes out to all those people who have lost everything due to storm Sandy. Tho things might look down and hopeless just remember that material things can be replaced. Be glad we have each other and we will get by one day at a time. Together we can rebuild.
@John Hiatt 🎵 Quite some time now. "Have a little faith in me" goes back some & is a dear song. One of my favorites. Many Blessings. I appreciate the response.
@John Hiatt just read your messages & was responding when I noticed they are now hidden? Hope your day is well & that the spirit of the Holidays uplift you with Joy. Reach out to me when you get the chance. 💕
Thanks for singing a song that lifts humanity's spirit. This is a keeper. I suspect every being that hears this song that their loving and spiritual vibrations increases tenfold....Namaste, Francine.
I absolutely love this song right now!!! One of my close friends has recently become a guy I have been seeing romantically. He is also a recovering addict, i'm helping him through his troubles and I think I'm going to play or sing this song for him. Cheesy as it sounds, this song means a lot right now.
From the heart of John Hiatt.....and I can feel it also. Thank you John! My comment so simple, yet if you only knew what the songs stir in my soul, I pray more families will enjoy the simple things of life and learn to love one another. Now that is living life!
That's the thing about music, every song means something to each of us, that's why we love songs. We love them for each of or reason's, I Love this song.
John Hiatt has said in interviews that he is surprised at how many people tell him that they used this at their weddings. The song is about a man begging for another chance as his woman is walking out the door. To him this is an end-of-a-relationship song, not a love song. But it is a beautiful song and I have sung it to my wife on many occasions.
I am still a rookie. John wrote this for Joe. Now that is friendship in poetry. I love when such great artists create with a co- artist in mind, even when they can tear it up themselves. And it also happens with movies that are written, with a specific actor in mind. and then many 'remakes' are hard to accept, but a few can fill the shoes. Its rare. AHH, to be at that caliber of greatness. These kind of artists are few and far between, but HERE THEY ARE.. KICKIN hard.
great talent, had the pleasure of getting to know him in the mid 90's he is the real deal not full of himself. His music and talent don't have a label or boundary, hope your are still going strong John, Rick one of your old racing buddies.

I heard "Full Moon" the first time it was ever played - on an A. M. station near Baltimore-1973 or 74. I drove straight to Record Lords in Rockville MD & asked Howard what he knew about this John Hiatt guy. He gave me their demo LP-he said no matter how good this guy is, this record isn't going to sell. He was right. Hiatt has never been recognized for much more than his songwriting, but damn I was glad I had my radio set to that station that day, because he is the shit. Puts everyday life into words, and writes great tunes. One of my all time favorites artists.
I hope I can count and my brother and sisters from ever corner of the world, I hope we can be rewarded by the faith we have in each other, because we are all we have.
@Sylphadora Benny and Joon has been one of my favourite movies since I was a small kid of about 4-5yrs old. Johnny Depp is my favourite actor and I grew up watching him early on and to this day. I’ve seen all of his work and this one has a soft spot in my heart. This movie came out the year I was born. I’m watching it tonight 12 years after you wrote this comment and I couldn’t agree more. It’s still a masterpiece. Sam and Joon were so sweet in this movie and I love the message behind it. 🖤 this scene and the song fit so perfectly together. ♥️❤️

What a beautiful sign of hope: Have a little faith in me. It really is a call back to one of my favorite verses, Matthew 14:31 "He of little faith" I am not religious, so I am not on my soap box, but it is such a uplifting feeling to tell someone that I am not asking for a lot from you, just have a little faith in me. Just a little.
As prolific a song writer as John Hiatt is, there are still those few inspired songs with all the right ingredients that rise up and shine over all others. To me, this is one of those 'evergreen' songs. I first heard it on the Joe Cocker album of the same name; a first class album with a few other powerful songs like this. Thanks for listing this and thank you John for being who you are to write 'Have a Little Faith". yO
I remember the first time I heard this song, it was in the film Look who's Talking Now, I just thought this was an brilliant song with very touching lyrics and also piano work, excellent all round, thanks for posting, favourited now...
A simplistic Song! Have a little faith in me means what it says. When the road gets dark "Have a little faith in me" I have known this song for along time. Music is about melody, rhythm, musicianship, words and emotion that touches you. I wish people would love music for what they gain from it. Don't analyse just feel. A great song, that's it!!!!!!!!
Hello I really do appreciate you for being a big fan thank you for your wonderful comments on my post it really means a lot to me.I sincerely hope you never stop listening to my music…..❤️❤️❤️❤
I'm lost for words. I really don't know what to describe this song. I love this song...I cannot explain it. When I listened to this song & know the lyric..I feel that the world is so busy. Every day is a busy day. People rushing to & from work. Children getting all dress in their school uniform to go to school. Our society is so demanding. But the question is..what happen to the world? I hear in the news, on TV, on the net..all the time, somewhere in the world, people are dying. Love to all.

Absolutely!
Sometimes - in tough circumstances - I listen to this song in prayer - I hear & listen to these words as the Lord singing to me.
me, too! I felt this song come to me when I was really struggling with my son's lonely journey. Jesus is like, 'have a little faith in Me.'

To me, this is one of those 'evergreen' songs. I first heard it on the Joe Cocker album of the same name; a first class album with a few other powerful songs like this. Thanks for listing this and thank you John for being who you are to write 'Have a Little Faith". yO
never gets old
This song ages well. How ever you perceive the lyrics, they change when one's life changes. Love it, and God bless.
I remember the first time I heard this song, it was in the film Look who's Talking Now, I just thought this was an brilliant song with very touching lyrics and also piano work, excellent all round, thanks for posting, favourited now...
I was wondering when someone when bring up that movie
Got here via Dolly Parton and Galantis...Thank you Sir John Hiatt...Love from Texas...
i love this song...
So lovely.
Hello I really do appreciate you for being a big fan thank you for your wonderful comments on my post it really means a lot to me.I sincerely hope you never stop listening to my music…..❤️❤️❤️❤
just learned to play this on the piano and now i want to play this for my girl. I'm so in love!! :D

If more people (younger and older) shared your view, our world would be in better shape.
82 people need a little faith...
