      & commercialism...
Saw him, in concert, in the, early, 90's, what a privilege.
Travelled, to Sydney, for that one, paid, for the ticket, makes it, evenmore special.
A ticket, to ride, isn't always, what it's, cracked up to be.

Down here in Louisiana when we aren't fighting floods, hurricanes, gators and such, we love to dance. Needless to say John Hiatt & Little Feat are big in my neck of the Bayou. Now the Bayou is full of expensive homes, docks, boats & fine lookin' ladies, but I swear we can dance on water when John Hiatt is on.

Notice the "Charlie Watts" drum beat when he sings the lyric.

He's a wordsmith for sure, plus he puts out on stage totally. The best of both sides.

I grew up a mile or so from John but didn't 'know' him til he got noticed thru his songwriting and since have seen him several times, most recently in Indy about 2 years ago...great song writer/ musican and human being!

    JustAintthatWay,
First John Hiatt song I ever heard was "Seven Little Indians". Talk about a great story. Hiatt has it all: Great songwriter - some of the best lyrics ever - great musician to boot. This 1st tape of Hiatt tunes also had the great Jeff Healey - better guitarist than 99% of those who could see...
