Jewel really was one of the most underrated singers of her generation. She blew up the pop scene but her real soul comes out here. Her b sides are really where you see her true power. My opinion anyway.
There is no “was”, she’s still here, still fabulous, still singing, writing, doing good charity work, has a jewelry line. And such a sweetheart all the way around.

The way Jewel sneaks up on this tune is just masterful genius, and by the time she hits "time, time is our friend.." it's full on feral Janis, and that's no back-handed compliment. Jewel absolutely owns this song.
Never said she was the writer but as far as the singing goes she is wonderful! Many singers never write the songs they sing but that's common knowledge and sadly the songwriter loses credit so Hail those with lyrics in their hearts!
