What a great duet...fantastic music from decades ago....yes 56yrs...I'm 67 and still enjoy great music from decades ago...FOREVER...it brings back great memories and tears to my eyes
These are just amongst the best songs that have ever been written in modern music history. Few performers make me cry, I'm an unreformed old style man so crying is not what I do, but I have to confess these songs just make tears pour out of my eyes. Although the vocal performances of Garfunkel are amazing and add much to the music, it really is the song writing talents of Simon. How does he go there? How does he reach into the place where the "ragged people go"? How does he know about being so lonesome to seek some comfort with prostitutes? It has to be an act of empathy as Simon when he wrote these lyrics would certain have not known about raggedness and loneliness. They are brilliant songs but, sadly, have not had the same endurance as, say the Rolling Stones or the Beatles but are at least their equal if not plunging depths that they have never achieved. I know Simon will never read these words, probably nobody will ever read these words they are a note to silence, but thank you so much for bringing these songs into the world. They do mean so much to so many.
I'm so very sorry.. I know these words feel empty now.. your loss is still so raw.. All I can say is you will go through so many hard days.. but you have to go with all your feelings. I got stuck with anger when my husband died almost 4 yrs ago. Time teaches us how to learn with the pain. But we never get over it, and there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Hugs to you. ❤
50 plus years, my entire life their music has been standing tall as likely the best male duo ever to perform, write and gift the world with the music they made. I can't think of another that even comes close to the quality and depth of the songs they've recorded.
Amazing!!!! Been listening to these guys my whole life. I'm 64 now and I'll never tire of their music, their lyrics. The best of the best. Love you guys ❤
Long, long after this pair leave us they will still be with us. The definition of legacy. The cornerstone, the rock, the foundation, and the standard that few have come close to.

As we were sending my mother in law to the cremetorium my baby daughter passed wind... my mother in law always burped my daughter, then when I was putting my daughter into our car after the service a sun shaped toy that played you are my sunshine when you pulled the cord started playing... but nobody touched it, my mother in law always sang this song to my daughter... think what you may... I believe death is like having a general anaesthetic, you are there one minute then you fall asleep and unless you are awaken again you never come back... that is it.. your last breathe is all there is for you in this life
Best music ever made. No dancers, nothing but music. There isn’t an artist today that can compare. I’ve listened to this countless times and never tire of it❤️
