I feel your pain. I have a 07 CRV, and the simplest jobs often turn into all-day nightmares. But since it only has 160K original miles, I will keep it till the body falls off. But, you kept your cool, on camera at least. And you got through it all. Kudos to you! I shared this everywhere I could. Great video.😀
Next Upgrade is change a upper mcperson bearings ( or plastic busshings which honda install) you can replace it to vw. passat b6 mcperson ball bearings and after this steering in CRV 3 works superb- light as feather. I replace it last saturday - it takes 2h on site.
Great video! I think I will put off attempting this one until I have more patience! I would have given up. Your channel has helped me with my gen 3 CRV. Would you consider doing a recommended tool list for someone starting out / favorite tools?
Thanks man.. starting out? I recommend the Pittsburgh 301 piece tool lit. It’s about 170 bucks on sale now at harbor freight. It’s got ratchets, sockets, extensions, pliers screwdrivers you name it. Great affordable tool kit. 👊🏼🍻
SWOLA!! Right on! That’s pretty cool! I have a 07 CRV. I’m a DIYer and some of your struggles are totally relatable. I appreciate you not editing out and letting us see how you overcome these challenges. I really like your channel. Thank you for these vids, sir.
I’m in Ontario Canada doing the rears on a 2005 crv..your video will help me a whole lot.especially with the bushing pressing. The back struts have 1” lift spacers installed If I install those Putin made bushings in should I take out the lift spacers Cheers…
Ahh.. you have a 2nd Gen. yeah the Putin bushings as I showed for both ends are great and a great product. If you are replacing the complete struts with KYB or any other good aftermarket complete struts then definitely get rid of the spacers. Your CRV should be like OEM spec again. Don’t forget the alignment. Thanks for your support and good luck on your install. 👊🏼
I overhauled the front suspension on my 2002 crv. I forgot to put it in ride height position before tightening everything down. How crucial is that ? Should I go back in and do it?
It’s extremely crucial! By tightening up everything with the suspension down, when it rests back on the ground it’s puts a pre load on the bushings and that will cause them to fail prematurely. Also can cause creaking noises too. You should redo it.
