@pilgrim666butters I would not coat the Kahr slide. Just live with it as it is since I have seen so many stories of coating negatively affecting performance on these small polymer guns. As for the Moonies connection, the Moonies practically own Kahr. Justin Moon (the son of the founder of the unification church) is the owner and leader of Kahr (with the church as his primary backer).
That was some fine shooting, many say the trigger sucks on the p290 but you didn't seem to have any trouble finding the sweet spot to stage the trigger before squeezing a round off. The cost of this gun is significant but I'm sure it seriously outperforms the Ruger LC9 or any of the other sub 9s that sell for half the price. I'd like to see this compared to the Glock 26 to get a good idea of the size difference. Nice video.
@AJourneyOfYourSoul I did not mention the size in the review because I honestly did not even notice the extra few ounces in any practical way. Maybe if I held one in one hand and one in the other but holding them separately I did not notice it being heavier than my Kahr.
My SIG 290 B series has the more pronounced beavertail,good trigger and I am very pleased with it. Takedown is easy, 8 rd mag is easy to conceal if you remove the "foot". All good. Very nice work on the vid, thank you yankeemarshal.
Hey Yankee I doubt you're going back this far to reply, but I seen my Local FFL is having the P290 for 300 on Thanksgiving, would you recommend this purchase?
I really like the idea of the Nano. I love the modular design similar (or simuler as we say in WV) to what SIG uses in their P250 series. In person it was a bit of a let down though. It seemed inferior to the P290 so I was not able to justify buying it.
I noticed that Sig has revised this gun a little and one of the changes is a re-contouring of the slide stop. I wonder if the new one will fit and allow you to change it out.
that thing weigh's 20 oz!! damn man my taurus 740 sub compact weigh's 19 and my glock 23 weighs 21 that is crazy. i shoot a friend of mine's taurus tcp wich is a micro .380 and it took a minute to get the grip down but i have no problem with it now and love to shoot it. been thinkin about getting one. bloody gun that fight's back i love it. keep it up. and that looks like a nice pistol.
Yeah im hey excited with my purchase. Im just not one for stainless steel so im looking into blueing it, or something different maybe desert tan to match my m6a2. But what is the moonies thing about with kahr?

Haven't heard of this gun until now. Looking for a concealed carry gun for my wife in either 9mm or .380. I've always had a preference for Sigs and Berettas since I learned on a Beretta 92
Bout the p290 rs yesterday and picking it up wednesday. I shot this and the pf9 and i gotta say i almost bout the pf9 over this because the trigger was so much better but the kahr jammed on me a lot more than the sig.
I try not to let cost influence my decision on a gun I will be betting my life upon, but to be honest...there are better choices than this gun or the same price or less.
Yankee Marshal, I have the P290RS, and was wondering if you have any suggestions on ways to smooth out the trigger pull and reducing the stacking? I'm ok with the pull length and weight, just wish it was smoother like other Sigs.

If one were in the market for a thin, single stack, concealable .380/9mm, what would you recommend? To everyone in the market for a gun! Dont bother watching any of these videos first! If you went by the "reviews" you wouldnt end up with anything! Go to a gun show and handle them all! Or go to a range and rent them all and shoot them first! My P290 is EASY to take down, the trigger takes about 50 rounds to get used to, it is smal and easily concealable and is of the best quality!
It seems like what you were saying mostly is that if you want to buy a gun with the Sig name on it then this may be a good one. It sure did not sound like this is a gun for you. Considering that it drew blood on you,ect. If I had those kind of problems w/it I know I would not want it, but as they say, that's just me.

With a divot in the design of the handle expressly for the purpose of demanding the proper placement of the thumb for a one-handed-grip (which is wrong), why would you put your thumb on the slide? There is nothing about proper-grip that suggest holding a gun the way you do it. You SHOULD have your thumb injured so that your viewers will know how NOT-TO-GRIP a hand-gun. There are other comparable guns, Beretta Nano, Sig 290 that don't carry this baggage. I had an opportunity to buy my wife a Norinco copy of the Browning s22 rifle.....Wouldn't do it.

@Glockwork9 It is definitely worth taking a look at as far as deep concealment pistols are concerned.
@jigsaw183 SIG's have excellent ergonomics IMHO. The only issue they have is the wood grips on the double stack pistols can be a bit fat.

I don't know if this has been said yet or not but the P290RS has a list of improvements of the original P290. Just and FYI.

Not a huge fan on molded shape trigger guards, rather have one nice smooth inside.
