FILM DESCRIPTION:
After saving New York City from a ghost attack, the Ghostbusters -- a team of spirit exterminators -- is disbanded for demolishing parts of the city during the battle. But when Ghostbuster Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) learns that spirits have taken an interest in his son, the men launch a rogue ghost-chasing mission. The quest quickly goes awry, landing them in court. But when the ghosts turn on the judge, he issues an order allowing the Ghostbusters to get back to work.

The frequency of positive singing overcomes evil
As someone who actually saw Ghostbusters 2 before the first one, I just so happen to prefer 2 over 1 simply because I saw it first funnily enough. Not to mention, I remember Vigo creeping me out when I was a kid and so that stuck with me for years.
Cool! While I prefer the first, one thing Ghosbusters 2 did better is the villain had more of a presence throughout the film.

Venkman keeps antagonizing the Carpathian

Well the Carpathian has definitely been a bad monkey.
This movie made me laugh a lot when I ws a kid. 3:30 Egon is so funny.
Whatever Vigo did to them from 1:56-2:04, it somehow had a different effect on each of the Ghostbusters while Egon looked like it electrocuted him.
I believe it had to do with how smart they were. The smarter, the more painful
@@_ITALUKE_ I didn't know that being very smart would cause pain to a Ghostbuster after whatever Vigo did from 1:56-2:04. But yes, Egon was very smart since he was kind of the leader who carried the P.K.E. Meter and he was the one who told the readings on a ghost to everyone. (I would have expected Peter to be the leader since the whole Ghostbuster business idea was all his idea as he mentioned on the first film). Peter on the other hand is considered the funny joker at times where it sounds like all that happened was that he couldn't move after what Vigo did especially when Vigo casted a spell on them knocking them down to the floor, Ray and Egon said they're not okay and can't move but Peter said that he was okay. Ray is also very smart like Egon but he wasn't shaking around like Egon was. Winston is considered the less smart one since he's not a Scientist and the newest Ghostbuster but, he was still shaking a little but Egon shook more. (When I saw this movie with others, someone else asked if Egon was just playing around and someone else said that the spell Vigo did was just making Egon shake since he was shaking more than Winston and Ray and Peter were being more still).
This one wasn’t as good as the first or nearly as dark, but the fight between Vigo the Carpathian was epic as hell.

Hell yeah it was good, with the proton streams and the good slime combined.
I'd argue that Ghostbusters 2 was darker simply because the baby was involved. You could argue that Vigo was able to possess Ray. However, that was more of a last-ditch effort to gain some semblance of control before finally being destroyed.
@@fenrirslip you’re right to some extent. They had some X Rated elements in a PG movie. But, still the ending of the first Ghostbusters was way tripier and darker and you had Gozer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Totally agree, the first movie had moments but nothing terrified me more as a kid than vigo. He was a great villain and that painting still haunts me!!

It’s Ray that Vigo wanted
Nah he was the backup. Vigo needed a backup plan. His painting was his backup plan when he got executed after all. Dude thought ahead. He didn't count on the tech being able to take down spirits though, and he was bound to that painting. He needed a new physical body to truly be free of it, but got put down back into it.

58M subscribers Vigo the Carpathian both terrified and scarred me a lot as a kid and he still creeps me out to this very day.
"No! I, Ray, am Vigo, shall rule the Earth! Begone, you pitiful half-men!" - Vigo The Carpathian's last words before he is completely destroyed by the Ghostbusters.
That is until the Ghostbusters take his portrait home in the video game and you can actually talk to it.

Von Homburg being the last name of the actor who plays him, Wilhelm von Homburg, and Deutschendorf being the last name of the twins who played Oscar, Hank and William Deutschendorf
From 0:37-0:48, it's weird how none of the Ghostbusters checked on Winston if he can move or is okay. I guess from what he said from 0:31-0:34 shows that he was not okay.
He was the first to speak, so they knew he was alive at least.

So did they really make Dan Ackroyd up with the make up for Vigo, or did they take the actor playing Vigo and make him look like Dan Ackroyd's character of Ray?
Neither, it was a guy from the set crew that was the same size as Dan. I don’t think Dan was available as the ending was re shot after the initial filming.

We all know that's Dan Ackroyd in heavy makeup lol.
Unfortunately it wasn't. Aykroyd wasn't available so makeup effects team member Howie Weed stood in for him. I've always felt Aykroyd's character in Nothing But Trouble (1991), Judge Valkenheiser, was too close to Vigo for comfort!
They all knew that Venkman's mouth would save them all...Louis was just an unknown Hail Mary play...

The moment Vigo occupies Ray, the fight should really begin. It was over too quickly. Biggest weak point of the film.
The new frozen empire came close but nowhere near GB1 or 2 but the female GB was just insulting I bet they thought oh all men are pigs and us girls way more funny. It was embarrassingly bad
