This movie had some actual scary moments. Showing two characters locked in a room that’s on fire really taps into anybody’s basic fears for their own safety.
Watching the interaction between Stantz and Spengler in their natural habitat to me was always one of the most satisfying elements of the Ghostbusters franchise! Since Aykroyd and Ramis wrote the screenplay of the first two flicks, it's only natural that they should also be the scientific stars of it.
It was awesome Winston breaking the door to save Egon and Ray from not getting barbecue those four are like brother......brothers always look out for each other
I love the scene when Ray and Egon talk about dinner! Ray: What do you think about Chinese? Egon: What about Thai? Ray: Nah, too spicy! Greek? Egon: Mexican? Ray: Pizza? Egon: Thin or thick? (About the crust) Ray: Chicago!
Yeah me too, and like well, come to think of it, all that talking about food makes me hungry. And well imagine if I were in the movie as a brand new ghostbuster, me and ray & egon would have said this, "Me": so umm, what do you boys think for dinner tonight, chinese?. "Egon": how bout thai?. "Me": nah too spicy. "Ray": greek?. "Egon": uhh mexican?. "Me": pizza?. "Egon": thin or think?. "Ray": chicago.
Fire extinguishers are damn heavy, as well as very sturdy. If a door is stuck and won't budge, and you have an extinguisher handy, it makes for an excellent battering ram.
Winston saves not only Ray and Egon from certain death but was pivotal in helping save the day being the only one left with a slime blower, which was vital in weakening Vigo so the proton streams could sap the rest of his power.
Somebody with the power to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time is not one to underestimate. I wish they could have done more with Vigo. A villain who rightly deserved his death but still managed to live through a painting and project his power through a substance that can get anywhere. Who knows what else he could project his power through. He was able to possess Janosz to do his bidding outside the museum
Hmmm… That makes sense. I always wondered why Vigo didn’t just try again after Winston put out the fire. All the pictures of his painting burned up. Vigo no longer had a window into the firehouse.
This alongside Dana being posessed creeped me out as a kid. It's a long standing tradition for Ghostbusters movies and TV to have a scene to be straight out of a horror movie. Both movies are classics.
Since this movie was more kiddy-friendly, they couldn't show more horror tropes like that. But they still managed to insert a few like the severed heads to the subway or this scene here.
Considering this is a comedy these photos scared the krap out of me when I was young , especially vigo with the river of slim underneath just frightening! Gozer was also scary but these are classics 👌 especially marshmallow man .
There’s a scene in the movie when Ray and Egon are together taking about Vigo. Egon checked out Vigos history on the Occult reference net. Was this a real thing ? Maybe the first search engine when the internet was first invented? Seems like the first type of Wikipedia website
So Vigo has the power to light things on fire and lock doors from miles away but only uses this power once to try to kill anyone. What an incompetent villain
When I was remaking this to fit the story into my home city of Austin, I actually had the third picture change. One minute, it's like what you see in the movie, next minute, it's got this evil looking grin like it's looking right at them.
The Ghostbusters establish the situation through vigo's pics. Vigo's ghost minions r aware & try to foil their investigation by locking them in 0:45 - 0:47 & setting the pictures ablaze 0:59.
*Winston:* What is it John ? Need more firepower to take down the agents of the High Table ? *meanwhile at the Continental* *Winston:* Who are you and why did you call a ghostbuster ?
It's a blink and you'll miss it moment, but Ray's hand was going for the latch just before the scene cut to the close up. He was trying, but Vigo wasn't about to lose a battle of strength against a puny human.
They're using that machine to look beyond the illusion, or veil of the painting to see what's on the other side. The third photo is where they finally see the realm of Vigo and see the horrific monster that lurks behind the painting.
@@MAnuscript421 Well said. The question remains why the slime river is seen flowing through what we can assume is the Castle of Pain when Vigo's painting animates and in this photo. If it came into existence per Winston's explanation (or GB: TVG's recton), then why do we keep seeing it elsewhere? Whatever the reason, it still looks cool!
The lock is on Egon and Ray's side of the door, you can see Ray trying to fiddle with it but he cant get it to open. Winston obviously knows this so when he realizes theyre stuck he wastes no time breaking down the door.

It's creepy that Vigo can see into and affect the outside world not just through his painting, but through any picture taken of it.
Since he's drawing strength from the slime river, which is seeping out all over the city, it's like his presence can be anywhere the slime is.

It’s not even that. They’re scientists working with chemicals and doing research and lab work. Any lab would have a FE on hand.
