I already got the head gasket and timing chain done, the engine is already back together and running in perfect time. This video was helpful because the previous owner deleted a bracket that's been missing since I got the vehicle, and I wanted to see where it was supposed to go. I found the bracket and the hardware at the junkyard, but someone had already removed it and set everything aside to get to the steering pump. Your video was the only one that clearly shows the mounting orientation for that bracket, and shows how the steering belt tensioner is supposed to sit on top of it, so thank you for providing this helpful resource. Considering the well-bent state of the former belt tensioner bracket, I'd say that secondary steering pump brace bracket is more important than the previous owner thought.
ive done plenty of distributors and you dont have to take the oil pump off, the ignition timing is set using a timing light pointed at the crank dgaft as you rotate the distributor to get the 20°
I just had to replace the timing chain crank case and we tried to crank it and it would turn over but not fully start so do you have any advice on what it could be?
Super helpful 👍 very detailed explanation and demonstration I'm a mechanic, however your average Joe who can change your tire at the most if he followed the video exactly now you even somebody very basic mechanic skills could do the job..
Thank for showing me how to take off the distributor connectors. Even after watching you getting those connectors off was tricky for me because they were stuck probably after 20 years. As a non mechanic I used WD-40 to loosen the connectors. Perhaps my hands are not as strong as yours.
Since the distributor for the 2.4L has a "half moon" slot at the gear it can only go in one way. So, if my oil pump was in the original position and I matched the direction of the rotor on my new distributor to my old distributor it should go in very close to the original position. Question: Will the "half moon" design" prevent you from being a "tooth" off at the gear?
I have to replace the PVC Valve(rubber grommets) when I replaced the PVC, is between the PVC and breather separator, the rubber vale was so bad and crumble, most of pieces was fall into the breather separator, I didn't take them out before I replaced the new PVC, This this matter?
My Rotor Is Literally 180 Degrees From Yours It’s Pointed To The 4Th Spark Plug Connection Do I Just Take Off The Oil Pump First Bolt Down The Distributor At The First Mark Then Put In The Oil Pump After ?
Hello sir. I have a Chevrolet spark. And from last few weeks the fuse of my mobile charger/cigar is getting fused again and again. So what to do for this?
HI, please, please n please help me with my 94 Nissan pickup truck. My timing is wrong n did exactly what you said n I can't get it started. So what have I done? Waiting for you to reply.
Dude, great vid by the way, thanks. Question, I have the same engine and it won’t star, I have4 week trying to get it start it but no luck, am wondering if you ever had the problem with your car and if so how did you fix it ,, and may I know what was your problem.
My timing marks are right of the pointer don't matter where I turn my distributor they won't go nowhere near that pin...Any suggestions mine is a 94 2.4 Ka hardbody
