Hey Mr Derek can you test the Rockville DB13 monoblock amp. Also is it possible to play frequencies lower than what the low pass filter on a monoblock amp can be set to? Like can 40hz or 35hz be played and heard through subs if the LPF can only go as low as 50hz? A lot of monoblock amps have that limit like this one I would like for you to test.
how good is it? and what have you owned before that to compare it to? i got a taramps last year to replace an incriminator amp that clapped out. it was pretty decent for a good price. i got the 5k soundigital on a good deal from a friend today but idk what i want to do with it yet.

Definitely interested in this brand. Many things have been said about these Brazilian amps, mostly good and some negative but in our internet world even the most unqualified people have opinions. Seems to me they're doing well. Thanks for showing us Derek.
BigDWiz haven't played it under 12v tho. These amps claim to have a good protection system from heat, shorting out and low impedance. Took a while to tune the box to get the right impedance. It would go into protection every time when the impedance dropped to low.. from what I've heard these amps are allmost impossible to break because of the protection system.

It completely baffles me as to why they cheap out on the most important connection on the amp. It's the most obvious weak link I've ever seen, and nobody bothers to fix it. You think they would with all the blown power supplies they see.

Oh man, my wife bought those knives like 20yrs ago and told me they cost $250 and I was like why spend that much? 20 years later she tells me they were 2x that much, but they are still sharp and worth every penny 😱
They actually have a "lifetime" warranty, regardless of the ownership. You can always have them shipped to their headquarters in New York to have then replaced or sharpened for free. Good stuff.
7:44 I got a kit like that from Amazon recently too, except it's got black plastic instead of orange. Nice little kit. Some people said they snapped the bits, but I have a feeling that they might have been applying too much torque to them - little screws don't need nearly as much torque as large bolts.
Beast of an amp!! I'm not sure I'd pay that much for that amp though. I keep hearing bad stories of reliability issues with Brazilian amps. I think I'd rather go with the Orion XTR2500.1D on that case. Great video BigD!! 👌

Keep in mind though, that, especially with the bass, the current is drawn in peaks, so the average current is less. Then again, some people seem to like to play a single low tone continuously ... XD

But we can notice than Soundigital have pretty the same prducts, but more expensive. Does the difference of price mean than Soundigital are less noisy than Taramps? Thanks
Hello Derreck I am talking specially about Taramps HD3000.1 (no matters the impedance) and Soundigital HD3000.1, so, full range amplifier, no for bass only. My question is if the little noise is less heardable on soundigital and if it can bored the listening at low level.
@@Marcel_Da_SundownKing you can add as many subs as you like as long as the final impedence to the amp isn't lower that is rated stable ohm. Let say for example it's 1000w rms... 1 sub would get 1000w two would get 500w each. Three would. Get 333w each four would Get 250w and so on. So on this amp you could run 2 subs at 1.5k each.
The Brazilian amps definitely put out power...I have owned a few of them for competition, but I have learned from first hand experience that they are alot more finicky and not even close to reliable as the Korean amps...

Didn’t Steve do a dyno in same amp a while back and it did some crazy numbers. And I think it’s the same amp. I wonder why his did way more power ? Or was it a different brand amp
whats the temps like? the major problem with these from what ive seen around the net, is the high voltages used, and the temps cause them to over heat and burn up. so, it can make those numbers, but not for any duration... those peaks need to be intermittent. also, if the amps can tolerate 16v, can u run them at 16v and see how they perform? not to kill them, but to see if i set up an 16v system, if i can put them on the same 16v and still use them. i may not drive them to max, but still use them on 16v to avoid having a separate 14v system.
It would be nice if the Amp Dyno could also do a frequency sweep, so it can measure the frequency response of the amplifier, and perhaps also measure the efficiency at varying levels of load.
Hey Big D, What do you set the gain on an amp to when you test them? What I am trying to figure out is when does an amp make its peak power? I just bought the Soundigital 1200.1 but it powering an Alpine s-w12d4 which is only rated for 600 RMS. If the amp gain is turned all the way down will it still pull 1200watts if I crank my volume?

So I've recently acquired a clamp meter and Ive tried checking the current on my vehicle electrical system. For my electrical I have a CES 180amp alternator and an xs power d5100r with a big 3. When clamping my electrical, the readings that I get are no where near 180amps even while going full tilt on my 2k watt Soundsystem. Feed back is appreciated
@@ricgaming917 of course the clamp meter reads DC. I would not have bought it otherwise. The mechanics in my area say that I shouldn't be getting a reading that matches the full output rating of my alternator
I just bought the same amp, and have stock 90amp alternator, a redtop optima in the front and a northstar agm31 in the back. I haven´t install it yet, do you think i might have to change my alt, add another battery or both?
If you have the money to spend, It never hurts to go ahead and swap it for at least a 140amp alt. If anything your batteries and car electronics will love it.
See If you can find an old school lanzar vibe 1200d amp. It was black with a orange logo in the middle. I think it was 1ohm a stable but I believe I ran it at .5 ohm (or maybe just once...lol) always wondered how much power it really had. Also I had an old school California series amp it was white with a long red light in the middle (can't remember who made it) I just remember having it in my 86 Monte Carlo with two jl 10s and I mean BUMBING....LOL long time ago
that California amp was a Profile amp, they used to have it in the crutchfield catalog back in the 90s next to the US Acoustics amps, I miss my old US Acoustics setup, and that was in the back of a '87 Monte lol
Yo bigd have have u ever dyoned the crossfire vr1000d? I recently got one literally new with bass knob and everything. Its korean made so i was wondering the wattage it actually does. Ive heard good things about in on some forums its an old school amp i believe 2002 version. I wanna see a dyno on it cuz ive just seen the bmf version the newer model
So D! Thanks for getting this guy up there! I had been bugging you for a little while to test one of these SD 3k's! You always deliver! So I was looking at using a 2ohm version of this amp as an upgrade to power a pair of older model Fi SSD 10's in order to have a little bit of headroom because they don't quite need a full 1500w per sub. So what is your opinion of this? I wanted a small high power amp to fit in my pick up truck since there isn't a lot of space to keep a big fat amp out of the way and protected from normal truck use. What do you say? Should I go for it? Or there a better option that is no larger than the SD that perhaps I should look at? Thanks again for the video, and I look forward to hearing your opinion.
Give me some time for an in car review. Something about these Brazilian amps that just sounds “thin” to me, but maybe I’m just crazy. I’ll report back hopefully in a few weeks

anthony John the 3k is actually just two apcl put together internally that is why it is only two ohm stable so I could imagine it would be close to double its usual output

wow! very good amplifier! test the Ground Zero GZIA 2080HPX-II seems to be a good amplifier for the price! it's an AB class amplifier with 2 channels it is rated 60x2 at 4 ohm, 80x2 at 2 ohm and 1x240 at 4 ohm (bridge mode) all with 14.4V 1% THD it has very simple settings... cross over (lpf and hpf) and gain

Cristian Nieto either (2) 10” or (2)12” But they can’t be too deep. They have to fit into the saddle bags. Whole bag will be sealed off as an enclosure. Budget ... hopefully no more then $1500. Total For 2 speakers

The part where the rca goes I believe u can only put in one jack. Not a pair. Because mine write input on one and output on the other
SonzOfSylvia in the vid he connected both ends of the RCA into the amp. The store I bought it from told me not to do that. Use a splitter

This one stayed cool during the entire test, but the fan was on the entire test and it was loud imo

I've got a preproduction power series 8k that is going into my build, kind of a hybrid between the evo2 and the production power 8800

Make sure your clamp meter supports dc,most of them read ac amps only
@@ricgaming917 of course the clamp meter reads DC. I would not have bought it otherwise. The mechanics in my area say that I shouldn't be getting a reading that matches the full output rating of my alternator
I just bought the same amp, and have stock 90amp alternator, a redtop optima in the front and a northstar agm31 in the back.
I haven´t install it yet, do you think i might have to change my alt, add another battery or both?
Depends on how you use the amp. If you listen to a lot of bass heavy music then you will need bigger alt
If you have the money to spend, It never hurts to go ahead and swap it for at least a 140amp alt. If anything your batteries and car electronics will love it.
See If you can find an old school lanzar vibe 1200d amp. It was black with a orange logo in the middle. I think it was 1ohm a stable but I believe I ran it at .5 ohm (or maybe just once...lol) always wondered how much power it really had. Also I had an old school California series amp it was white with a long red light in the middle (can't remember who made it) I just remember having it in my 86 Monte Carlo with two jl 10s and I mean BUMBING....LOL long time ago
that California amp was a Profile amp, they used to have it in the crutchfield catalog back in the 90s next to the US Acoustics amps, I miss my old US Acoustics setup, and that was in the back of a '87 Monte lol

Ive heard good things about in on some forums its an old school amp i believe 2002 version. I wanna see a dyno on it cuz ive just seen the bmf version the newer model

So D! Thanks for getting this guy up there! I had been bugging you for a little while to test one of these SD 3k's! You always deliver! So I was looking at using a 2ohm version of this amp as an upgrade to power a pair of older model Fi SSD 10's in order to have a little bit of headroom because they don't quite need a full 1500w per sub. So what is your opinion of this? I wanted a small high power amp to fit in my pick up truck since there isn't a lot of space to keep a big fat amp out of the way and protected from normal truck use. What do you say? Should I go for it? Or there a better option that is no larger than the SD that perhaps I should look at? Thanks again for the video, and I look forward to hearing your opinion.
Give me some time for an in car review. Something about these Brazilian amps that just sounds “thin” to me, but maybe I’m just crazy. I’ll report back hopefully in a few weeks

How about if you make a sort of table or ranking showing "dollars per watts" or something like that... based on all tests you have been doing, we can see some amps are really better than others, but do they worth what they cust? I really can't tell it! It will help us to choose from an overpriced amp to another affordable one. Peace!

anthony John the 3k is actually just two apcl put together internally that is why it is only two ohm stable so I could imagine it would be close to double its usual output

it has very simple settings... cross over (lpf and hpf) and gain

I had this amp hooked up to 2 skars 10's EVL and l though my cars was going to come apart

Cristian Nieto either (2) 10” or (2)12” But they can’t be too deep. They have to fit into the saddle bags. Whole bag will be sealed off as an enclosure. Budget ... hopefully no more then $1500. Total For 2 speakers
