I currently own one of these W--4500.1's and it is absolutely amazing. I received it out of the first batch of pre-orders i absolutely love it. i have it powering a Crescendo Contralto 15" Dual 4 ohm wired at 2 ohms and it is beyond impressive! And not only that but the customer service is absolutely wonderful. Colin seems to be a really good, guy and he runs a great company very well! i highly recommend any product from them!
Hey Ryan, thanks to you, after watching your video yesterday I purchased this amplifier utilizing the the 10% discount. it is on back order until May 31 but it"s worth the wait.
After this video I ordered 2 of these Gems. I run them gain matched@1ohm on 2 Wolframaudio AU15'S D2 in a shared enclosure. Absolutely insane for a daily driver. Does hairtricks and over 150db. I got them for 530$ each the prices have gone up since then. If you can wait a few months for it too arrive this is a bad ass amplifier. Korean made similar to the old Twisted Sounds 3.5k. Lots of people have them wired @0.5 without problems.
I just watched the amp dyno of the 4.5k crescendo amp and the wolfram put out a lot more power at a lower voltage. I'm very impressed with this amp and can't wait to get mine.
Car audio has come a long way. You don't need Fosgate's. Then again their amps have come down in price as well as quality. Awesome amp, awesome video. Thanks.
Thats a high end amp company and this amp can be wired to .5 is a daily . Pure quality amp brand here. 100 quality here folks it will do about 20 % more power than its rated for and last 20 years .

Shaun Jay well the smd forums say otherwise, nobodys really done a dyno of the amp yet , I think I'm gonna take my chances with the wolfram 4.5k it's only 600$ and does 5k unclipped at 1 ohm
rob shekelberg I think the smd forums biggest complaint was the 10% THD. In which the 4500 is listed in the spec sheet to have 10%THD strapped, and even in the forum I don't recall anyone putting it on the dyno. At this point I think it's pretty much a Q1-3500 with a minor upgrade in the windings... We still deserve a real world test. Until then we're speculating.. I'm trying find out if I should sell it and go with the apocalypse 4k or 5500.

Id also like to know the amp draw on these wolfram amps you have dyno tested. The vids are awesome and these amps have me wanting 1, but none of that is any good if my car wont power it.
I have a amp recommendation, it's a 5 channel. The soundstream RN5.2000. under $250 and based on the xover can be used as a 3 way active setup with the sub channel actually running the front midbass drivers. Would love to see if this does rated
hifivega I thought the voltage held up really well with such a big amplifier on the bench. He has a far better setup than Skar. They were barely able to power thier RP 4500 Dyno runs.
no clipping light is a deal breaker for me, that shows u that it's an older designed board, they probably bought the old leftovers. the clip light is a very nice feature to have, and soon most all amps will have them, I always play my subs at max, right up to where the clip light flashes then back down a tad.. and my clip light is dead on with the smd dd1.. nice power for ptice per watt though
I own one of these amps, the best amp I ever owned, also the most I've ever spent on a amp. It well worth the money I spent, I currently running in series/parallel on (2) "12" Skar ZVX 1 ohm versions. Man this thing beats, with box rise I'm well over 1 ohm maybe 2, I'm thinking of wiring down to a .25 ohm. I'll update you if I do. I highly recommend this amp if you can get your hands on one.

@@Mendieta991 Yes it still going strong, about a week after that first post I changed my wiring to parallel/parallel. I'm sitting @ .3 ohm, with box rise I'm probably @ .8 or so, as long as you run it without clipping or distortion you should be fine. Make sure you give her a enough power as well, I'm running a stock alternator and a 200 ah lithium bank I built myself. Still a highly recommended amp IMO, hope this helps.

I think this amp has good power for the price but to me I still think the Precision Power black ice is still the best deal I mean you can get 6000 Watts uncertified from 2 amps for under six hundred bucks!
And lets talk about amperage. The current draw on this thing is probably extensive. However, since they sent it to you to test, whats to say that that particular amp for general consumers are not built to the same standard as the one they sent you? A bait and switch so to speak because manufactures do that.
why would they put a adjustable subsonic all the way up to 60hz? i dont see why anyone would ever put the subsonic even over 40. 10-30hz seems like plenty and easier to dial in.

Trapperjohn1000 I would have to imagine your amp is similar in output to this amp and the other good Korean 4500's. A lot of them seem to hit 5k or a little more @ 1 ohm.
Have you by chance been able to test their smaller models like the 1500 or 3000? Should I be able to assume that those would test similarly to the 4500?

Ryan, I think it's time to dyno some of those Sony Xplod amps. I know, friends don't let friends buy Sony, but I see them all the time. I would like to know if they really make the power they advertise.
There is no doubt the Wolframs perform. I have had my fingers in a 4500.1 and a 2500.1 and one of the big issues I have with them is the 85 degree celceous caps. Now any one that knows anything about caps knows you don't even get half the life as say a 105 or bigger. There are a few areas they went cheap on, but for the price they are a good buy. Long as you get a decent warranty. For the couple hundred extra I will stay with my splx Orions.
Yeah I actually pulled the back of my Wolfram off and compared it to my apocalypse aak55001d... The Wolfram is junk compared to the Apocalypse. My Wolfram 4500 clips into protect also if you're not careful. They also get rather warm for having a built-in fan. They're ok. I own it you get what you pay for.
Stupid question, but I'm a noob to this. I notice in every test you do the amps start clipping at 13.8 volts, does this mean when I'm in my car full tilt and my voltage drops below 13.8 my amp is clipping?

Korean amps will and have always lasted longer, while putting out more power(at same voltage) than Chinese amps
It's an outstanding amp. Been running mine daily on two Sundown X 12's at 0.5 OHM.

How does it perform in Thd and dampening? Power is great but I tend to feel a lot of these amps are nothing more than power inverters....
