I distinctly remember trying out the last generation C Class when it first came out, I was working for Mercedes at the time. Shocked to say the least, 2005 Mercedes don’t creak but 2020 ones do. For those who haven’t experienced it, it’s not a small thing at all, the interior feels like cheap plastic that will shatter if you hit it harder, worst quality interior out of any premium car.
GhostSniper0219 that’s called working around the problem 😂 I plan on getting a ZL1 in the near future but realistically compared to other cars its visibility is like that of a WWII bunker

Great video, as usual! I love seeing material quality being tested during reviews because so few do! More reviewers need to call out cheap creaking materials in vehicles; especially the expensive ones! If you can touch panels and hear noises, it will only get worse over time. I've literally traded in vehicles because they creaked. In my experience, Cadilac and Mercedes have been really bad about this, amongst others. Now I test every vehicle by pressing and moving everything I can get my hands on and even finding steep driveways to flex the chassis and listen for creaks and pops. Some vehicles also have poor chassis rigidity, which will absolutely amplify cheap creaking materials. Totally unacceptable.
You are SO RIGHT about the Mercedes creaking. I have a GLC 300. The creaking was driving me crazy to the point that I was seriously considering selling it. But! Out of desperation and a last ditch effort I tried something unconventional, perhaps even wrong… but it worked! I applied a quick light spray of WD-40 in the seams of the center console (and wiped away overspray and drips). BINGO! That immediately and permanently solved the problem. My GLC 300 has been creak-free for over 2 years now. Another tip: My Mercedes has open-pore wood trim. Every few months I spray a good quality furniture polish (Scott’s Liquid Gold) on to a rag and wipe it on the wood.
Anthony José you ever sit in one? By far the mosh beautiful interior and by far the best compromise between sportyiness and luxury. Its ofc sad that they undergone such a construction mistake but its only a small drawback
@@maximilianbuy142 I had one. It's amazing the luxury, but that's just a cover up for what's underneath. Crappy, crappy cars. Mine was in the shop all the time.
THe dumb thing about that is it costs like almost nothing to fix it. You just need to put some cloth under these panels. A lot of guys in forums do it and it costs like 10 euros if you can do it yourself and there is 0 squeeking left. I don´t get why they don´t install that. It´s not really a cost problem.

@@jamesparson I got a 2020 one. I got lucky where I didn't get any panel gaps but my car was delivered with scratches and dents on the chrome. I saw another user have a 2020 model 3 that leaked water into the cabin bc it was raining. So yea... it still not that good. It also varies unfortunately
I own a tesla and yes the model 3 does leak water. I own a model x and it is quite good. Glad I came across this video regarding the Mercedes creaks. I took delivery of a 2022 GLC43 last April and the door sills, center stack etc have all creaked to the touch and I thought about taking it back to the dealership but it was too far a drive. It's bothered me since I took delivery of the car. I'm not glad it creaks but I'm glad that it's normal. In contrast, I also have a 20 X3 M40i and have had a 21 SQ5, 17 Macan S and 18 708 Cayman S. NONE of them creaked to the touch. All had solid feeling interiors. Keep up the good work my dudes!

I feel like the complaint is a bit moot when I usually have my phone connected to the stereo and if available just use the seek buttons on the steering wheel to control my music, which is something I assume any modern Lexus can do if my mom's 2012 Juke can do it.
All i can say that people are way to much overreacting on lexus infotaiment. It take some time to get used to it, after that its no different than bmw i drive. My biggest grief that they moved all seat controls to infotainment, like seat ventilation.
some of these are absolute dealbreakers. The CT5, in particular. Also the MB interior creaks. Creaks are the things that will slowly drive you to hate the vehicle. I thought for sure the Blackwing's horrid push-plastic interior would've made the cut, but perhaps that was last year. The terrible interior design is the sole reason (and wastegate, and manufacturer support, and...) I didn't purchase an ATS-V. Great cars, but little flaws that will become maddening over time. Keep up the great work and stay safe
I have a Tesla...and anytime anyone says anything possibly-halfway uncomplimentary about Tesla.....the Tesla Twitter/TH-cam/whatever army jumps on them. Many of whom don't even have Teslas.
It is sad, but I saw a hood gap that was very noticeable on a Tesla. I was going the opposite way and was at a traffic light. I wouldn't have accepted that car. I don't understand the issue given the fact that a computer should be able to scan the car and see these issues. Most euro brands look like they just use a piece of plastic to check the gaps.
My first thought to the RS3 was "why the hell wasn't the car equipped with the sport differential? My S5 has zero understeer with it!" See it as a blessing. You can either be broke. Or you can be broke and have a constant headache. Most people driving these cars can't afford them. One of the most destructive habits of life is pride. People do extremely stupid and self destructive stuff in the name of image.

The Mercedes Creaking is actually true. I have the c43 coupe with the carbon fibre pack in the interior and you can really hear it sometimes. I din't pay much attention to it, until now, so thanks for that.
NickMilan I blame it on the idea that Merc/Audi/BMW aren’t real “luxury” cars. Their premium cars. Slightly more than a Buick, but the reality is that a Rolls/Bently/Century are real luxury cars that are made with real quality materials. German cars just have nice touches and decent engineering, but people way overblow the German luxury idea to make themselves feel more important and wealthy than they actually are.
Alfs Awful of course they are, every car is. But the engineering and the materials behind them still are very expensive. Merc engineers are on the most paid engineers over all

The low build quality of Tesla is what keeps me from getting one. My current vehicle is a 2021 BMW X5 45e (PHEV) and I’d rather have a 100% electric vehicle. I am glad more OEMs are going EV so there will be quality options in 2 years when I get my next vehicle. I don’t see Tesla getting their build quality up to the level needed by then, YT it would be nice to be wrong.
As the somewhat proud owner of a C class - the creeks are very very real. Lots of rattling too when driving on bumpy roads - and this is a brand new car too mind you. Super disappointing when they look so nice and drive so well.
I love the GT500, but it actually has two weaknesses; the launch control, and the fact that Ford limited it to 180 mph/286 kph, even though it could do over 200 mph/322 kph. I know they said that’s the fastest speed most cars achieve on race track across America, but once in a while you do want to flex about your top speed, particularly to Nissan GTR owners.
The Mercedes thing is real. Whenever I go to a car show and sit in one I am always shocked at how cheap everything feels. If they fixed that problem, they would be absolutely perfect cars. But it would ruin the experience if you spent that much money

Late model CLA's feel cheaper built than a honda civic😂
The quality of what you two can muster together during quarantine is amazing. 🍸 simply the best! 🖤
Honorable mention: Camaro and visibility
camaros visibility really isnt bad lol. you just gotta set your mirrors right and pay attention to your surroundings as you should
GhostSniper0219 no, it's just hella bad.
GhostSniper0219 that’s called working around the problem 😂 I plan on getting a ZL1 in the near future but realistically compared to other cars its visibility is like that of a WWII bunker
Any sports car= bad visibility
CrimsonStang I’ve had one and it’s not bad, it’s called get off your phone and pay attention 🤣
That Tesla segment was accurate. 😂👌🏾
Yeah they feel miles cheaper than mercedes
@@maddeningmonk9585 let me guess never been in the European or Chinese model 3, you must be from America, the american build teslas suck in build quality, and still with that bad build quality tesla is bigger than mercedes and as a 96% costumer satisfaction, when Mercedes is 80%, don't believe check the numbers yourself. Also I love the fact that Mercedes is included in the video for bad build quality after 50+ years of production, and you still go after tesla lmao.

Great that you managed to find a solution. However, you have to admit that it´s not acceptable to sell Pringles inside.

He paused the world with his controller and came to check by itself what you were doing perhaps

That Mercedes thing is just awfully awful! No excuses for that. They really have to up their game because right now, they’re really bad.

Although the rubber things that prevent water comming in are really crooked and looked like it was put in with no care. The driving and everything was great it's just the build quality that's not very good for me.
Great channel. And thanks for showing the creaking mercedes. Something I notice already 10 years ago. I always depressed my mercedes driving friends with this. I've always driven BMW, which has a really good build quality. Now I drive a Tesla model S. Even with the bad build quality it doesn't creak!👍😁
Keep up the good work my dudes!

some of these are absolute dealbreakers.

Hahaha. “Tesla build quality is abismal”.

The most crippling weakness is I cannot afford them
See it as a blessing. You can either be broke. Or you can be broke and have a constant headache. Most people driving these cars can't afford them. They lease, finance, pay them off in years, lose in depreciation and repairs, and before they know it they're in a worse shape than before the purchase. One of the most destructive habits of life is pride. People do extremely stupid and self destructive stuff in the name of image.

NickMilan They still are very expensively made but its some kind of construction mistake
Chris Humphrey I think you are right for the lower end cars. But an S class for example or an S63 is just amazing. Totally comparable to a bentley
Alfs Awful of course they are, every car is. But the engineering and the materials behind them still are very expensive. Merc engineers are on the most paid engineers over all
