The 986 is such a good deal for an enthusiast, especially a pre 2003 model (early models only have two catalytic converters). It's one of the last analog sports cars. No throttle by wire, no traction control. Just a fantastic chassis and fun engine in a car that you can cruise at 100mph with the top down and have a conversation (its shockingly quiet) and go carve corners with ease. It's also super easy to work on and a very simple car, all the components are easily accessible despite the mid engine layout. Change your IMS when you change the clutch and you're good.
If you’re going to suffer the downfalls of an E38, get the V12 750iL. There’s already no turning back. Or, you could get a 2006 Audi A8 4.2 for $900 with a collapsed suspension, fix it, and sell for $6000. I’ve seen it happen.
I am honestly so surprised that I saw my car in one of these videos ^.^. I have never seen anyone talk about the Lexus LS 430 before and it really made me feel happy to see them appreciate it so much. I was fortunate enough to inherit mine from 2003 with only 32k miles on it and it now only has 43k. It's an absolute gem, thanks guys for talking about it!
There's probably 50 unique car models you could put on this list lol. People buy them for that exact reason, to look rich because the up-front cost is cheap enough. Which I don't judge if that's what makes you happy, go for it. However 95% of them simply aren't car guys, or they didn't do their research. They realize pretty soon they can't afford to own the car or maintain it (usually both), so they either run it into the ground, or quickly try to flip it.
LOL!! You're not far off the mark. My mom called any flashy car a "Camaro." The key difference is that she'd never ask. Outside of their use as a utility for transportation, she had zero interest in cars. Your concept is brilliant because most people, and a plurality of women simply don't care enough to be able to make minute distinctions. So either go with something that 'looks' the part' or buy the most affordable vehicle with a badge that people assume are baller. Case in point. Some dude in an $85,000 truck truck calling out a guy in a crappy entry-level Beamer as a "rich prick." That's the power of brands.
The Clarkson Jaaaaag's were spot on. lol Also.. as I was once told. You can 'own' a BMW, Porsche, Lexus, Jaaaaaag etc But can you AFFORD them? Parts are still the original pricing, as are the maintainence items. I totally understand what you're saying... I've looked at some of them myself. But then I looked at my wallet and had to go Japanese reliability and more importantly, affordability. ;)
The only car I'd buy is the Ls430 lol, i guess i'm biased because i own one exactly like the one they showed. probably the most underrated car Lexus produced, these cars will run forever with proper maintenance.
The Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 definitely belongs on this list. I got mine for a whopping $4,000, but when people see that I have a red, two seat, collectors plate Mercedes convertible they automatically assume I spent at least 5 times that. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I haven't had any issues with the car other than minor maintenance during my ownership either. This also applies to later generation SLKs, but those cost a bit more.
Siddhartha Parekh -- Like I said, my personal experience has been very good, but from what I've heard others haven't had as good of a time. Parts are kinda expensive and I know the convertible top is prone to issues so if you do buy one I'd suggest having an extra $1000 saved for maintenance. Get it inspected before you buy it and hopefully you'll be fine.
'11 and up Jaguar XJL Supercharged, pure class, 4.4 second to 60 470 hp V8, great handling and stunning in caviar/wheat. Yes, it's reliable. Bought it in Florida in'17, did nothing other than basic maintenance, zero complaints. Now I am enjoying the hell out of it in Antalya/Turkey. Yes Jags can be problematic but "only" the XJs 95-98, 01-09, 11 and up V8 models are bulletproof especially SC engines with beefed up internals. Rest of the Jags I wouldn't touch with a 10' pole.
The biggest flex about me owning an E46 is the tremendous amount of money I have put into it to make it look good and run great. They are fantastic cars but make sure previous owners have records or you will end up swapping all the faults out one by one...
My cheap luxory whip: 2011 Mercedes Benz ML350 4matic. Bought it a few years back for $15k and it had all the upgrades, even ones I don't need like the backseat TVs. It has been extremely reliable and has never failed me a single time. The ride is superb, it is very safe and filled with airbags, and the engine is strong. I'm already at 125k miles and i'm confident I'll double it. Even though the body style is almost 15 years old, people always think it's a 2015 or 2016. A coworker even said she thought I probably paid $50k for it!
If you buy a car only for your image, you definitely have some sort of problems or insecurities. From what I know, nothing costs more than a cheap European luxury car.

How does this bitcoin of a thing works, honestly am interested in it,and am ready to invest heavily on it,but I need assistant from any productive professional.
In 2000, when I was 24-years old and worked as a long-distance truck-driver, I decided to start living “large” and invest my meagre savings in an 11-year old BMW 840i with 286,000 km on the clock. I ignored the worrying yet color-full array of check-engine lights and spent another bag of cash on 18” alloys and a custom exhaust from Abarth. Let’s just say that this car has been a relentless assault on my budget for every day I owned it (about 2 years), and a wrecking-ball for my mental health for several years after I got rid of the damn thing. It was the best looking car I ever had, was nice to drive (when it decided to do so) and the interior was really cool, although the driver seats had the tendency to break...suddenly you were flat on your back, trying to hold on to your steering wheel at a cruising speed of 200 km/h. Than you had to pull the seat back up, move it back and forth a few times, and suddenly the mechanism clicked back into place and the seat was “fine”....till the next surprise-fail. Engine-problems were...of a staggering variety and often traumatic price. Problems with electronics were a daily companion. The sunroof would open reliably, the difficult bit came afterwards, often when it was pouring with rain. The electric windows would open and close when they felt like it...in one case they even opened themselves, and the sunroof, when the engine wasn’t even running and I wasn’t in the car. BMW-mechanic said I was crazy but it happened one more time and than never again...after changing one of the electronic “brains” in the engine-bay for about 2,000€. I can’t begin to sum up a complete list of failures and costs but let’s just say that I payed several thousands of euros for parts I didn’t even know they existed. And many more euros on other, more common, parts that broke not one but several times, were very pricey, and often an absolute ball-ache to install. In the end I swapped it for a 1995 Toyota Carina GTI with 233,000km on the clock...best thing that ever happened to me. The guy begged me over and over afterwards to get his Toyota back... Although I intended to use the Carina for only a few months (till my next automotive disaster would appear on scene) I kinda liked certain features of the car. Things like being able to start the engine and drive home. Every single time you wanted to. Again and again, with no more hustle than turning the key....I was head over heels. So much that I drove the Toyota another two years and later on it was used by my wife till 2016....when it was 21 years old, had 423,000km on the clock and was sold for 1,000€ for export to Africa.

If you’re going to suffer the downfalls of an E38, get the V12 750iL. There’s already no turning back. Or, you could get a 2006 Audi A8 4.2 for $900 with a collapsed suspension, fix it, and sell for $6000. I’ve seen it happen.
Good to see my Mirabeau Blue Baby in number #3 🤘 thanks guys
When James says baller, for some reason it sounds like Ebola to me. “If you buy this car you, you will look Ebola...”
I can't help but hear anything other than that now, I hate you 😂
With the old 7 series it's probably not entirely innaccurate- you're definitely going to catch something from the previous owner in most cases.
Lol that's exactly what I thought I heard at first too....lol
swapped out the air for coils, and my 2002 ls 430 has been perfect for the past 3.5 years. Only one worth getting on the list
Love my 2006 Ultra Luxury 🔥
Lilrick96 Me too looks of a S class with a powerful engine and nice speed with great reliability 😎
I have a 2004 LS430. Best car I've ever owned. Everything works just like it did it's first day.
That LS430 🥺❤️.
Better then the S class and 7 series. You only thing I like about the S class is the engine and that will be a nightmare to maintain
yupp i luv my 02 ls430
LS430 💪🏾🔥 I own a 2006 UL. Probably the best, well rounded luxury sedan ever made. Keeping it forever.
Lilrick96 Me too 😎
Lilrick96 That S class look with great reliability the best big body looking LS ever bro 😎💪🏾💪🏾
2 years been watching these guys and I still don't know their names.

"I pulled Paul in the pool"!!
Holy Shit! I literally had to stop the video 🤣🤣🤣
10:40 Doug Demuro - “ I’d rather eat a ream of paper.”
I've eaten paper, and my Maser in the vid is a lot more fun
The Clarkson Jaaaaag's were spot on. lol
Also.. as I was once told.
When this quarantine and pandemic is over what is one car you’re looking forward to driving

Came back a year later and guess what, that G55 is still for sale at the same dealership but they raised the price!
The Cadillac Escalade should've been on the list. Otherwise, love the line about constantly repairing your fence to keep out all the ladies! lol.
just day 1 and im bingeing on this channel, the funniest and best car review online.
Bentley will require some upkeep, yeah upkeeping the fence around house for all these ladies- literally died here xd
Thank you for your good content. I am your fan from Thailand. Please, create good content cheap car video again. Love it, Ballar car😀🥰🪴
How reliable is it? I’m in the market for a cheap convertible and I don’t know where to go.
That's one and only merc i would like to own in my life. And the W126. And W463. And W222 eventually
It's a Merc SLK and it's red ... are you a man? 😀
Zs B -- Nah, I'm a female hairdresser 😉. Maybe one day I'll upgrade to a black SLK 55 AMG or BMW Z4 and become a man.
2010 - 2012 Porsche Panamera?
I want these 2 guys and Camisa to do Top Gear ⚙️
And Chris Harris .
Heck of a show would be .
One thing is a must with these types of list
Maserati is a must.
The biggest flex about me owning an E46 is the tremendous amount of money I have put into it to make it look good and run great. They are fantastic cars but make sure previous owners have records or you will end up swapping all the faults out one by one...
The E46 is not a baller car ...
The point is to be a baller, not to look like one.
Obviously this video is not for you, big baller.
Why are you here if you don't want to LOOK like a baller?
@@icey5515"Good," "point."
Zin With these cars you‘re still poor, but you‘re getting robbed like wealthy people XD
The point of being a baller is to actually look like one. You are doing it for the image. Not for yourself
You could have changed the name of video to: "The 9 most unreliable cars which cost the most to maintain". The only 1 I would buy is the Lexus.
"Endless money pit"
- Scotty Kilmer
@Boss ` ikr, and I am just a kid and I think he is crazy
@Boss ` the real reason why Scotty is crazy is because he always tells people to avoid Mercedes and bmw when they always show good crash results.
The Bentley should've been first place. That G class looks like it's from the second war
I'm surprised the Ghibli didn't make the cut
OMG
I pictured scotty making a reaction video to this. Just imagine the never-ending laugh.😂
Yes!! I've got the 2012 XF. Such a bargain it's no-brainer nowadays.
If you buy a car only for your image, you definitely have some sort of problems or insecurities.
From what I know, nothing costs more than a cheap European luxury car.
That goes for houses, clothes, vacations you take....not only cars. And most people do it, because they do care about their image.
Boss I don’t think vacations really cut the list
@@vedanttaneja4428 Absolutely they do. So many people brag abut the places they visited and so on. Anything that one can brag about or show off belongs on the list.
Boss no one goes on a vacation just to brag that they went on a vacation 😂
@@vedanttaneja4428 You cannot be serious. Of course they do. Documenting your trips around the globe on social media is the replacement for the old "I got a fancy car" when it comes to people obsessed with image. The need for attention is real and comes in many forms.

2009 Mercedes clk350 convertible. My dad has one and he gets looks all the time and it is actually a nice car, never had issues. He got his slightly used in 2010 and up until 2016 or so people still thought it was a new car. You can pick one up with less than 30k miles for around 20k. If you wana shell out more money you can get the 550 with the V8 too.
“Yeah, no. That’s never happened. Don’t tell him that.” Hahahaha!😂
What is pretty amazing is that you did a really good job of giving an example of 10 cheap cars that may make me look like a Baller. So good job. Here I go, just after this with a thumbs up. AF
LS 430. 4 thumbs up. Spent a couple of months late last summer searching all over the US for the right LS 430 to be my winter Lower 48 car. Ended up getting an SL 500 with only 24,003 miles on it. Hoping the air suspension doesn't go out during my ownership.
Dave Riley Lexus Lame
Jaguar seems the best out of the list
There is no such thing as "balling on a budget"
The whole point of ballin is that you DONT have a budget.
Here comes the middle class trying to act like they are rich again ...haha
And yet you're watching this video...
Middle Class here. if you live outside of expensive cities and can't afford a house... well, get a cheap flat and start to ball around in a nice car.
You most certainly can ball on a budget, just stick to the damn budget
You’re wrong. Rich people get rich making and sticking to their budget.
People like that only visit Miami Memorial weekend. What type of living is that?
I was looking at the Jaguar XF AWD from this generation while watching this video lol

Lexus & Toyota and Acura are luxury i'll buy. Yes Toyato does make 200MPH car.
"There is no more expensive vehicle than a cheap luxurious old (German) car" :)
2007-2012 LS460 could have made it on this list...got mine for 9.5k
As always, a funny but informative video.
However, just found one mis-info about the Jaggg.
You guys suggested the 2012 XF for 12k, which is correct. But it only comes with a 3.0 V6 RWD. For 3k more and you can get an AWD. The 5.0 V8 you mentioned, is the XF-R which costs between 25k to 30k for a 2012 in Canada.
“ According to a study done by researchers at Experian Automotive (and published on Forbes), 61% of wealthy people actually drive Hondas and Toyotas and Fords, just like all the rest of us.
The top 10 cars for $250,000-plus households include the Mercedes E-class, the Lexus RX 350 and the BMW 5 series and 3 series. Following those top four were three Hondas, a Toyota, an Acura and a Volkswagen. “
