  • We are taking the LS powered restomod 1965 Impala Super Sport one step further by installing a full modular coilover suspension system from Ridetech. This car has had several different suspension components on it over the years, from air ride, to spring coils, and a few different coilovers as well. Nick finally decided to do the most drastic upgrade to date: to install the full Ridetech, including new sway bars, upper and lower control arms, new coilovers, and a new panhard rod.
    We walk you through the install, motorweek style, and the reasons why we chose this kit to take this Classic muscle cars handling to a whole new level

    Great video, thanks for sharing the installation of this amazing kit. This Ridetech kit for our 65 looks really amazing, unfortunately too expensive.

    I have a 1970. I think UMI also makes a great rear suspension set.

    I have a 66 and was looking at the QA1 kit, first thing I noticed was the rear coil over mounts. I did not like that either. You didn't go into the sway bar install much. Thanks for sharing!

    Great content Nick . Over the pond we call those "r" joints "rose joints" . The're commonly fitted on race prepared cars . I believe they tend to transmit a harsher ride than the standard set up . But as you've commented the new system is custom made and the difference in handling must be very noticeable and enhanced . I guess the shockabsorbers are adjustable so may take a while to set up. And the gearbox must enhance and capture the engine performance that compliments the suspension mods ........the perfect sleeper ! Thanks Nick

    Just got this kit installed in my 65 and the ride height is a little high. Is it fairly easy to make adjustments by lowering the adjuster nut or is this best left to pros in the shop?

    Incredible, Nick! Your videos have inspired me many times to get out working at my own 65 build. I have much of the same restomod plan as you, are you still happy with the headers and exhaust you have? Cheers!

    I was thinking QA1...until now! I am only going with coil overs and not the full kit.

    Quick question for the front muscle bar did you drill new holes for the mount or did you use the factory holes?

    Looks like your running drop spindle. How is the drop spindle/coil over combo working out. Thinking of doing same.

    • @ClassicNation
      @ClassicNation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, I had drooped spindles from my pervious setup, but when switching to this Ridetech setup, I switched back to original height spindles. Works perfect and still has the nice low stance I was after with the coil-overs. Hope that helps!
