Fitting 18s On My 67 Fastback Project

- In this video I will be putting on my 18 inch wheels finally to get a better idea of the stance and how wide of a tire I can fit in the rear. The Nittos are looking nice.
Now that I have my 1967 Fastback now is the beginning of my restomod restoration. I plan to do a coyote swap with a Whipple Supercharged 3rd gen coyote motor w/ a Tremec T56 manual transmission. I am looking to team up for a sponsorship with different companies that would like to be represented in my build such as TCI, Mustangs To Fear, Wilwood, CJ Pony Parts, Forgeline, dakota digital and dynamat to name a few. I have p305/45R18s on the back of my mini tubbed 67 fast back. I had to section the wheel well openings. to accommodate the outer diameter of the tire. 1 inch. Unless you tuck the tires in deeper but doing that didn’t look right. Your car is looking good with what you already have. I had brand new quarter panels on the car and had to buy two repair panels for the 1” opening extension. Just a heads up. I wish I could show you photos of what it looks like and what it took to do it. It was worth it for me but I built the car to fit the tires. Good luck go mustang.

These aren’t the finals wheel and tire set, but with the mini tub and the rear end narrowed 2 inches on each side I should be able to get some good width tires back there
@@JBVisionMedia I didn’t want to leave the rear tires outer rear face in so deep. What I ran into with the taller tire. 29.5” outer diameter by 12” I have plenty of tub left with a mini tub built for the tire. The curve inward at the back bottom or the wheel opening the tire would have rubbed. And to clear it the tires had to be to far in from the wheel well. I’m just saying put your car at ride height and test fit the tire you want to use without a wheel in the opening. You’ll see what I’m talking about. Good luck brother 👍👊

I had that same problem with the caps on front brakes. We had to machine the Wilwood dust caps to make them work. I have pictures if you want to check them out let me know and I could send them to you via email. Funny thing, your video just reminded me that I will have to do this again since I bought the same brake kit for the 67 FB build we are working on.
Lol now you know exactly what to do for this 67 FB build you working on. I think it will be fine like this for now because these won’t be my final wheels and when I do get my final wheels hopefully I won’t have the same problem since they will be more custom fit for my build. How is the FB build coming along?

I have a 65 fast back and want to put 18x8 rims in back and 17x7 in front. What are the largest/widest tires I can put on these size rims?
Looking pretty good. Are the fronts adjustable coil overs to drop the rake some? Which wheels are those?
Yea the front are adjustable. The are FR500 wheels
