  • Starting off from the Morning Glory Hut, we head back across the Macallister River and north past Licola on the Tamboritha Rd and then onto Moroka Rd to revisit Mt Wellington.
After that we push up to the Pinnacles before heading over towards the Castleburn Spur track to head down towards Crooked River.
Another mechanical failure means we don't get to where we're going and the trip home is very long and slow....

That bath would be the perfect spot for a dip and that bikini thumbnail shot you've been meaning to do :D Character and comradery is built in hardship and challenges. Looks like you blokes worked as a great team to get out. Thanks for sharing!

Great stuff Jason, you left out Matt’s vehicle getting a belly rub in the McAllister River 😁.
Great voice over, not many people do this👌.
Bring on the 76 cruzer, better and a stronger workhorse 👍.

Great video Jason well done mate. Don’t worry you won’t have any of these issues with a cruiser or patrol, with all due respect they’re just much more robust for this kind of travelling 💪
see you out the VHC one day mate👍

And l guess that the last we see of the Pajero, fitting trip, pity it blew a transfer case through.

Not quite mate... still a lot of trips to edit in the Paj. Last trip was start of May :-) Pretty epic as well.

Im thinking the explosion of the transfercase could be due to traction control. Braking wheels

That's about the only theory I haven't heard before... no one seems to know why it happens just that those who use their Pajero heavily off road will break them over time (and it varies) I heard from one guy who's on his 5th one.

Is the TC a known weak point on these? Doing two in 35k seems a bit down the leg side. Also wheel bearings every 30k?

Not particularly bit most don't drive them as hard as I do. Same with wheel bearings most will tell you they easily get 100,000 plus out of a set

What was the story on the transfer case Jase? Was it under warranty, being it had only done 30,000? Thanks again, cheers, BobbyB.

Local mits dealer wouldn't commit either way and this happened about 5th Jan. They said they couldn't look at it till 20th of Feb.
I got a replacement through a wrecker from a low mileage paj.

@@OffTheBeatenPathAus Damn, sounds an expensive outcome unfortunately. The new truck should see you alright I reckon, and look forward to watching the build and getting it on the tracks too.👍

@@bobbyb9371 thx mate yeah all adds up, wheel bearings on the paj about every 35000km at $450 each plus labour, transfer case reconditioned was about $900 plus another $300 for freight plus $1000 labour to pull out the old one and install the new one.
