    The narrative that college sucks and trades rule has jumped the shark. FB is ate up with people acting like if you're in the trades, you've made it in life. Working with your brain>>>>working with your back.

      Same thing happened from the late 90s to 2010s with the push for engineering and science majors.. Or the 2010s and forward with the push for more CS or tech majors.. Let's flood the market to suppress wages, while simultaneously making these specific workers feel prideful and superior.

      @@AsviniKumar4747 I have a bit of a conspiracy theory that large corp is being the movement. In recent years, big money has been buying up hvac, plumbing and electric business. This has been really happening in hvac. Those large companies need employees and they'd rather not have to pay them much. So what better way to flood the market with applicants than to start up a propaganda campaign on social media? Same for the cheap labor that is pouring across the border. Call it a "humanitarian" cause but they really just want low wage employees.

      College is bullshit for most. I totally agree with you. A good half of the people attending most universities would be better served not attending. But there’s still that other half that do benefit greatly from attending. I am not going to be telling my children to go to college. I’m a tell them to think about what career they want and then do the steps required to be successful in that career. Which college may be part of that.
      In regards to Jared Williams, his channel is way the fuck bigger than mine. I’m trying to siphon off his viewers lol. I want to get a full on feud with this dude it would make my day if he would try to destroy one of my videos , I want the smoke.

    • @brasshouse9822
      @brasshouse9822  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I have no issue with him charging what he charges. He charges $610 an hour actually. My problem is his predatory practices. He doesn’t present himself as the most expensive plumber in town. He presents himself as an affordable and friendly local plumber. He does everything he can to hide the ball from the customer and not let them know what he’s going to charge them until the last moment after he’s already got them to agree to his $93 diagnostic fee which he will happily make them pay if they don’t wanna pay his more than double the competitions price. The people who call him do not know that they are calling the most expensive plumber in town. If they were to have all the info, they would be very upset and would wish they called someone else. It’s unethical.

      @rustybridges4302 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, thanks for replying back. I appreciate it even if we might disagree about some small inconsequential thing.
      I’m not in plumbing, but I’m in another service industry where we go into peoples houses and do service calls. I won’t be specific but we don’t charge a diagnostic fee and I give away a lot of free information that I figured out in 20 years doing this. Sometimes I tell people the price and they don’t want to put that type of money into it so I’m left with no money for the time I invested in going to the house and giving that information. I think a small diagnostic fee is fair. And they know that upfront
      As far as the most expensive, should he write that on his website like I’m the most expensive dude in town? Lol not sure how people wouldn’t figure that out if he has the most expensive vehicles in the industry, you could kind of guess that may be more expensive than the guy with a beat up F150
      Anyway, dude, appreciate what you do keep it up and I enjoy the videos 🇺🇸

      @@rustybridges4302 I do think that he should market him himself as a luxury brand. I think he should market himself as a premium service. I sold tankless water heaters for regular water heaters for $2000. I explained to the customers at this was a premium luxury product and it wasn’t necessary, but it would be more high-end than the shit they had. They made that decision I didn’t manipulate them
      let me put it to you this way. If your mother needed a toilet fixed and it was just a simple repair. She googled a plumber and called the first one that popped up. The plumber came out, fixed the issue and charged her $850 and she now has a $50 monthly subscription plan to that plumbing company. A neighbor tells her that they recently had a plumber come out to their house who charged them $350 for the exact same service with no monthly membership bullshit. Would you advise your mother that she was being taken advantage of because she doesn’t understand the market or the industry?
      I fully know the numbers. I assure you my insurance cost and compliance costsare probably significantly higher than his as I work at hospitals and in airports. If me and every other company in town can go and work on a toilet for $400 and be making ridiculously good money and then he is doing it for $800 and charging a minthly subscription fee he is clearly taking advantage of people who do not understand the market. It’s unethical.

    • @rustybridges4302
      @rustybridges4302 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, if we use your analogy and my mother picked up the phone book and called a car dealership and got a price on a car, but she called the Mercedes dealership. Would I be angry at Mercedes for selling her a car?🤣🤣 this is America. We can sell whatever we want for whatever price we want if he’s giving the service that he promises the price he charges is up to him and he leaves room for guys like you to come in and charge whatever you want and still be less than him.
      If he was telling somebody he was giving them a luxury or high end water heater And he switched it out for a basic water heater and that’s unethical and he would be a scammer
      But so far he’s just saying that he likes to charge more because he can pay more the guys who work for him more and then he can get more work.

    For the most part I agree but college is a very hostile place to young men these days. Any degree of visible masculinity will make you a target. Another small channel Cameron McGregor touches on this all the time. Young (white) men have been consistently and with increasing vigor been pushed out of academic spaces and resulting careers.

    • @brasshouse9822
      @brasshouse9822  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dude you need to leave a comment in the “You bet your brass giveaway” video. You have good odds of winning.
      Yes and no. College itself is not the path. The career you want to get is the path and college may be a necessary first step on that path. I work on these campuses and I know how my presence is taken. They hate me by just looking at me. Like I’m guilty until proven innocent in their eyes so I get what you’re saying. Even so, for the most part people who have a desired goal with college and graduate are usually glad they did it. If you want to be an engineer and get through it you’ll probably glad you did in spite of their ridiculous DEI and hostile practices. But for the kids that think they need to go to college just for the sake of going to college, no, there’s absolutely no reason they should go.
