    I’ve been having trouble looking for parts to replace my rear suspension spring seats - where did y’all get your parts? Do you have part numbers? Would appreciate any help!

    • @MusTRitch
      @MusTRitch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello,
      We get alot of parts from www.rendcarparts.nl/ and www.estateservices.nl/
      I don't know if these shops ship outside the netherlands though.
      As for the upper spring seat I think it's this number: 1387906
      Hope this helps!

    Cool video. Need to restore the rear axle of my 850 too but started with the front suspension. Not so sure if the Sachs struts will work good with shorter springs. I used Bilsteins at the front and will also go for Bilsteins at the rear. Just Need to find some suitable spings, because I switched to T5R springs at the front.

      Yeah, the sachs struts with shorter springs is something we'll find out if it works, as soon as we can legally drive the 850 again. Fingers crossed😉 good luck with replacing them yourself!

    nice work - i also do a big time consuming and expensive restauration on my 850R Volvo. Take a look on your front suspension. the nuts at the top are incorrectly installed - but you will surely do it correctly if you re-do the dampers at the front ...

      Thats awesome! Got any videos or fotos about your restoration? Would love to see it!
      We took off the front suspension last saturday and the top nuts were indeed installed incorectly. More on that in the next video😉

      @@MusTRitch yes i have photos - but i can't post them here - how can i find out your email - i would send it to you? it's also sad - for private reasons the restoration had to be canceled - i sold the car. I am very sorry about that :(

    • @MusTRitch

      That really is sad! Hopefully things turn around and you'll be able to start a new restoration sometime 😊
      You can send the pictures to mus.t.tinkering@gmail.com if you'd like.

    Thanks. I need to do this, cause my shock limiters are broken. But i also will change the upper spring seat and the absorbers. I still want to use the original springs. How does your new springs feel?

    • @MusTRitch
      @MusTRitch  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @googlekonto2751 They feel great. Not as soft as original ones but still very comfortable.

    i'm changing out the rear springd after 25 years and i see that the bolt in the lower spring seat is conpletely rounded off. the bolt isn't attached to the part around it like it seems to be in yours, and whenever i wrench on the nut, the bolt spins freely. any advice?

    Very nice job and big improvement! Were the bolts holding the badly rusted upper spring seats difficult to remove? Did the come out in one piece or were they also badly rotted like the seats and broke off inside the frame? We just found last weekend that one bolt had completely rotted away inside the top spring seat assembly. There is only a little nub sticking out with the threaded part of the bolt still stuck inside the threaded nut in the frame. Not sure how we're going to get it out so we can salvage and reuse the nut inside the frame to install a new upper spring seat. Very disheartening indeed. We haven't disassembled the other side yet so not being too optimistic at the moment. Thanks for posting this video! It was very informative and helpful.

      Thanks! We managed to get those bolts out in one piece. They were pretty stuck though. Think we got lucky there😜.
      Hope you can get your broken bolt out. We managed to get some other broken bolts out by soaking them in penetrating fluid, heating them up, and or by drilling a hole in them and then use an extractor. Maybe you allready know those tips but there you go😉.
      Good luck!

    have been installed on your machine nivomats, and you installed a regular shock absorber.
    Nivomats do not sell in your region?

    • @MusTRitch
      @MusTRitch  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You saw that right.They do sell them over here, however they are 5x more expensive. So we decided to install regular ones first. If it turns out to be a bad decision we can always sell them and install nivomats again.

    • @MusTRitch
      @MusTRitch  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      May I ask, do you have experience with regular shocks? And if so, did you like them?

    • @gdanikgdanik3306
      @gdanikgdanik3306 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you have a good channel, I like it. it would be nice if the video was a little longer.

    • @gdanikgdanik3306
      @gdanikgdanik3306 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes i use SACHS 105 828 these are good shock absorbers. It makes sense to install Nivomats if the car is very heavily loaded. It is impractical to use expensive nivomats for normal travel with a small load.
