Replace Rear Shocks on Chevrolet Silverado

I’m replacing rear shock absorbers on a 2006 Chevy Silverado. This approach should apply to all 1999-2006 models of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The 4 nuts and 4 bolts are 21mm.

If you put a jack under the axle and relieve the tension that bolt would have come right out

No. You can do this all with the truck sitting on all 4 tires.

Yes. Observe how they look before you take the old ones off and it will be pretty obvious.

I think for some shocks it doesn’t matter but if you’re using a OEM style replacement - they do have a specific orientation
