I’ve legit never seen someone talk about the gasses! I had no idea! Invaluable info thank you for making this tutorial, at home stickers no longer feels like such a daunting task!
Great video, really well done! So awesome to see an Aussie, who talks about supplies that we can actually get our hands on. I hope you keep making videos, in you your easy-to-follow style. TFS🤩💜
Thank you! I'm happy to have been a hopefully helpful resource. Let me know if there is anything else you're curious about from our perspective for a future video topic :)
The ougassing tip!!! OMG! I haven't made stickers in so long because I just couldn't figure out why they turned out like crap. I most definitely would laminate right after printing!!
This was such a well constructed and editted video omg!! Had no idea about ink gasses, just thinking back to all the sheets i /immediately/ laminated and cringing lmao. Using the backing of the laminate sheet to help protect when squeegeeing is a smart idea too. Been making stickers for almost 2 years now and this was still super helpful, thank you!!
was watching this fully expecting you to have hundreds of videos on your channel! such an excellent, well produced, concise yet thorough tutorial :) I’m an Aussie and it’s so refreshing to see content from other aussie’s. Especially given that most tutorials come from US creators, recommending product that you can’t get as easily here. Sounds dramatic, but, truly, ty so much for this video, and, pls keep making more!
It really means a lot thank you! ☺️ It's great to hear as I set out to try and help people in that exact situation as I always struggled to find information or product recommendations that weren't exclusive to the US. Do let me know if you have any ideas for something you might like to see next :)
Very helpfull, have been using a Silhouette for years, my 1 broke after 10 years, so I bought a 4, no problems yet ( 2 years of use). Never made waterproof stickers so will give that a go. Would love more videos, it was clear, relaxing and inspirational! ❤
this video was SO helpful and soothing to watch, thank you !! i am currently in the process of designing my future sticker for my future shop, i received my printer yesterday :)) this is so exciting, thank you for all the advices :D
Welcome and congratulations on posting your first video. New subscriber! This was a great video -that tip on the gas releasing I have never heard that before and I have was dozen of hours of sticker making videos as I have a Silhouette Portrait 4 and a Cricut machine. Can you please make a video with detail instructions on setting up your art files for sticker sheets, moving them to Studio, and setting all the cut lines, blade depth, blade passes , and sending to the machine for cutting. Would be cool if you could include how to do test cuts. Thanks and wishing you the best on growing your channel. 🎉
Hi there! Thank you for the lovely comment :) I will definitely look at putting together a fully detailed workflow for the process of setting up the art & cut files for my sticker sheets in the near future. Let me know if you think of anything else you want me to include aside from all the good points you've already mentioned 👍
Amazing video! Straight to the point. If you were ever thinking of upgrading at any point, I have been using the Siser Juliet vinyl cutter for around 6 months now and I have had no issues with it that I couldn't solve myself - seems to cut a bit quieter too. Also I did not know about the ink off gassing and I've been printing them for a YEAR now, I will have to give it a go. Though I do print primarily on holographic sticker paper and haven't really seen any "blurriness". Thanks again for the awesome knowledge! We are gonna be at Melb Kaicon, hope to see you there 😊
Thank you! I have been eyeing off the Siser but thankfully all the issues I run into also with my cameo 3 I have found ways to work around them for now. Hopefully you don't even need to out gas your stickers but it all depends on the paper / ink / laminate combo I think, as I tend to thoroughly saturate the vinyls when printing they take a bit longer to properly dry I think! We will definitely catch up at Melb Kaicon! 😊
How funny, I use the exact two things you suggest NOT to get. A Cricut and an Epson ecotank. Both have worked great for me. Loved your video, though. Very glad YT has been showing us more smaller accounts on our feeds. Need to try your lamination method!
Haha sorry I roasted the cricuit a bit hard! I think the eco tank works fine for a lot of people but I had only really heard about them after I had been using the XP series. Thanks for your kind comment, I hope the lamination method works well for you! 🤞
Hello again 👋🏻 can you tell me please what is the clear/frosted sticker paper you used for the smaller stickers? You only linked the white vinyl and i do t want to make a mistake ordering the wrong thing 🤦♀️🤣 thank you
Hi there, it's also the same brand as the white sticker vinyl, it's the Avarrix crystal clear glossy :) just keep in mind that using clear sticker sheets with a standard inkjet printer will always be translucent (not opaque) because affordable home printers don't have white ink to create an opaque look 🫶
This video is genuinely so helpful❤ Also question, can that printer be used for convention prints with thicker paper? And if so. Would you recon that it would be cheaper than getting it printed from an online/local store?
Yay, I'm glad you found it useful! :) So in my experience the printer can handle any thickness of paper I've tried so far up to around 280gsm, there is a rear feed paper tray for bigger and thicker types of papers as it supports up to A3 sheets! As for if it's cheaper for art prints it depends on a few things, mostly if you don't want to order bulk prints and you want complete control of the prints it definitely produces crisp colourful results, but colour matching is tricky and you would benefit from 1st party inks. It definitely isn't cheaper per print than something like Vistaprint, but you would get a much cleaner high DPI print. I haven't experimented deeply with prints at home but I did like the 'Canon Photo Luster' and the 'Canon Photo Semi-Gloss' print quality but I had mixed results for UV resistance. I also would recommend you either laminate the prints or do tests on a lot of papers & inks to find out what has a good UV resistance without laminates as some may be very vulnerable to sun exposure. Hope that helps!

I hope it saves you many future headaches when laminating stickers at home! :3

We love straightforward, down to earth tutorials - and you have such a soothing voice. Please read me bed time stories.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing 🙂

Awesome video thank you! I’d definitely like to see a more in-depth video on silhouette and how you create your designs (procreate/illustrator).

Hey Sarah welcome! Love to see another SWE doing stickers! My boys and I started a shop on Etsy recently. Great tutorial!
Hi, thanks! It's always nice to know I'm not the only software engineer & artist combo! I suppose lots of creativity goes into both 🙂
this is excatly the video I was looking for omg
I'm so glad to hear it, I hope it was helpful for you! :)

@ thanks so much ☺️ i love the translucent look. I currently use Avery 8665 but im always looking for local alternatives. Thanks!
