That to me signals Subaru wanting to eventually phase out the manual on even it's performance models.

I like it, but not sure I’d choose this over the Crosstrek. I guess it depends on your priority and preference. Whether you prefer off-road or on-road capability.
If it comes out with a WRX version sweet, but overall this is one fine looking hatchback, I wouldn't mind picking one up myself and actually building off this platform would be a fun experience.

At first I wasn’t impressed with this but the more specs and information released this ~3200 lb car with the NA 2.5 likely will get to 60 in around seven seconds and handle better than my ‘02 WRX with its stiffer structure and be a hell of a lot quieter with nearly equal practicality. Great, detailed review as always.
@@nicholasjasman6550 I LOVE driving my very “analog” WRX and after 20 years it feels like an extension of my body so I’m not thinking that this would replace that, just that it still seems like it will be a solid and fun enough driver.
Nope, its crap because it doesn't have a manual option. At least give us a DCT like Hyundai has, or even a manual that Honda, VW, Hyundai, and Toyota still let you buy. Why not just slap the WRX transmission in here?
The front lights resembles Mazda! I am a huge Mazda fan. This Subaru reminds me of the old Mazda style . I want more buttons, simplicity and a CD player. I will not have it in the new Subaru. Nice looking design. Thank you for the video.
I'm glad the hatchback is back but it still doesn't look as good as it use to. Zonks for CTV, no pocket on back of driver's seat, no back air vents, no back arm rest, and hidden tail pipe and no gas struts for trunk.
I think hatch sport to base 2.0 legacy, I'd say just go the legacy route, if your talking 2.5rs vs civic sport touring? Get the sport touring, and slap some winter tires, however, you may need mire cargo room and want to deal with an NA ENGINE instead of a turbo engine in which case 100% go the impreza route
Awesome! I’ll be even more excited when you get your hands on the redesigned 2024 Crosstrek. But this finally makes the Impreza feel more modern and competitive with it’s counterparts. Standard AWD is a great selling point
As mentioned elsewhere, the RS is VW GTI money. You would REALLY need to want an warm AWD hatch, to ignore the better value options. I own two Subaru's that I love, so I'm not saying it lightly.
At 182hp, its down on power compared to the mazda 3, which has a great engine. The CVT transmission is not something to be proud of from a car that is branding itself as Rally Sport. That being said, the Civic Si does offer a VERY appealing option for the enthusiast. And it doesn't break the bank either. I would LOVE a WRX STi with a 3.6L boxer 6 engine, a traditional 6 speed manual and that gaudy wing for around $46,000.
can we kill the current wrx and go back to the impreza wrx days. i know they are diffrent cars now in days but this looks clean. give it a sick wing, a turbo some wider fenders and lets go lol
@raiti’s Rides Joe, do you think it’s worth trading in my 2020 Type R with less than 5K miles for the 2023 Lexus RX500h? Is the RS only come in the red color? Hoping it would come in white
This RS and the Mazda3 are probably the more truthful hatchback designs inside and out. I like it better than the Corolla and Civic.
Civic hatchback is more like a “fastback” I’d prefer a hatchback with a useful hatch. But the front of the civic looks fantastic.
I hope we get an ON THROTTLE segment sometime because this looks like it'd be fun to toss around the twisties.
Car looks great, I'm more worried about how they only manage to make 182hp out a 2.5L engine. Seems pretty inefficient.
This is the body Subaru should've used for the new WRX
It's a Blazer snafu all over again. Let's slap a badge and see if it sells.... And sadly, it probably will. I am personally done with Subaru a long time ago and doubt I'll ever come back.
For it being an RS, I would expect something turbocharged and a 6-speed manual offered. Nope I'll look forward to owning an Si instead.
I like the color of this 2024 Impreza RS and the twinkie holder inside it. 👍
I like it, but not sure I’d choose this over the Crosstrek. I guess it depends on your priority and preference. Whether you prefer off-road or on-road capability.
Trust me I know how you feel!
Oh yeah! Finally some love to the Impreza. Looks great! Love the color. Thanks for bringing it to us.
If it comes out with a WRX version sweet, but overall this is one fine looking hatchback, I wouldn't mind picking one up myself and actually building off this platform would be a fun experience.
NO... the wife (boss???) has a 2020 Forester Sport ... my daughter mentioned this last night about the Sub ... she asked why it was so noisy when compared to other cars ... NVH levels seem to be relatively high ... Thanks Joe (and Lori) Keith Chicago ... but but but ... I can excuse this if they keep building the WRX with a 6MT ...
Subaru has been on quite a trajectory. I mean, at this rate, in 5 or 10 years they may even hire a designer.
Haha.. well, you don't necessarily buy a Subaru for the looks.
Joe, betwen this and the new Civic, which do you like more?
i think i would buy this over the WRX and just turbo the 2.5L they should also for sure do a 6speed
I'm really digging the silhouette of this new impreza. Like the downsloping roof.
At first I wasn’t impressed with this but the more specs and information released this ~3200 lb car with the NA 2.5 likely will get to 60 in around seven seconds and handle better than my ‘02 WRX with its stiffer structure and be a hell of a lot quieter with nearly equal practicality. Great, detailed review as always.
your 02 will likely be a much better daily
@@nicholasjasman6550 I LOVE driving my very “analog” WRX and after 20 years it feels like an extension of my body so I’m not thinking that this would replace that, just that it still seems like it will be a solid and fun enough driver.
Headlamps look very Mazda/infiniti design wise to me!
I'd love one of these as a more MPG-focused compliment to my WRX in a few years, but no manual no interest.
Aww i wish it had a manual, I'd be sold lol
I ordered a manual 2023 Crosstrek last weekend.
Hope Soob delivers.
Short and sweet review joe, @11:48 didn't expect Easter Eggs lil Impreza logos lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm glad the hatchback is back but it still doesn't look as good as it use to. Zonks for CTV, no pocket on back of driver's seat, no back air vents, no back arm rest, and hidden tail pipe and no gas struts for trunk.
Literally we just wanted a 2.5 Crosstrek in a manual. It looks good though, I'll give them that.
No manual = no buy.
I love this touch screen. I love subaru’s interior most.
I can't wait for your video about the new crosstrek
Stay tuned!
Thought it was a Mazda 3 at first from the thumbnail.
Thnxs joe and Lori for bringing us this video’s 🇺🇸👍🏻
You are so very welcome!
Believe it or not I prefer the Prius design. This design looks generic.
Nothing wrong with that.
The 98 2.5 rs was the original brz.. my sister had one, really cool car.
I like it, but the headlights are giving me an Infiniti / Mazda vibe.
That's what I thought too
At 182hp, its down on power compared to the mazda 3, which has a great engine.
Killlsssss the Civics interior. Damn that big as screen in a small car. Nice!
Love and support from Australia, Joe and Lori
This is a good looking Mazda.
Manual transmission would be nice.
You better believe it Wally!
can we kill the current wrx and go back to the impreza wrx days. i know they are diffrent cars now in days but this looks clean. give it a sick wing, a turbo some wider fenders and lets go lol
I really miss those days!
Three letters pretty much killed the excitement for this car- C-V-T
You hit the nail on the head!
@@RaitisRides 🤣
@raiti’s Rides Joe, do you think it’s worth trading in my 2020 Type R with less than 5K miles for the 2023 Lexus RX500h? The Type R is surprisingly an asset and not liability which would net me 10K over the MSRP I paid for it in this used car market. It will also help knock down a chunk of my monthly payments. Car is for my hard-working wife who is a night shift nurse who badly needs one more than me. I can also grab another car in future. I had my fun with the R and now it’s necessity over wants. Thanks for any advice!!
@@mr.tuckers2848. Personally, I’d go for the money. But that’s just me and I know you didn’t ask me 😅
I really like the design…esp the front is spectacular
Looks like a focus from the grill
