    I own both. Love both. Goatskin worth it. But they are both fantastic! The Cambridge Concord is in my opinion the BEST Bible out there. LOVE the old school type set. “Old world” feel! LOVE IT!

    Good morning Mark, I have just moved back to the UK from the US. I purchased the Concord Calf Split, and really like the quality of the product mine was $180 US.

    Concorde was my first Bible when I took one to church and that was in around 1970 but I probably got the Bible in 1969 and I still have it although it's a bit worn out I did get a new one from Amazon just to have a new one on hand but it is probably the best Bible I've ever had maybe the best Bible ever will have I wish it was a little bigger print but I still can read it because of the way Cambridge does the boldness and the Darkness of their print.

    The Concord is such a nice text block. Good video as always. You’re doing such a great job. Glad the UK has your shop as a source for Bibles.

      Burton Bibles I get one once a month but now that I think about it I don’t think I got them until I reached 1,000 subs. Maybe that is one of their neat features that gets unlocked at that point..? Not sure but I like them!

    I have a personal size concord from CBP in the ironed calfskin and it really is a terrific bible structure! Really enjoy it very much. It’s just too darn small for my 50+ yr old eyes! Paid a whopping $35 for it from CBP website. They are discontinuing it, so if you want one.......would love to have this in a larger 10/11 point.

      I went for two in calf split, one thumb indexed and one regular. Really happy, just have a problem reading the references with my middleaged eyes.

    I live in England UK and just gone partially blind in one eye due to a blocked artery, I just sent off and got from Amazon a smaller version of the cambridge Concord reference bible , I can actually read it better than larger fonts as the text is thicker but about 6 to 7 point . When the text words are larger the clouding on the top right of my left eye makes me have to close it and just read with my right eye .

    If I can get it I prefer a good calfskin or good calf split to the floppy part of the goatskin. But some people only sell the goatskin people like evengelical Bible here in the United States because they sell more of those and can make more money at twice the price Amazon however and I guess Burton Bibles does to have various assortment of different types of covers which can save a lot of money I think.

    I am very taken with the goatskin but really like the full leather lining & spine ribs of the Turquoise, do think or know if Cambridge will be producing or upgrading any future Bibles with these features?

    • @BurtonBibles

      @@BurtonBibles Thank you for the prompt reply, glad I asked now, will wait to see any new releases. The Turquoise is an amazing Bible, but it's size and font are a little too big.

  • @gleasonparker1684

      Not sure what you mean by sewn down front piece but I can testify to Cambridge build quality. I’ve never had any of their Bibles fall apart on my within a few years!

    One hand test - does each bible stay readable or does the goatskin flop too much and require 2 hands?

  • @tobiasfoppen2658
    @tobiasfoppen2658 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Pitty they couldn't make a Concord in a 10 or 11 point font....it could fairly then beat the Turquoise

    • @BurtonBibles

      Sadly not, if Cambridge did every connotation though they would have a Bible range with about 100 Bibles 😂

    I have the Goatskin Concord and really love the beautiful bold print throughout. The only thing that’s a downer is that there’s no references within the text which is really disappointing.

    • @BurtonBibles
      @BurtonBibles  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s none in the text, but there is a full suite of references in the centre column! Do you prefer them in the text?

    I have a Concord in black Goatskin which is GORGEOUS. I do however prefer a stiffer cover like the French Morocco for when I’m laying in bed reading. Trying to find a Concord in French Morocco is so far impossible. Is the calf split stiffer than the Goatskin? How is it compared to the French Morocco?

    Natural question to me: how long would I plan to use the Bible I purchase? Do I replace it every year? I have a Thompson chain reference that I bought in the 1970s in college that I still use, even though I had to save up for it And sacrifice at the time. Its cost over all of these decades has been almost Nothing. If you amortize the cost of either of these Bibles over the number of years, they should be able to serve, the actual difference in cost should be extremely small. Best wishes from Texas.
