  • Alright, so this was a labor of love, and although I don't have every size that Cambridge offers, I believe I have the most popular models that people tend to question. I'll do individual review of each model eventually (God willing), but for now this will give a good, quick size reference. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to reach out. I'm hoping to do a vintage Oxford Bible comparison soon as well. :D
    The best Bible out there, is the one you read! May God bless you and your Bible studies!

    I love that the references in the topaz are on the outside because it opens the area up for notes on pages where there aren’t as many references. It almost behaves like a wide margin in that way.

    I’ve been looking high and low for several weeks trying to find a YT video summing up and comparing ALL the Cambridge Bibles in one video. Can’t THANK YOU enough!!!!

      No prob! I see the question pop up from time to time, so I figured I would do one. It's not all of their editions, but it's a big enough chunk of them.

    Thank you for making this video brother! Very informative! Currently deciding on the Cameo or the Turquoise. Can’t get enough of the old elegant look, it looks prestigious. Love the blue and green goatskin versions. Probably will get both!

    I recently picked up a kjv pocket addition. AWESOME little bible. I am looking for another version to read now. Debating on the nasb. Tempted to get the clarion, but im not sure how the single column will affect reading. Anyone able to chime in and help me make a decision? 😂
    Thanks for the video!

    Excellent review! My all time favorite format is the Turquoise. Oddly enough, Church Bible Publishers has the Turquoise in a wide margin, still maintaining the bold, crisp clear print throughout. It’s one of my absolute favorite Bibles. While the ironed calfskin cover is nothing spectacular, the gold gilt is superb. It’s a text block worth professionally rebinding some day, turning it into an heirloom Bible to pass along. Thanks for all that you do, Brother. And God bless.

      Thank you so much for the kind words! It's by God's grace alone that I'm able to do them. I love CBP Bibles! Really excellent quality at a fair price. I'm a fan of their leather because you don't see it elsewhere in the market, and you're right about the gilt, it's some of the best out there!

    I just came across your channel from a Google search , trying to figure out which size to get next for carry. Probably Cameo , Thank you
    I was wanting to ask you about Skylar that you mentioned.
    Thanks again and God bless you

      So it really depends how good your eyes are. The Pitt Minion is an excellent choice for carrying, but the font is quite small. The Cameo, although thicker, has the same with and hight, but a much larger font size. This would be the one I would go with. Whatcha got on the Schuyler?

      @@RustyBibles I appreciate you replying to me. I had done more research since I saw your video and agree about the Cameo.
      That other brand Schuyler , I heard you mention it and hadn't heard of it before.
      I take it you like it more from how you spake. Unless I'd be able to buy one in the US I'll probably have to go with the other though.
      A lot going on in the world , I believe the Lord may calling us up soon. These UFO hearings and all sound like they've got an explanation ready .We live in some amazing times.

    What about the large print Cambridge

      I have a separate video on that one, but mine is a vintage edition, so I didn't feel right including it here.

    *Does the word "Concord" mean KJV specifically? I don't see reviewers use the word 'Concord' for the ESV, NASB or NKJV. Is Concord a type of old-timey font style for KJV or something?*

    • @RustyBibles
      @RustyBibles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Concord is the name of the model. It's an older setting and Cambridge for the most part only used to produce KJV Bibles. It's only recently that they've expanded their lines to include other translations. I know a lot of people love the Concord layout and wish it was offered in something other than KJV, but I think that's what the new Diadem line is aiming for.

    You missed the emerald text / standard text.

    • @RustyBibles
      @RustyBibles  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's going to be in a different size comparison video since that one was a shared size with Oxford. Not sure when it's going to come out as Oxford produced around 20 different sizes of the KJV text...

    In my opinion single column bibles lose their poetic feel. I'm not a fan of modern typesets for aesthetic reasons. For me the Cameo, Concord, and Turquoise are the top three. Luckily Cambridge got with the times and released the goatskin lined blue and green versions of the Cameo/Turquoise.

    you left the little dagger out, the cambridge pocket size edition

    • @RustyBibles
      @RustyBibles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are many more KJV sizes that I omitted than just that one, but I had to draw the line somewhere. I just picked what I thought was the most popular models.

    • @kovenant7
      @kovenant7 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RustyBibles Right I figured that I just like that little guy I had to rush this morning ang grabbed mine to bring to church earlier. I just stumbled across the emerald text I'm so surprised that that one is not more popular either I am definitely going to order the emerald. And at some point the concord reference.

    • @RustyBibles
      @RustyBibles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would have liked to have gotten all of the other sizes to compare, but I never see them pop up on eBay, and it's hard for me to justify spending money on a Bible for a review that I know I won't use afterwards. I don't mind if it's $10 or so, but Cambridge prices have gotten a little out there, and $60+ for each edition adds up quick. If I can get a deal on one, I'll do a review! :D
