I ordered this bible from Amazon and it finally arrived yesterday. I chose the turquoise over the concord full yapp because of its bigger font size which is very comfortable to read. One thing to note though for those who are interested in the turquoise, the full yapp does not fully touch. This is definitely Cambridge's flagship bible.
I finally pulled the trigger and purchased a Turquoise. Got the full yapp edition and love it. Just so you know, Cambridge produced a calfskin full yapp Concord exclusively for Evangelical Bible. Had one but gave it to my daughter. Other Evangelical Bible exclusives include the Turquoise in blue goatskin with blue under silver page tilting. I've purchased way too many Bibles from them. :)
Thank you. Looks beautiful! And KJV the perfect word of God for the English speaking people. Cambridge do make wonderful KJV Bibles. God bless you. Bill. Uk
Just ordered the turquoise goatskin leather one. Can’t wait to get it in. I have 3 Cambridge Bibles a wide margin split calf leather, a goatskin esv and a French Morocco leather one. The last one I got was an Allen bible full yapp but it doesn’t have the red letters and I wanted a good red letter bible. Yours look great!
Just got mine yesterday and I agree one of the nicest Premiem Bibles I ever owned. I have the Topaz as well and I would say that it is definitely a step up. There is definitely not enough reviews of this Bible and I was thinking of making a comparison video with the topaz as your the only video on TH-cam who has showcased this Bible. Thanks Burton for the great video.
@@BurtonBibles I bought one based on this excellent review 👍🏾 I already have in goatskin so I am sold on the text block but you convinced me on the calfskin - thanks
Thanks for this review. It’s the only one out there that I could find on the calfskin, full yapper. I actually almost bought the goatskin turquoise without even knowing this version existed. I’m sure I would’ve been happy with the goatskin version, but given the choice- full yapp all the way son. 🤠 Your comments comparing the leather on the two different versions were helpful and for me that just sealed the deal. Cheers 😊
I didn’t know the full yapp turquoise existed until I viewed your video. Why do you think there’s not a lot of reviews on this Bible? For people who love full yapp Bibles, this is one for the collection.
Bookman (Antique Old Style #7) is another typeface closely related to the Antique Old Style #3 typeface of the Turquoise. I wish there were a digital version of Antique Old Style #3 - it's a really nice one.
I have both , turquoise is an absolute beautiful Bible and so is the new Concorde full Yapp, but I do have to say, that IF the older Concord reference Bible had Leather liner instead of a polyurethane that would be my favorite Bible still
Evangelical Bible just got a new batch of Cambridge Concords with full yap (almost) that you might be interested in. There’s 2 leather and color options - Navy Blue goatskin, blue under silver page edge gilding, and marbled mahogany calfskin, red under gold page edges and each offering 3 ribbons, They have leather liners, are edge lined, red lettered editions. and the translators to readers. Not sure how long they will be available since it’s a very popular edition and with Christmas approaching.
Thanks Mike, I'm not sure of a comparison as I haven't got or had any Schuyler's. This calfskin is probably the best I've seen from Cambridge at least anyway, it feels great, especially if you like smoother leathers.
Thank you for the review. Does the Turquoise have a spelling error in Luke 11:53 "proyoke" instead of "provoke"? Does the Cameo have the same misspelling? Thanks
I just wish Cambridge would do a better job on the art gilt. Why is Allan (and to a lesser degree Schuyler) able to give us such a gorgeous dark red art gilt using the same binders as Cambridge while Cambridge continues to prefer an almost non-existent salmon-faint, anemic red gilt??
I have a CBP Turquoise in lambskin and it's very nice. But this? A full yap Cambridge Turquoise!? I gotta get one! Problem is, I have recently purchased 3 premium bibles in the past 2 months! All Cambridge which wasn't planned. Green goatskin Topaz KJV, blue goatskin NKJV Topaz, and im waiting on a concord with the full yap in brown calfskin! Marbled mahogany they call it. This Turquoise has got to be next. I would get a 53 Longprimer with that highland goatskin, but I love red letter and I don't understand why the Longprimer doesn't use italicized words? I really adore the Turquoise text style as well. It's amazing imo.
I don't like Full Yap and my least favorite leather of any Cambridge leather I've ever used is the one you're praising in this review. So I totally disagree it being the flag ship. It is offered to please people who like full Yap. I prefer the Cambridge Bibles from UK made in house. However those made overseas, I rank as follows. I like the Italian first, Belarus second, and Young Blood least. I have reason for this ranking and it has to do with issues with my personal copies. Sadly they didn't include the dictionary again. I still call the flagship of the Cambridge turquoise Bibles to be their goatskin. I'm sure people would disagree with what I've just written but that's also why they offer a variety of different choices on the Bibles.
Fair enough, thankfully there are plenty of binding options for all tastes. I have to say this calfskin feels fantastic in my view. I have a calfskin Cameo and NCPB and they look and feel great too.
@@BurtonBibles I have two cameos one from 30 years ago. The calfskin leather from that time. Had more grain in it. On a hot Summer's evening when I'm sitting outside on the porch it doesn't slide. The newer calfskin is much smoother and when my hands get sweaty as they do on a summer evening the Bible's harder to hold. Of the current generation of Cambridge Bibles that are in production my favorite is the nrsv reference with apocrypha with handbound goatskin from Ludlow binders and printing from their wonderful contractor in Italy.
@@hobbitofny Yes it is a smoother calfskin for sure. I think here in the UK we have a completely different climate which means we sometimes have a much different experience with paper/leathers and such like. Great feedback though! God bless

Most excellent and beautiful Bible! Never more excited for another copy of God's word! I have many so far...
I like the feel, its like an R L Allen, nice and smooth, if only other KJV Cambridges had this same leather
Yes I really like their calfskin - like on the new Diadems

will be getting this, absolute beauty

Watching in the Philippines
It's coffee time

My calfskin Allan is nice but it scratches really easy.
Beautiful Bible 😍
I think so too!
Where can I order that second one at the bigger Bible That's the what I want to buy
Beautiful Bible. Thanks for the review Mark. How does the calfskin compare to Schuyler’s marbled mahogany calfskin covers?

Hello,
Thank you for the Turquoise review. Does the Concordance in the Turquoise have the same content as the Concord?
Thanks again,
Stephen
Thanks I’ll try and find out!
Thank you for the review. Does the Turquoise have a spelling error in Luke 11:53 "proyoke" instead of "provoke"? Does the Cameo have the same misspelling? Thanks
No it’s been fixed
No
I was interested in this. I heard that there was a miss spelling in Luke 11:53 on the word "provoke" is that true?
I am getting to where I do not read my bible because the font is too small, it is the Concord 8/9 now I am starting to go blind due to diabetes.
Sorry to hear that Terence. Good that you still try to keep reading! 🙏🏼

The other thing is even though it is a 10/11 pt. Font the reference and translators are still way to small.

Once you start… 😂
How many cross references are there?
Not sure. I can try and find out tho!
@@BurtonBibles thank you so much! That would help me decide on this one or Allan longprimer!
Would make someone very yappy
I see what you did there 😀
do you ship to America?
On my eBay outlet shop yes. But not new Bibles via the website

I hope you don't actually believe this^ lol
