Glad to see you haven't retired this channel with your baseball career. You should go to baseball conventions and set up a booth to promote this channel and do a livestream from it.
Trevor May is my favorite pitcher who never joined the Dodgers. What a nice and interesting guy - can't wait to see where he goes next with his career. Would love to hear your general thoughts on Treinen's filth since he's coming back next year
Love this segment, love your recent commentary, and hope for more! As a lifelong Oakland native and fan, you closing out the Sell the Team game was easily a top 5 moment at the Coliseum for me.
Funny story about the Brash-JRam strikeout. I used to work at T-Mobile Park in the Team Store. Despite it being quite literally *Opening Night*, the game was 0-0 in the seventh, so everyone was in their seats, watching to see who would break the tie first (shoutout Ty France flipping a 3-run Oppo Taco the next inning). Since it was slow, we were watching game on TV. When Matt got JRam and Jose tumbled over, I let out the most hyena-ass belly laugh you'd ever heard in your life. It was the talk of the park the rest of the night (Yeah, even more than Ty's Home Run). Hell of a way to open the season.
I saw Matt Brash pitch in college. Sat right behind home plate while I was working with the SIDs. Trust me when I tell you that watching his nastiness on TV doesn't do it justice.
Congrats on a career dude! Make that bank now! Love the channel. I love it when I see a pitch like Devin’s and go wtf was that thing? That was like a sinker/screw ball? What’s the opponents avg on that ghost fork .00000007
Trevor, Loved you as a Met! Always respected that you always gave it your all. It was a pleasure to watch you pitch, were around the same age and i think its bs you get to be retired already 😂
Need George Kirby's Knuckleball on here! Disgusting, especially since he hadn't thrown it in a game before. Looking forward to the increase in content!
Hey man just wanted to let you know that you were one of my favorite players to watch throughout the past 5 or so years and you were the only reason i checked the athletics at all this year. I had to check every single game, is trevor getting a save today?. Incredible career to watch and i saw a game live as well
@@TrevorMayBaseball absolutely. And my Yankees need the bullpen help lol. But barring an mlb return, have you thought about doing a japan tour? Just for the experience
All of these are gross 🤮 but also crazy to not have your sweeper from 2023 against Tom Murphy in Seattle. That pitch was the ol’ NASCAR special that turned left into oblivion
Why couldn’t you have just gone to Boston? Like, I’m a fan of yours as a 30 year old man to another man. As a TH-camr I like you, as a pitcher I liked you. Why couldn’t you just go to Boston, and get some jersey sales? I would have bought one. Hell yea I love T May. Dudes hilarious. I would totally smoke a joint with him. Ever see a baseball player play wiffle ball? HILARIOUS. Like if you were a Red Sox there could be Trevor May wiffle ball bat night 😂.
Im sick of all these new terms. Sweeper, GHOST fork. What the fuck is that, its a slider or forkball that simply works how every pitcher wishes it works
@medfiksa . Because not all breaking balls break the same way and not all offspeed pitches move the same way. A changeup runs down and in whereas a split wobbles, and a knuckleball sways left and right. A curveball has more emphasis on vertical drop whereas a slider has more emphasis on horizontal drop. The problem with sweepers and ghost forks is that they dont do anything different to sliders and normal forkballs but simply do what it is supposed to do better. That doesnt mean it needs a new name, just needs to consider a value in pitch movement being more elite than previously thought of as elite
@@baileysmith4744 the term "ghost" fork is just a signature name for the pitch, it's totally harmless for marketing and entertainment purposes. The sweeper does have a different profile tho. When a pitcher throws a slider do you just call it that regardless of whether it's a vertical slider or an horizontal one? That'd be a waste nowadays. A sweeper and a gyro slider are two entirely different pitches. Calling them specifically can only be beneficial, especially for casual watchers. It definitely helps those people learn about pitches and the way baseballs move overall.
@medfiksa . A vertical slider is a slurve, because it fails to be a slider despite spinning like one, but instead moves similar to a curveball. A ghost fork is just bullshit, its a forkball, which alone is such a rare pitch that it is good for marketing. A gyro slider is just a slider. A slider is supposed to have gyro spin, which is how it can move both with vertical and horizontal emphasis, because a failed slider (vertical emphasis) spins the same but is pulled down instead of slid across the fingers
@@baileysmith4744 a vertical slider isn't a slurve. Jose Berrios' slurve and Ginkel's v-slider clearly have different movement profiles. Sweepers have a lot of side spin and less downward movement than traditional sliders and slurves, gyro sliders (or failed sliders) like Ginkel's have nearly no side spin and move straight down and the traditional slider is between the two previous, as you mentioned. A slurve has a slider's side spin and a curve's downward movement. At the end of the day you're proving my point. Considering your own logic, the term slurve should not be used because it should be either called a slider (even tho it's a failed one, which would make it illogical) or a curveball. The term sweeper has the same value as the term slurve.
You are freshly retired pro baseball player. While you are still hot get on every baseball podcast there is and plug your channel on them. Forget broadcast and cable TV sports shows as doing so doesn't translate to new subscribers to your channel. Different medium don't help you on other mediums. Naturally, if your goal is getting a sportscaster gig on ESPN, sure, try to get on ESPN as much as possible but focus on your channel here as the bigger it gets, the more ESPN will want you.😉 Likewise you should interview as many active and retired pro baseball players on your channel as possible. To do the above two things, you need to either hire a booking agency or directly employ a booker. Do NOT try to do this yourself as it will burn you out. Another thing you can do is create you own weekly panel show with other baseball TH-camrs. Again, you are a freshly retired pro baseball player and that will enable you to get some of the biggest baseball TH-camrs to join your weekly panel show. Their viewers will become YOUR subscribers. This is one of the keys to getting explosive growth on your channel as it has worked again and again for all types of channels, from gaming to lifestyle to political commentary to all types. Likewise appear on other panel shows BUT realize that while that will get you subscribers, you cannot directly profit from those appearances. You can on your channel but not theirs. Again, a booker or booking agency will help you with this. As I am a three-decade marketing consultant, I am willing to give you more tips/suggestions pro bono. I naturally have many but don't want to overload you here. Just fire me an email to Jack -at- RagingViking -dot- com and I will whip up a list of things you can do for you channel. I will even arrange them from easiest/cheapest to "you'll need professional help with these". 😁 Good luck with this new chapter in your life!🎉

I have good news Jack. This is about to be my main thing! Less videos? Try MORE!
YES
Brash to Ramirez was the nastiest. It was crazy to watch it live.
It was the nastiest pitch of the season and it was on opening day
I almost felt bad. Then I remembered how good J-Ram is.

I’d love to get into it! Player highlights are an idea I’ve kicked around for a while.
This channel is turning into a Matt Brash fan account and I totally get why
Nine years in the bigs, not too shabby. You're career stats were nice. Kudos to you, Trev, love yr channel.

You simply don’t see that from J-Ram. Makes it that much crazier.
Forgot George Kirby’s random knuckleball
Love the content Trevor! Looking forward to seeing more now that you have more time for it! Congrats on your retirement!
Thank you! Im excited to do more!

That Matt Brash slider was in a different time zone than the hitter hahahaha holy shit that was wild 😂
That one to Ramirez was too much 🔥
It happened early in the season, and boy did it hold up.
2:06 Trevor pog
7:58 I thought the same thing! I verbally said, “that was JRam” in a very shocked way after seeing him fall down. Shocked!
3:16 I remember watching this on tv with your exact reaction
Just because you’re not playing the game doesn’t make you any less of a part of it. You’ve been brilliant at making that clear.
Hi Trevor and twitch chat!
Also, congratulations on retiring I look forward to whatever you do next be it these neat reviews or gaming.

Do you plan on doing any traditional broadcasting?

I was at the game with Brash vs JRam. Couldnt beleive he did JRam like that.

Thank you Brian, appreciate it. I think EVERYONE should get to retire at 34
