    A bit longer than our usual video but we felt that all of it was important to understand.
    Finding a way to convey edgeguarding was quite the difficult task -_-. Feel free to go back and pause to go over parts that may look confusing at first. Practice is key!
    Big thanks to TravisT for using Up B a lot as Fox =P
    Again, let us know what you think below! Thank you for watching and please share! You guys are awesome!

    Thanks for the great content...I often beat myself up too harshly for my mistakes and I feel like I don't really improve much, but that last part of the video was a good bit of encouragement and inspiration, so thanks a bunch!

    so the key you're talking about is to position yourself in a way that allows you to react? like giving you a reaction buffer window, more or less?

    at 3:18, you talked about how it's hard for fox to fight his way back to the stage, would you please make a video about how to keep fox from getting to the stage from ledge, because I have loads of trouble with that thanks (:

    but kira what if they do a MANGLE
    also in my experience dtilt to cover down to the ledge is the best option. if they are low enough and go straight to you dtilt will still hit. if the are high up, dtilt lag is short enough to punish their landing still. BUT chances are that if they're close enough to consider fire foxing ABOVE the ledge, you should always run off fair.

    for the last part, its because with experience, you learn to anticipate a bunch of situations and react automatically :) in smash 4, because ive seen it countless times, i anticipate rolls, airdodges and common moves. i have a little over 2 years of experience with smash 4 and i hope to be good in melee as well. i main marth with fox as a secondary. ive gotten pretty solid so far and im pretty content with the rate im improving.

    after the ledgehop I have seen three ways to edgeguarding fox.
    1. Control Stick down - Control stick up - Bair
    2. Control stick down - y or x - Bair
    3. Control stick down - y or x (with index finger like Mango or m2k) - Bair
    Which is the best option?

      @SSBMTutorials  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Valentín Domínguez There is none. Do what feels most comfortable to you. You can also use C-stick or A button to bair

  • @sinistar3198
    @sinistar3198 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why not keep your back to the stage? I've noticed that bair can scoop a Fox recovering low. It drives away a Fox recovering middle. And you can easily go for strong bair to keep them offstage if they recover high. Alternatively, if they're far and recovering low, you can just ramen noodle.

    • @SSBMTutorials
      @SSBMTutorials  8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You can cover all that with Jab, bair gives them extra chances, especially if you don't get a strong hit, very possible with a weak bair. ramen noodle is a slight mixup on whether they go on stage or to the ledge, if you guess wrong they are back. but if you jab it covers both
      watch m2k/ppmd, they almost always face towards the ledge

    Or just jump off and fair if you can reach them... Counter can cover quite a bit of the other options, like below the stage. Fsmash covers some of the rest.

      +thecrimsonpixel yeah but using the advices in the video you still cover two option out of three, and sometime you can even react to cover the third one. So the RPS is really skewed in your favor

    actually reaction time can only be improved by a few milliseconds.

    • @MrMooooole
      @MrMooooole 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wobbles wrote a smashboards article on Smashboards covering the different kinds of reaction times he sees in Melee.
      To react to something when you have no read on when it will occur, yes, it may be true that you can only improve your reaction to it by a few milliseconds. However, if you expect to something to happen, then really there's no limit to have quickly you can react.
      There is of course then the disadvantage that if you anticipate something, and something else occurs, then you will in fact be slower than if you had a clear head and were trying to react on the fly.
      tl;dr there are different types of reaction time
