I believe Snoke is R2D2. Snoke only appears thus far as a projection, and R2D2 is the master at projecting things. Also R2 stays "shut down" while Snoke is working with Kylo Ren. And like Batman and Bruce Wayne, we have not yet seen Snoke and R2D2 in the same room together.
If he is Plagueis, then *he* becomes the main villain of all 9 movies, being responsible for everything that happens in the movies. If he is not, then that's... well. "Snoke" sounds like your average house cat and without an epic backstory he will be a total flop of a villain.
Mike Warnke no shame, the emperor was exactly that 😉 everyone is just pissed there theory was wrong or rather the people whom they follow and can’t think for themselves theories where wrong
I really hope he is Plaugueis, it's too good of a story not to take advantage of it. There's so much potential in there. Plus we know he is definitely canon because he was mentioned in Ep 3 by Palpatine himself.
+Sithplayground yeah that he killed him in his sleep ...... jesus guys you are all crazy and obsessed , and i am going to laugh so hard with yall when he turns out to be a completely new character
+davy vermeiren it was also said that Plaugueis can/could cheat death so its not that crazy maybe he really tricked Sidious and he was still alive I think its likely that Snoke could be Plaugueis
Biotron Mocs it was litteraly said that "he had such knowledge of the dark side that he could influence the midiclorians to create life , i dont see a way how he could do that whn he is already dead , and if you consider sidious as the most powerfull sith lord of his time dont you think that he would have felth it if plagueis whas still alive ? ( obi wan felth the life in padme after anakin strangled her on mustafar in revenge of the sith , anakin felth it too that she was still alive ) and because of that fact it will be very very unlikely that he is alive and remained undetected for over 60 years dont you think guys :D
Well he could be very far away and he was really good in using the force Yoda was able to hide from Sidious for decades so I still think Plaugueis could be alive
eh honestly i prefer the fact that either Plagueis was a sith legend that Palpatine heard about. That or Palpatine lied, and made up a story to convince skywalker to join him.
Jericho Bddw ya well in the movie which is the only real thing I go off. he never said he was his master. that is fact. all these other stories that are Cannon state that ya he was his master. I don't really like that idea. I prefer the possible lie that sidious used. use your imagination
I would be surprised if he was not Plagueis. It is really hard nowadays to create an entirely new villain master mind and make him memorable. If they make him just another ''powerful'' being in the galaxy. I think this movie will fall on itself. We all know after all, the Villains are always the star of the show!
+Reverse Flash Thats true I really dont want it to be just another powerful being that shows up to take over from Sideous and try to rule the Galaxy. That to me will be very boring and will kind of diminish this sequel trilogy, once the classic Icon character's stories have been done, and that torch has been basically passed on to the new characters. I do want it to be Plageuis cause it still can connect, everything if done properly and carefully, planned out.
You're inferring that in order for Episode VII to be successful, they need to utilise a villain die-hard fans know to be canon. I personally think a brand-new villain is not only a huge opportunity but is the best idea for Disney. One of the key elements to Episode IV-VI's successes was the mystery and darkness to Darth Vader. The following generation needs to have those same feelings of nostalgia felt by parents. There are millions of Star Wars fans, but a select few who would care enough to know absolutely all that was needed to recognise an obscure villain.
+Reverse Flash plus they haven't even actually used Plagueis in the movies. Palpatine just mentioned him and gave a vague description of his abilities in episode three. He would still completely new character should they decide to use him.
+Andrew Velasquez (TwoHundredLeftFeet) I saw it yesterday and snoke looks identical to plaguis aside from his disfigurements. I think snoke is plaguis and his face is all fucked up cause of palpatine
+The Stupendous Wave Any Midi-chlorian theories that make them not suck? On a dare a while back I put one together (it also incorporates Jar-Jar) and just decided to give it a proper write up a few days ago. Medium snapped it up and it got surprisingly viral and you're free to play with it if you like! I enjoy your style...and I'd love to hear if there are any others that really embrace them. It's more of an un-theory (there's no way George Lucas planned on Mark Hamill and Luke being the same person and taking over the planet) but a few of us have had a lot of fun with how twisty it can be! :) medium.com/brains-are-fun/secrets-of-star-wars-and-the-end-of-everything-16278a13a926
Brilliant!! I just watched the force awakens today and I hated the idea of a new random leader coming into the series. Now seeing this theory has really made me think it is plagieus. They even played the same song during the snoke scene and the scene when Palpatine told anakin of Plagieus. If this is true and it is Plagieus I am incredibly excited to see his power that was told of :)
"Did you ever hear the *tragedy* of Darth Plagueis the wise? It's not a story the jedi would tell you.....He became so powerful the only thing he was *afraid* of was losing his power..Which, eventually of course he did. He taught his apprentice everything he knew. Then his apprentice killed him in his sleep." Or did he ?
It was mentioned in the movie the troops must be clones. In the book darth plagueis, the sith lord hego damask says he thinks it would be better if the army were all clones, since they would take any orders without question. I found that interesting! To me snoke is darth plagueis.
Honestly, I came into this thinking "yeah bullshit." but after listening... I think you have a solid theory. I think this could possibly be the case and I'd be all for it. I am not sure if they would do this but I really hope they do!
+The Stupendous Wave In case you didn't see it yet: scontent-dfw1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpl1/v/t34.0-12/12348556_10203680061560397_664086685_n.jpg?oh=f62b50eaf9c00449ea4d85395268900d&oe=5669B9B1
+Kyle Piper I do want to believe that Snoke is Plagueis.. But JJ Abrams have said that Snoke doesnt have any connection with Palpatine.. Soo :/
2 ปีที่แล้ว +8
And of course they just made him a random guy that dies and then turns out to actually be a clone made by the actual master villain FUCKING DARTH SIDIOUS, LET HIM FUCKING REST OH GOD
He's Jar Jar pretending to be Plagueis. Then Kylo Ren, who is the will of the real Plagueis, takes control of Snoke and forces him to bring Plagueis back to life. But then Kylo Ren backstabs Plagueis and reveals he is not Plagueis' will, but Bane's, and he was able to make Plagueis think he created him. He then sacrifices Plagueis to bring Bane back to life.
I just watched sw 7 for the second time and I noticed that in the scene where han solo and kylo ren are on the bridge, kylo ren says that snoke is wise. Darth Plagueis s called the wise too..... starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Plagueis/Legends
no but Jar-Jar could actually become a Spy for the Dark Side. That way our hate for JarJar would make sense. We all felt that there was something odd with him all along! I think that would be an awesome solution for the Jar-Jar problem and also it would explain why he was put into the senate. Sidious/Snoke/Plagueis were pulling the strings on him all along.
idebly They're so similair. The only real difference is the longer face. Maybe that's why snoke looks different. So he wouldn't resemble voldemort too much.
I immediately thought of that too, and I think it is Voldemort. martyn_1 I have to inform you that we live in an era of media manipulation, so editing Voldemort's face to be taller is not a big deal.
great video but since the PLageius novel isnt canon, he doesnt have to be a Muun, correct? i thinks this makes it way more interesting to see what changes they will make regarding his race if any at all
+Ryan Forder Yesterday it was revealed in People Magazine that Snoke is 7 feet tall and very thin. Sounding more and more like a Muun. makingstarwars.net/2015/12/people-magazine-confirms-snokes-height-and-weight-from-star-wars-the-force-awakens/
XaeoLS true. Note though (and not that its any kind of proof since tech changes over the years) that the mo-cap gear that Serkis is wearing for Snoke looks nothing like the gear the used for Jar Jar or the Kaminoans. And the Gungan were barely taller than Qui-Gon if not about the same. Snoke is taller than Chewie. Not ruling out an entire new design to keep us on our toes. Slightly off topic (but not completely as it is rumored that Snoke has a throne room on Starkiller base), but I'm also inclined to theorize that Starkiller base is NC (New Canon) based on EU Ratakan technology and that Snoke/Plageus' final resting place was there and the Knights of Ren woke him. Also be prepared for the possibility that, much like TPM, none of these sorts of questions will be answered in TFA.
they wiped the slate clean and canon is only the prequels, orginal trilogy, clone wars tv show, rebels tv show and all new comics and nivels everuthing else is sencond rate EU
I hope it is Darth Plagueis, that would REALLY be interesting on so many levels, and he he completes Kylo Ren's aka Jacen Solo's training and inducts/initiates him into the Sith Order in Episode VIII. Solo, once he becomes a full Dark Lord of the Sith is supposed to be re-christened and forever after known as Darth Caedus. And you all realize Ray is actually Jacen Solo's twin sister, Han Solo and Princess Leia's lost daughter, Luke Skywalker's niece, and Padme/Queen Amidala and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader's granddaughter.
Enea Tarabelli sidious in legends survived by cloning himself it wasn’t a big deal for me. In the book aftermath and the current Star Wars comics it was all pointing to what happened in rise of Skywalker. I always thought it was funny how people where angry because they didn’t know who snoke was but those people complaining where alive when they had both trilogies. Back then when there was just the originals you had no idea who the emperor was he was just that the emperor just a bad dude in a cloak for the hero to beat.
That would sound like it would be taking star wars in the wrong direction though. We're now in the new generation. This means we should leave the old ways a lot of people complained about in the previous franchise format, but now move to a new one. A lot of people accuse Lucas of messing things up and I think the current owners are going to change things up with how Jedis and evil jedi are made now to try fix things to feebly appease certain fans. This means... there will be hardly anything from the old franchise to pop up like the previous ones did. They will create new characters instead of having old ones in the first franchise to make cameos. This means Snoke is not Plagus. He is a new character, period. I would place money betting on Snoke is not Plagueis.
+Lieutenant Nomad My gut instinct is that the answer to that will be no. It's very unlike Star Wars movies to actually contain such dramatic force techniques. They usually go for subtlety. Its much like Lord of the Rings, where Gandalf isn't doing shit like shooting lightning out of his staff or shooting fireballs all over the place - it's just subtle, but profound effects, like a bright beam of light that drives away dark things. Plagueis being a Munn isn't canon. God, I actually hate the extended universe with a passion. It's so much better when you _don't know_ what actually came before, and it's a mystery. I'm glad it's all non-canon now. And, that lets Plagueis be whatever species they want to make him. He's the only on-film Sith who we've never seen. So, here's what's canon about Plagueis: -He can create life (unless Palpatine was just lying to manipulate Anakin, quite possible as well). This opens up the possibility that he can revive himself from the brink of death or after recent death. -He's Palpatine's master. -He's old, but perhaps not as old as characters like Maz or Yoda. Basically, that's it. He's _very_ powerful, perhaps more so than Palpatine. He's wise - meaning he could easily have seen Palpatine's attack coming. They basically have a few options: -Implement something from clone wars to make his character tie in (it would be retarded to make some sideshow cartoon a major part of the story). -Make up a totally new, unrelated character (boring). And, this character can't fill the shoes or significance of Vader or Palpatine UNLESS he's connected to them. -Use Plagueis: totally interesting, elegant, makes sense, can use teasing with little hints to keep people in suspense and create that glorious release of the reveal. I think it just makes sense for him to be Plagueis, but in mostly in a very film-related way. Just forget books and non-canon things, and suddenly Plagueis making a return makes a lot of sense. Plus, we just have a story about Plagueis dying. We don't have details, other than the account of a pathological liar. There are all sorts of outs to Plagueis actually dying, and there is nothing in the films that says that Palpatine is definitively more powerful than Plagueis. And, there's the music. I'll actually lose respect for the sequels if Snoke isn't Plagueis - he's a character I want to know more about, IN CANON. Not in some offshoot novel written by _some guy._ If I was a writer, I would _definitely_ make Plagueis return in the sequels.
+Opus 32 I just want to add to your arguement. Anakin wouldnt exist without the ability to create life. Without Snoke, Anakin wouldnt have been born, as Anakin's mother was a virgin.
BStinsTheSir That's speculation, aside from the virgin birth. However, in the scene where Palpatine is talking to Anakin about Plageuis, the show that they're watching does actually look like sperm fertilizing an egg. That doesn't actually force them to go with the Plagueis conception. However, the hint is still fuel to the Plagueis fire, which seems to be burning fairly strong.
I think that the Anakin chosen one prophecy did succeed, from another point of view. We all know Plagueis is who *created Anakin Skywalker* to start with, well why did he do it...Not to wipe out all Sith or Jedi, but actually, well for only his own ends. He sensed all the power in Anakin. He deceived Sidious into training him too early, because he already foresaw Anakin going berzerk and killing Sidious. Then there is no one standing in his way *OF THE EMPIRE*!! *HOHOHO*
I think it's very likely. I don't know if this was confirmed, but i heard a rumor that Hayden Christensen went to London to "train" for returning to Anakin Skywalker in episode 8 (Ewan McGregor is also runored). The idea makes sense if Snoke is Plaeguis. If he can manipulate mitichlorians to resurrect people, and Kylo is having his training completed by Snoke, it would make sense Kylo would want to resurrect his "hero" Darth Vader.
I believe your theory makes much sense, I dont know about Darth Plagueis hiding from Palpatine and awaitng his demise yet when i saw the movie Snoke looked like the species you mentioned.
One of the things that lead me to believe that it is Plagueis is is that in episode 7 when Snoke comes on screen, the music playing in the background is very similar to the music played in episode 3 when Palpatine was talking ab Plagueis with Annakin
Listen to the songs of soundtracks of Episode 3 and Episode 7 : EPIII song "Palpatine's Teachings" ( it's played in the scene of Palpatine explaining to Anakin the legend of Dart Plagueis at the opera ) and then listen to the song "Snoke" of EP VII ... Listen starting at 1:37 of Palpatine's Teachings and compare it to starting at around 0:30 of Snoke. ... mind blown ... almost same songs.. .coincidence ? I think not...
"Supreme Leader snoke is wise"- Kylo Ren. "have you ever heard the tale of Darth Plaugeis the wise?"- Darth Sideous. I don't think thats an accident... Also without giving much away.. Look at the Jaw..
I'm betting on Plagueis too. Palpatine might be an outside possibility- while the EU has been excised from canon, they can still take elements from it that work. And Palpatines clones could. But that risks making the new movies too much of a retread of the originals, and undercutting what the heroes accomplished in them. I'm not saying it would be impossible to tell a good story this way, or that it's guaranteed to damage the original trilogy, but this would be much harder to pull off in a way that doesn't suck. The best bet really is on Plagueis. I suppose a new character is a possibility, but that just doesn't feel like where they plan to go with this.
When I first saw Snoke my first thought was what if this is Darth Plagueis. Although I thought that probably wasn't true. However your theory seriously makes me reconsider that thought. It would explain snokes surprising knowledge in the force as well as how he acquired those lightsabers cuts in his head. If Snoke had been operating after sidious then I doubt he would have many run ins with lightsabers toting individuals. This would be great if it is the case, it would bring in some of the Star Wars universe that I loved rather simply have new stories with new characters.
I just watched episode 3 again tonight and when Palpatine talks about "Darth Plagueis the wise" that same ominous music that plays when you see Snoke in episode 7 plays!!!
+Jason Houston Yeh I saw that sketch in a spanish magazine showing the profiles of each of the characters, and the Snoke sketch did show the Munn race basically off the artwork for Plageuis the Novel, mixed with Sideou's hood.
+bob billy chill, nobody is perfect😂 sorry if it offends you when my grammar/writing isnt perfect. when I write on my smartphone i dont always Check it. And if there are mistakes in my other writing : i am from germany, my Phone has a german auto-corrector and Englisch is only my secondary language. And if you qestion my knowlegde of star wars, i've been a fan for many years and have consumed many Material beside the films. And i think even you Do make spelling mistakes sometimes or forget that a character is mentioned in a short scene when you give a spontanious comment. I dont try to offend anyone, I just wanted to express my opinion about one of my favourite Charakters.
+Malick Sow While unfortunately the Darth Plagueis book is no longer canon as far as we know (although this can be changed) he was indeed mentioned in ROTS.
Everyone is going to shit a brick when it's revealed Smoke is none other than former Disney ceo Michael Eisner........While Disney laughs their way to the bank!
The truth is, Plaugeis created a void in the force by creating Anakin out of Shmi Skywalker. He had the power to repeatedly manipulate midi chlorians, creating life and destroying life. The movie confirms he's definitely part muun and I'm refusing to believe he is a full muun now. It doesn't cancel the novel at all, since Snoke does not look exactly like San Hill. If anything it makes it even better, since every alien including even half muuns.....Are not supposed to look the exact same. Especially one that evil.
+The Stupendous Wave You did a really great job on this theory, whether it is true or not, it was still well planned out. I'm not a fan of most theories, fan fiction, etc., I pretty much hate it actually, however this actually does have my attention surprisingly.
I think Darth Plagueis is the father of anakin. If he can bring people back to life with the force than why can't he create life? He created anakin for the sole purpose of destroying Sidious. He went into hiding since he knew Sidious was too powerful for him, so he created anakin and made the Jedi train him so he could destroy Sidious so he could control the Sith. That's my theory
+nweezey123 It was already established in the old EU that Plagueis (and Palpatine?) tried to create life through manipulating the Force but was rejected by the Force, creating a sort of "bounce-back" that created Anakin instead. Or something like that. He didn't create Anakin to destroy Sidious, that much is known.
+nweezey123 well someone keeps deleting the comments anyone posts about a book tarkin .....which makes me think that somebody doesn't want anyone reading that because it reveals too much...
Darth Plagueis suffered from a great injury, Darth sidious/palpatine supposedly killing him... So if Snoke is Darth Plagueis is Snoke, that would be the injury...
If Darth Plagueis had become Snoke, possibly by using the force ability to transfer his consciousness into another host (being that he no longer has the transpirator) that body may have been damaged again when he created to First Order or something similar. What if, in addition to Plagueis's admiration towards Darth Vader, Plagueis also wanted a newer host due the his current age or injury. Knowing that Kylo Ren would be suitable due to his lineage and capable skills with the force, Plagueis could be planning on using his ability again upon Kylo Ren completing his training. This would also be a decent reason as to why Plagueis would really involve himself with Ren, knowing that his relation to both Han Solo and the Skywalkers would automatically make his a larger target upon taking Kylo Ren as his apprentice. That is assuming the that force sensibility of the host makes any effect on the individual who is transferring their consciousness. idk, just a thought.
+Mary Berger In my opinion the other part of this theory not being looked at is the body is clearly still plagueis body. What if all that happened is he did the life transfer once, then rejuvenated his old body to full health using the secret trick he used on venamis and then transferred in??? Most of the art pictures out there have him with a nose
What if the entire Star Wars series was just a result of Plagueis manipulating people and hiding his time. He creates Anakin who becomes Vader who kills the Emperor. Then, he aight the Emperor dead he swoops in and takes over, creating a new and powerful First Order.
Since the EU was ditched, Darth Plagueis's race is currently unknown. He is mentioned in the new novel "Tarkin" several times and in the novel he is *confirmed* to be Sidious's master. In the movies he is said to be a "sith legend", not Sidious's master. So there has to be a reason why they brought back that piece of the EU.
It will be Darth Plagueis and here is how it will work! Kylo Ren is either Luke or leias son, and is attracted to Plagueis because Plagueis is Anakins father! We already know Ren is obsessed with Vader, and that is what attracted him to Plagueis!
This is a great analysis. A lot better than some of the glib presentations on YT.I reckon, but I could be wrong, that many SW fans, including myself, are hoping it IS Darth Plagueis. It'd be more intense if this was true.
Cant tell you how much I enjoy these theories. Your background music would be so much more awesome if you turned it up a little. It gets the mood going! I don't know why but I like the theory of Snoke being Vader :D
The pic at 4:02 made me realize that Plagueis looks a lot like Voldemort. I doubt Disney would allow the new villain to look so much like another, already famous... Besides that point, I find this video's evidence to be quite convincing.
+BB-8 Awakens Its misleading its just what the guy has used for his video, just to give a idea of what Plageuis could well look like in the sequel trilogy.
yeah, and he wiped Shmi Skywalkers mind increasing the medi count in his blood since the medichlorian count only indicates force usage but not the force itself. Anakin obviously had a high count since his mother was massively manipulated before his birth. this could become canon even if it is not plagueis. If snoke is a new character on his own they still have to tie him into the old canon just to be relevant and to be even more evil than everything that came before him. if snoke really means "sith no one knew existed" it can't be plagueis without snoke being a body changing force vampire type of guy. since sidious knew that plagueis existed and after sidious told anakin, anakin knew as well. sidious acted like a father for anakin. maybe he was his father after all after leaving plagueis' body and moving on to become sidious. snoke being an ancient evil and becoming multiple characters over the years similar to Star Trek Trill, just without the surgery would be awesome.
I think Plageuis is Snoke. Just purely on the the basis that in order for the Sith to succeed there must be the rule of 2... meaning that as Vader became Sideous' apprentice there would now be 3 siths. Therefore the empire was never going to complete what was needed' and with the demise of vader and palpatine happening in episode 6, that leaves only him and his new apprentice KYLO REN
Not really worth it to explain now. Just know I have been involved. I might not be able to tell you whats in the film, but I can tell you whats not. This theory is not in the film.
Guys type into You Tube "The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise" listen to the music theme in this scene and after that listen to the soundtrack of "The Force Awakens" with the title "Snoke" -> This might be it .
Remember the conversation between Luke and Obi-Wan in episode 6 about Anakin? Those were the foundations for the prequels, three films dedicated to Anakin Skywalker. Wouldn't it be poetic to say that the conversation between Sidious and Anakin in episode 3 about Plagueis would give rise to the sequel trilogy, a trilogy about Snoke?
I'm not sure if this counts as spoilers but just in case it does... SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After watching The Force Awakens I'm pretty sure Supreme Leader Snoke is Darth Plagueis
the few scenes he was in convinced you of that?? hmm. I do think it would be awesome to think that snoke is plagueis, but he did or said absolutely nothing at all to even give the slightest hint that he was. he barely even looked like a muun. for those who think he did take off your nerd glasses and try to be real.
Joseph Haynes I was just curious as to how you formed your opinion. Because if I missed something I'd like to know. I've done my homework on the subject and I'm thinking it's possible although unlikely that snoke is plagueis. I hope he is because I think it would make a great storyline but I'm doubtful.
This may be a dumb question. Is there a new Canon reference to Plagueis's species or does the notion of him being a Mu'un come strictly from E.U. (non-disney-canon)
maybe it's plagius, but they changed his name to snoke? and this theory has always made sense. in star wars there is always a larger, more threatening enemy pulling the strings in the shadows. and if it's not plagius in appearance, it could be his spirit possessing a diffrent alien, which ties into what you said in the video. I hope it's him. It gives star wars Its own Thanos.
+ragemonkey117 Maybe he's going by the name snoke. Darth Plagueis is a traditional sith given name. Even Palpatine had a Darth name, Darth Sidious. Darth Vaders real name was Anakin Skywalker, etc.
+ragemonkey117 Snoke might be Plagueis’ real name. Sith lords never use their real names. Darth Sidious was really Palpatine, Darth Vader was really Anakin Skywalker, Darth Tyrannus was really Count Dooku.
+Anthony Cortese unlikely though, his formal name was hego damask of damask holdings, unless he essence transferred to another alien, does it not seem strange that he changed his name to a seemingly meaningless snoke? unless of course snoke is a title much like ren but that goes beyond speculation at that point, we'll just have to wait and see :)
I've done alot of research. Darth plagues is snoke. everything points to it. he trained sidios. snoke even says he was there for the rise of the empire and the fall. snoke hid in the shadows. palpateen injured him. he would stay hiding till he had the chance to rise again
Plagues was never cannon. Of course they would change his damn look from the non cannon. Would make him look nothing like his 1 comic of the dumb ass cartoon.
Nicholas lester So basically every tall creature who's been damaged could be Snoke as long as he's not canon. Tbh I don't even know what canon is nor do I really want to get involved with this. I just had this in my recommended for whatever reason and was bored. After seeing both faces I simply used common sense and thought hey maybe I can help someone out. Didn't really work out and my sarcasm came through. Care to explain a total newbie to these topics what canon means and why they'd change him? I kind of have an idea what it could be, but I'm not entirely sure.
xKaidou cannon is to the real story. non cannon is not. if something is non cannon they will Chang just about every look to him, and his back story to put him/her in the cannon version. the cartoon on cartoon Network was all non cannon. has people and back stories in it that was never in the original starwars stories. idk if you watch Dragonball z, but Dragonball and Dragonball z are both cannon along with dragonball super, BUT dragon Ball gt is non cannon that. the only thang cannon about Darth plagues in starwars is he was palpateens master in which he referred to him as Darth plagues the wise in episode 3 revenge of the sith when palpateen is talking to anikan.
Nicholas lester To sum it up there are alternative versions of the main story, but they don't change the main story in any way or rather nothing what happens in non canon stories matters in the canon universe?
The track Palpatine's Teachings on the Revenge of the Sith soundtrack is assumed to be the opera music as this is where the scene about Darth Plagueis takes place. But the music maybe nothing to do with the opera & could be a theme for Darth Plagueis or even for Sith Teachings (an opposite theme to Jedi teaching or Yodas teaching) Maybe that's why it sounds so similar to Smokes theme. In both films this Sith teaching or guidance leads to the apprentice taking the "step too far" from where there is no return to the light.
"In order to portray him, Andy Serkis required a motion capture suit. He has vast knowledge of the Dark Side..." For a moment, I thought you were talking about Andy Serkis. I...could sort of believe that, actually.
Idk. It's a cool theory, but JJ has gone on record as saying he's only treating the original trilogy as canon. Maybe he made an exception in this case, but I think it's a bit unlikely.
+IamGod Woah, woah, woah. Why the anger? I indeed went back and double checked, and you're right, he did word it that way. I stand corrected. What was the need for taking a shit on me? What the fuck is wrong with you? Can't afford your psych meds?
Yeah, I'm sure you've never made an erroneous statement on the internet, champ. And hey, unlike 99% of all people who post on the internet, I actually freely admitted I was wrong.
This is disappointing to watch now after The Last Jedi. After we've been told Snoke doesn't matter. After almost all the hype built up for the new trilogy has deflated.
It's definitely possible, but I still think he's a new character. The biggest question I have is why does he go by the name Snoke and not Plagueis? Palpatine is gone, so who is he hiding from now? Also from what I read Plagueis didn't really create Anakin, The Force did as a response to their attempts to create the ultimate Sith/Dark Side warrior. Which actually makes me think that Snoke could be the creation by Plagueis and Palpatine that was countered by The Force in the creation of Anakin Skywalker. This would still allow him to be around during the rise and fall of the Empire as he says.
+The Nikkuu You're right. Moreover, there have been several Sith who did not overtly use their Sith names when in positions of power. In SWTOR it turns out that Emperor Valkorion of the Fallen Empire is actually just another vessel of Vitiate, the Sith Emperor. Count Dooku never officially commanded the Seperatists under his Sith moniker Darth Tyranus. Darth Sidious was also also never publicly addressed as Darth Sidious, just privately by his apprentice and Yoda before their duel in the Senate Chamber. Consequently, Snoke not being named Darth Plagueis as Supreme Leader is not unheard of, if you consider the examples above.
In the book, when Palpatine murders Plagueis it is strongly hinted that he survived in some shape or form. Probably a force ghost. So it is entirely possible
Exactly. Palpatine felt in the Force that he may still be alive. He was able to create a being (Anakin) and kill and resurrect his prisoner over and over. No reason to believe that he couldn't save himself other than Palpatine thinking he finished the job.
+Carlos Maximus The problem is that the Darth Plagueis novel is considered non-canon. What IS still canon is that Plagueis trained Palpatine and that Palpatine killed him. Since Plagueis is dead according to canon he can't possibly be Supreme Leader Snoke.
Another piece of evidence (that I saw in another video) that suggests Snoke might be Darth Plagueis is that Snoke's theme is very similar to the music that plays in Revenge of the Sith when Palpatine talks to Anakin about Darth Plagueis.
I believe Snoke is R2D2. Snoke only appears thus far as a projection, and R2D2 is the master at projecting things. Also R2 stays "shut down" while Snoke is working with Kylo Ren. And like Batman and Bruce Wayne, we have not yet seen Snoke and R2D2 in the same room together.
but he couldnt form the image on his own. he would have to get it from somewhere, like plagueis
bruh...
lol
hahahaha
I AM SUPREME LEADER SNOKE.....THE ONE AND ONLY.
If he is Plagueis, then *he* becomes the main villain of all 9 movies, being responsible for everything that happens in the movies.
If he is not, then that's... well. "Snoke" sounds like your average house cat and without an epic backstory he will be a total flop of a villain.
Mr. mistery What a shame what turned out
Hannes K i wish, i looove a good master manipulator badguy, shame.
you predicted the future
Mike Warnke no shame, the emperor was exactly that 😉 everyone is just pissed there theory was wrong or rather the people whom they follow and can’t think for themselves theories where wrong
Welp lol
( obi wan felth the life in padme after anakin strangled her on mustafar in revenge of the sith , anakin felth it too that she was still alive ) and because of that fact it will be very very unlikely that he is alive and remained undetected for over 60 years dont you think guys :D
but i geuss the story stands open for different interprentations ,
Well he could be very far away and he was really good in using the force Yoda was able to hide from Sidious for decades so I still think Plaugueis could be alive
kylo ren actually said to his father that the supreme leader is "wise" - darth plagueis the wise
Too bad
Man, just noticing that...
WHAT A WASTED POTENTIAL
Darth plagueis is my father
@@therocketman8933turns out he wasn’t that man.
#disney missed a huge opportunity to capitalize on Plagueis.
Agree.
lol
eh honestly i prefer the fact that either Plagueis was a sith legend that Palpatine heard about. That or Palpatine lied, and made up a story to convince skywalker to join him.
Dave Walpole plagueis was palpatines master. Do ur homeworks
Jericho Bddw ya well in the movie which is the only real thing I go off. he never said he was his master. that is fact. all these other stories that are Cannon state that ya he was his master. I don't really like that idea. I prefer the possible lie that sidious used. use your imagination
My thought is look at how Snoke is referred to as "wise" by Ren.
And Plageus of course was called "Darth Plageus the *Wise*"
adidell good point
adidell black ops 3 DLC 5 confirmed
adidell REALLY GOOD POINT
I think Snoke is Porkins
But Porkins is Plagus;)
me too
Ok here it is... Plagus incarnated into jar jar then jar jar into porkins then porkins into Snoke! BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+TheValveFan Andy Volk That would be amazing
+Tanner Rhoden Its like the Queen of England. She is the Shadow leader of America and the world. She just bides her time.
I really want to see Plagueis in action.
It's a great theory indeed. I would prefer this to be true instead the path that Disney choosed to follow
He is not the mythical earth plagueis.
I'M ALIVE AND I DO RETURN....
YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!!
Darth Plagueis I BELIEVE IT YOU ARE THE BEST
Darth Plagueis ALL HAIL LORD PLAGUEIS THE WISE!
You better believe it....wait a second...you're Naruto!
Revan > Plagueis
I hate you!!!!!!
Andrew Velasquez You sure about that? I saw it yesterday and he could pass as a really old and badly disfigured Muun.
+Andrew Velasquez (TwoHundredLeftFeet) I saw it yesterday and snoke looks identical to plaguis aside from his disfigurements. I think snoke is plaguis and his face is all fucked up cause of palpatine
WOW! 300 likes in 4 hours! Jar Jar theory coming!!!!!!
+The Stupendous Wave should have gone for 1,000
When??
medium.com/brains-are-fun/secrets-of-star-wars-and-the-end-of-everything-16278a13a926
you're channel is going to grow super fast as long as you keep making these great quality videos! nice job!!
+Cem Salik "We are not butchers"? So were the Sith once anti-heros or something, neither good but not wholly evil?
Very Good, I really hope Snoke is Darth Plagueis. It would make for a great dynamic in the saga.
If this is true, JJ Abrams, while I didn't like some of the writing, could very take this down a very chilling road with TONS of potential
2020 ...
"Did you ever hear the *tragedy* of Darth Plagueis the wise? It's not a story the jedi would tell you.....He became so powerful the only thing he was *afraid* of was losing his power..Which, eventually of course he did. He taught his apprentice everything he knew. Then his apprentice killed him in his sleep."
Or did he ?
It was mentioned in the movie the troops must be clones. In the book darth plagueis, the sith lord hego damask says he thinks it would be better if the army were all clones, since they would take any orders without question. I found that interesting!
To me snoke is darth plagueis.
Honestly, I came into this thinking "yeah bullshit." but after listening... I think you have a solid theory. I think this could possibly be the case and I'd be all for it. I am not sure if they would do this but I really hope they do!
+Kyle Piper Yeah, that's pretty much the general consensus, until I put in some extra research I thought it was implausible as well.
+The Stupendous Wave In case you didn't see it yet:

+Zachary Dufrene what was it?? it's cancelled out damnit
+Kyle Piper Darth Plagueis is deffinenty a menacing character in Star Wars. I think he could pull it off !
+Kyle Piper I do want to believe that Snoke is Plagueis.. But JJ Abrams have said that Snoke doesnt have any connection with Palpatine.. Soo :/
And of course they just made him a random guy that dies and then turns out to actually be a clone made by the actual master villain FUCKING DARTH SIDIOUS, LET HIM FUCKING REST OH GOD
Yep, Nailed it! Any SW fan should of picked up on Snoke possibly being Darth Plaguies.
@Thanos Yep
I don't give a single fuck who Snoke is! All I know is that with Andy Serkis playing him, he's going to be a badass villain
you not a true star wars fan
+Manny N how does that mean he's not a true sw fan? Idiot.
+Manny N Yeah, why am I not a true fan? seriously, I want a valid reason you said that
+Fat Gaming Thank You! I don't see how my love for Andy Serkis as an actor makes me not a true Star wars fan?
+Manny N And you're not a true fan for saying thay
Plagieus created an illusion called jar jar! And jar jar was close to sidius! Therefore sidius was being spied on by plagieus!
Naughty Noose or he used essence transfer to take jar jars body and the plagieus that palpatine thought he killed was an illusion
Shh yousa spoil Ze plot
A shame that Disney failed to be creative enough with Snoke. In the end he turned out to be Goldmember.
If this theory is true, then, the new trilogy will kick ass.
Welp...
this comment hasn't aged well
Lol this theory sucks
Snoke is Obito Uchiha. Dun Dun Dun. 😆
He then sacrifices Plagueis to bring Bane back to life.
my weaboo alert just went over 9000...!
I just watched sw 7 for the second time and I noticed that in the scene where han solo and kylo ren are on the bridge, kylo ren says that snoke is wise. Darth Plagueis s called the wise too.....
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Plagueis/Legends
Jar jar binks is supreme leader snoke.
no but Jar-Jar could actually become a Spy for the Dark Side. That way our hate for JarJar would make sense. We all felt that there was something odd with him all along! I think that would be an awesome solution for the Jar-Jar problem and also it would explain why he was put into the senate. Sidious/Snoke/Plagueis were pulling the strings on him all along.
4:00 is that Voldemort :D
idebly They're so similair. The only real difference is the longer face. Maybe that's why snoke looks different. So he wouldn't resemble voldemort too much.
no I mean it literally looks like Voldemort from the goblet of fire scene :D the background and everything.
I immediately thought of that too, and I think it is Voldemort. martyn_1 I have to inform you that we live in an era of media manipulation, so editing Voldemort's face to be taller is not a big deal.
idebly Yup.
It definitely is just a photoshopped voldemort.
Holy fuck I forgot about darth plagues and I think he is
Yeah, Snoke was a nobody who was cut in half and was actually a creation of Palpatine whom Disney said was also a clone.
great video but since the PLageius novel isnt canon, he doesnt have to be a Muun, correct? i thinks this makes it way more interesting to see what changes they will make regarding his race if any at all
+Jason melita My thought's exactly. I also heard that Snoke is 20ft tall.
+Ryan Forder Yesterday it was revealed in People Magazine that Snoke is 7 feet tall and very thin. Sounding more and more like a Muun. makingstarwars.net/2015/12/people-magazine-confirms-snokes-height-and-weight-from-star-wars-the-force-awakens/
+Brent Stewart (Terrormaster) Could also be a Kaminoan. Or, say, a gungan (ahuehue).
Snoke must be Plagueis, i can't see Snoke being a dominated presence otherwise. If he is a entirely new presence I'll be very disappointed
I think we are all very disappointed right now
Enea Tarabelli sidious in legends survived by cloning himself it wasn’t a big deal for me.
Snoke is a clone, made in a barrell
@@trevorv7868 the emperor wasn't a puppet tho
Snoke has a nose.... This guy doesn't.
sharkfinbite psssh they want to belive it's possible for plagueis to grow a nose and get a smaller head.
Plagueis's appearance is no longer canon. He could look like anything.
I would place money betting on Snoke is not Plagueis.
they may aswell just take out the empire, the jedi, luke, and the rebellion based on what you believe
all of episode 7 was just a remake of the old movies
On the movie he looks like plagueis but he has a nose lol
So Plaguis changed body's just like Captain Ginyu?!
So, here's what's canon about Plagueis:
-He can create life (unless Palpatine was just lying to manipulate Anakin, quite possible as well).
They basically have a few options:
-Implement something from clone wars to make his character tie in (it would be retarded to make some sideshow cartoon a major part of the story).
+Opus 32 Extremely well explained.
Snoke is Captain Ginyu???
Too bad it's a coincidence
"Supreme Leader snoke is wise"- Kylo Ren.
"have you ever heard the tale of Darth Plaugeis the wise?"- Darth Sideous.
I don't think thats an accident... Also without giving much away.. Look at the Jaw..
Man such disappointment
I just watched episode 3 again tonight and when Palpatine talks about "Darth Plagueis the wise" that same ominous music that plays when you see Snoke in episode 7 plays!!!
it was revealed today that plagues is snoke.
Colider
+Adrian Mendoza I can't find the video where they confirm it on collider
Emma Shipe
I just posted the link in the comment before yours
It's not there
+Jason Houston Yeh I saw that sketch in a spanish magazine showing the profiles of each of the characters, and the Snoke sketch did show the Munn race basically off the artwork for Plageuis the Novel, mixed with Sideou's hood.
I really hope it is plaigous, he is one of my favourite EU characters and think they could make a great Story with him
expanded universe? wasn't he mentioned in episode 3?
+BricklordLP oh yes 😅. sorry just thought about the book
+Malick Sow favorite character and you didnt even spell his name right?
Bro, your confidence speaking has improved so much since here. Love your channel
Still cant believe he wasnt plagueis. Just imagine rewatching the opera house scene with the knowledge that he was still alive.
I think that snoke is plagueis, maybe even his ultimate form cuz the face has a huge red scar
I think you are correct on this theory.
+nosoupfuru I hope so!:)
+nweezey123 The force is Anakin's father. If anything, the person who made Anakin would be like the guy that introduced his mother and father.
I think Snoke is Plagueis. It makes so much sense.
I wish but it's confirmed it's not earth plagues :(((
He isn't. Such disappointment
he sure looks like Darth Plagueis after watching the movie
Darth Plagueis suffered from a great injury, Darth sidious/palpatine supposedly killing him... So if Snoke is Darth Plagueis is Snoke, that would be the injury...
The soundtrack when palpatine tells anakin the story is identical to snoke's soundtrack in the movie.
+TheMaster1 nah, I don't believe that. look at the jedi staffs in the films, they are just a nod to the lore.
doesn't mean anything.
Sidious is returning in episode IX and if Snoke is Plagueis then I’d love to the two have an epic lightsaber duel. And then Sidious should win.
It will be Darth Plagueis and here is how it will work! Kylo Ren is either Luke or leias son, and is attracted to Plagueis because Plagueis is Anakins father! We already know Ren is obsessed with Vader, and that is what attracted him to Plagueis!
+MKCD 20 can i spoil the movie for you and either confirm/deny the theories you have?
+Jaymyne Fitzgerald do it
Nope... He's neither Luke or Leia's son. You ARE on to somethin tho, keep tryin'.
+Kal-El Naseer Kylo Ren is the son of Leia and Han
+greasybagel True... I was reading some EU material right before I wrote that & I was thinking of Luke & Mara Jade. I know he's Ben Solo.
Damn just encountered this video after mostly watching your newer stuff. Your speaking has improved a lot :)
Hey man, nice video...! Even if someone would not agree with this hypothesis, there is really interesting info about the Dark Side in here. Thanks!
The real identity of Snoke is Snoke and his real name is Darth Plagueis the wise..
but lets face it, he's not a moon since those look dumb
+Reggie Fields Didn't Snoke look exactly like a moon in TFA though? Not with an as tall head but still
+Reggie Fields *HE IS HALF MUUN!!!!!! PERIOD!!!!! He was never ever a full blooded muun*
+Reggie Fields "That's no moon"
Darth Plagueis's real name is Hego Demask.
+gaijin1979 only in the EU
Sounds pretty good
I think Supreme Leader Snoke is Supreme Leader Snoke.
3:57 I'm pretty sure that that's just a picture of voldemort just stretched
The pic at 4:02 made me realize that Plagueis looks a lot like Voldemort. I doubt Disney would allow the new villain to look so much like another, already famous... Besides that point, I find this video's evidence to be quite convincing.
+BB-8 Awakens That picture is fasho Voldemort. Just edited. Stretched face. I hella laughed when i saw it.
+BB-8 Awakens Its misleading its just what the guy has used for his video, just to give a idea of what Plageuis could well look like in the sequel trilogy.
PLAGIUES IS ANAKIN'S FATHER! ANAKIN'S FATHER WAS NEVER DISCOVERED BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
yeah, and he wiped Shmi Skywalkers mind increasing the medi count in his blood since the medichlorian count only indicates force usage but not the force itself.
You do realise we already know that Plagueis manipulated the medichlorians to create Anikin or to create the chosen one.
Lol that’s why they added him into canon to explain Anakin
Congratulations man very nice video
This may be an outlandish cockamamie theory... but it’s still better than what we actually got in the films.
*99% Sure It is Darth Plagueis*
+Ulf Wildström You will be disappointed
Robert Esposito we'll see
How do u know just wondering I hope it is though
Not really worth it to explain now. Just know I have been involved. I might not be able to tell you whats in the film, but I can tell you whats not. This theory is not in the film.
Ron Burrell Jr all the facts i have seen
I love the emotion in your voice.
I agree with this
I'm not sure if this counts as spoilers but just in case it does...
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After watching The Force Awakens I'm pretty sure Supreme Leader Snoke is Darth Plagueis
+Joseph Haynes He looks different but there are so many similarly things man
+Joseph Haynes How
the few scenes he was in convinced you of that?? hmm. I do think it would be awesome to think that snoke is plagueis, but he did or said absolutely nothing at all to even give the slightest hint that he was. he barely even looked like a muun. for those who think he did take off your nerd glasses and try to be real.
+Mike Werley k chill out m8
Joseph Haynes I was just curious as to how you formed your opinion. Because if I missed something I'd like to know. I've done my homework on the subject and I'm thinking it's possible although unlikely that snoke is plagueis. I hope he is because I think it would make a great storyline but I'm doubtful.
*SPOILERS*
I don't think Rey is Luke's daughter. I think she was created by Plagueis, just like Anakin.
These aren't "SPOILERS"
That's only what you think (your opinion) and between SPOILERS and your thoughts is a huge difference. Understood? GOOD!
This may be a dumb question. Is there a new Canon reference to Plagueis's species or does the notion of him being a Mu'un come strictly from E.U. (non-disney-canon)
U make high quality videos man I like em. I would like to know about history of Sith Lords. In depth stuff. hour long videos wouldn't be so bad
maybe it's plagius, but they changed his name to snoke? and this theory has always made sense. in star wars there is always a larger, more threatening enemy pulling the strings in the shadows. and if it's not plagius in appearance, it could be his spirit possessing a diffrent alien, which ties into what you said in the video. I hope it's him. It gives star wars Its own Thanos.
Remember Senator/Emperor Palpatine was also Darth Sidious. So Plagueis going by the name of Snoke is possible.
+ragemonkey117 Maybe he's going by the name snoke. Darth Plagueis is a traditional sith given name. Even Palpatine had a Darth name, Darth Sidious. Darth Vaders real name was Anakin Skywalker, etc.
+ragemonkey117 You mean, like "There's always a bigger fish"..?
+ragemonkey117 Snoke might be Plagueis’ real name. Sith lords never use their real names. Darth Sidious was really Palpatine, Darth Vader was really Anakin Skywalker, Darth Tyrannus was really Count Dooku.
+Anthony Cortese unlikely though, his formal name was hego damask of damask holdings, unless he essence transferred to another alien, does it not seem strange that he changed his name to a seemingly meaningless snoke? unless of course snoke is a title much like ren but that goes beyond speculation at that point, we'll just have to wait and see :)
"The freaking clone troopers" you mean the strongest army in the galaxy's history?
I've done alot of research. Darth plagues is snoke. everything points to it. he trained sidios. snoke even says he was there for the rise of the empire and the fall. snoke hid in the shadows. palpateen injured him. he would stay hiding till he had the chance to rise again
Nicholas lester So to hide in the shadows he grew a human like nose and shrunk his long face?
+steven coombes Yes, he forgot this and that both Snoke and Plagueis were called wise in movie 3 from Palpatine and now in the new one from Kylo Ren.
"In order to portray him, Andy Serkis required a motion capture suit. He has vast knowledge of the Dark Side..."
For a moment, I thought you were talking about Andy Serkis.
I...could sort of believe that, actually.
Idk. It's a cool theory, but JJ has gone on record as saying he's only treating the original trilogy as canon. Maybe he made an exception in this case, but I think it's a bit unlikely.
+Evan S When did he say he is only treating the original trilogy as canon?
+Spatan exp I can't remember exactly where, but I did see the quote in a couple of articles.
+IamGod Woah, woah, woah. Why the anger? I indeed went back and double checked, and you're right, he did word it that way. I stand corrected. What was the need for taking a shit on me? What the fuck is wrong with you? Can't afford your psych meds?
Evan S Its the internet, you get people with no lives taking there anger out on the internet unfortunately. Thats what ruins it.
Yeah, I'm sure you've never made an erroneous statement on the internet, champ. And hey, unlike 99% of all people who post on the internet, I actually freely admitted I was wrong.
I think they have already gone over this before. It's not anyone we have seen. I think it might be Darth Jadus
This is disappointing to watch now after The Last Jedi. After we've been told Snoke doesn't matter. After almost all the hype built up for the new trilogy has deflated.
Can someone tell me the song that starts at 0:25? plss
love watching these videos! Keep em coming bro! :D
after days of research I have finally found who he is it's squidward no doubt about it.
This would still allow him to be around during the rise and fall of the Empire as he says.
no its not. It has been confirmed not to be Plagueis
Rapid Steve directors have lied before,
+The Nikkuu You're right.
+Greg Towarnicki not quite. As canon has it, palpatine THINKS he killed him
There is no proof he succeeded
Sith can use essence transference. They body hop but the body cab deteriorate by not being a perfect match.
where did you find that picture at 0:55
Another piece of evidence (that I saw in another video) that suggests Snoke might be Darth Plagueis is that Snoke's theme is very similar to the music that plays in Revenge of the Sith when Palpatine talks to Anakin about Darth Plagueis.
