Legend has it that quirrel didn't go to the lake when we saw his nail there, he went to get his swimsuit to then go for a nice swim after the "Dream no more" ending.
The implication quirrel drowned himself out of guilt for causing his teacher's death fills my soul with an indescribable amount of an emotion ive never experienced
I'm not sure he drowned himself for that reason, (or at all); more he completed his purpose and has nothing else to live for, so he's ready to pass on. I'm still in denial that he's dead, though, so I feel you there.

@@quirrelisvoid7176 I don't think our little ghost wants anything, seeing as they have to be completely "empty" to defeat the Radiance, something the original HK failed to do precisely because of their desire to please the Pale King. The true Hollow Knight had to be chosen not by any being, but by fate itself.

I don’t know why, but this was very emotional to watch. It’s like I could feel my own personal playthrough of the game all over again. A whole other layer of the game is being felt in a way. Amazing work!

It’s such a cool detail that at 1:04 the song says “like an elegy” with a scene of quirrel remembering monomon. Monomon was the one who wrote the elegy for hallownest. Just a neat little detail.

The devil's after both of us" at 3:03 with The Knight and The Hollow Knight fighting while The Knight knows that The Hollow Knight is just another victim of the circunstancies and Radiance is the one behind the curtains and the real responsible for Hallownest's misery just... hit different
I would say it's more talking about the devil is after THK and the radience, maybe the devil being talked about is the shade Lord :) it feels like THK Is saying 'The devils after me and her!' Very well done timing

2 things: 1, all of the hornet action sequences were absolutely beautiful and 2, the shot where the dream nail lights up at 3:20 is awesome. Everyone else did great too, but wow I was blown away there.

3:10 I love this part and everything after it, all of it looks so fluid, like hornet jumping in, (with the smoothest freakin animation I’ve ever seen) and the knight jumping around the radiance and the shade lord closing in on the radiance and the sudden sad cut to the knight and the EVERYTHING it looks SO good

I unconsciously do it here, but on most other platforms I only use the likes for what I like. I just save the yt stuff I love.
3:09 was one of the best animated sections not for style, but for the power that it created in THK’s overhead strike with The Radiance in the background, showing, well, “power.” Since The Radiance has a tight control over THK because it was the vessel meant to stop her, and it ultimately failed. This shot really shows that this is the thing in your way that’s stopping you from beating the infection and saving Hallownest once and for all.
I feel like not enough people talk about this part. It's my favourite part as well because, just like you said, the feeling of power in that strike.

3:11 is probably my favorite shot of the whole video. The hollow knight's pose, with the Radiance's silhouette is just wonderful.

I thought the radiances outline was just like puppet strings made from the orange infection goop, showing how the HK is being controlled by the infection.

0:00 First off, amazing job hosting the map! I've never heard this song but it goes incredibly well with Hollow Knight. I love how detailed the rocky background is while the vessel walks by! That must've taken forever. Also cute little motion when they tilt their head up!
0:12 I love how the background changes so smoothly! I'm also a big fan of the flying upward animation with the trail!
0:22 Absolutely adorable depiction of the vessel!! The little jump is so cute!!! Also the jump into the well was extremely well executed! I have no idea how you pulled off the movements from that angle, so I'm very impressed.
0:32 PIXEL ART!!!! I feel like seeing pixel animation is so rare on maps, and this specific one was done incredibly well! The lighting really made the entire scene for me! The orange glow on the chains was such a cool touch. Also how the infection times with the music at the end was so smart!!

OH Multi Artist/Animator Project. i had no idea what it meant.
Its pretty easy to tell them apart due to even the different styles they animate the knight in
DAAAAAAAAAAAAMN. Ok so first of all, the quality of this animation is really great, I love it. Secondly, oh my god this is such an insane way to commemorate the anniversary. Third, everyone was so amazing, but Salty and Megateyourbagel and Hawper absolutely slaughtered that climax! Fourth, Kandy, I absolutely loved the grimm scene! Fifth, Puggy oh my god you gave so much emotion to quirrel, it really reminded me of the true tragedy hollow nest really was stuck in, it was so perfect! Everyone did such a perfect and beautiful job here!!! This truly is the most beautiful commemoration of this event I could have even imagined! good job everyone!

It really nice to see a MAP of hollow knight. The animators did such a good job too! This game is so important to me and it's only been a year since I've got it, but this game has changed me a lot, I honestly can't explain how much hk means to me. I meant so many nice people and had awesome memories during my first playthrough. Hk will forever be my favorite game, happy birthday hollow knight, you can officially go to kindergarten

This is it. it shows that the ghost "The character you play" was perfect for this. A being made of void and a cost. No emotions, no attachments, only an objective.
As I totally agree with Sadist, I would be lying if I didn't say I took a particular interest into Tenshiarts's work, I love the style for the few frames you put into this, what a wonderful artist, Bravo!!
It's crazy to see content that uses The Crane Wives songs, let alone is based around them! This is incredibly stunning, and I'm so thankful I got the chance to see it. Everyone did a wonderful job, needless to say I'm going to be checking out these animators!

This video truly is a masterpiece. The fact that so many animators gathered and offered such different art styles really reinforces the fact that the HK community is MASSIVE. The video shows everything that is important in the Dream No More run, brings so many memories back.
And who would have thought that such a groovy music (which is an absolute banger) would so perfectly fit to reinforce the lore, the dynamism and the action of the game? It's a great idea

As someone who loves Hollow Knight so very much, this animation leaves me speechless. Able to capsulate the entire game from beginning to end in about 5 minutes is simply incredible. Having multiple animators work on it as well with each unique art style makes it feel truly alive and made with love. Hats off to you all. (Maybe a Silk Song animation once that comes out would be a perfect sequel!)

The scene where hornet comes to help the knight to dream nail the hollow knight and when the knight strikes radiance with its final hits were awesome and amazing. All the animators are very talented. Thank you for such a masterpiece.
Can I just point out that in 2:27, Hornets wearing weaversong? It's the details like this that make this truly incredible.

I remember watching this right when it came out, which was when I was in my last year of middle school, still one of my favorite maps. Cheers to another year.
It took me a while to start making progress on my watchlist backlog... But wow, this is marvelous! So many references, such a good music choice, nicely stylized animation, there's a ton to like here. Congratulations to all the MAPpers involved, it flowed together naturally and made a great whole:)

This popped up in my recommended several times, but I refused to watch it since I had... not the greatest impressions in terms of fan animations.
I just watched it today, and wish I had done sooner. THIS SENDS CHILLS DOWN MY SPINES. The emotions, the extra interpretations taken by different artists, and PHENOMINAL combat scenes as well as tieing into the whole tragedy of Hallownest. This comment will probably be buried considering how late I am to the party, but here's my gratitude. Thank you for creating this masterpiece, and thank you all for being the community that you are.

@@Turner17 Personally really liked how you gave THK those eye things. It's not the usual take, and it isn't really anything too big, but I thought it was interesting. Also love how expressive the pain/anger was too.
@@editor9449 ay thank you! The eyes (and particularly the eyebrows) were done that way to fill up more head space. That way you can read emotions better, especially without a mouth :)
