I have a question about a potential trap design If pillagers can shoot creepers to draw their ago then is it possible to trap charged creeper and put it next villager and put the pillager where it will shoot the villager but instead hit the charged creeper drawing agro Leading to a larger explosion than normal tnt

The boogyman mechanic was such a genius addition to last life. It creates perfect opportunities for drama, and a good basis for so much headcanon lore.
Not to mention, it forced the season to play out to reach an end. It's no small task getting that many people from all around the world to record simultaneously, so they knew they needed a means to keep the season relatively short.
@Element of Kindness well, not necessarily. third life had no boogeyman mechanic and it was a week shorter than last life. there were more lives in play in last life than there was in third life, though, so that come into play as well

I love how well the song pairs up so well with the animation. For example, in 1:41, the scene depicts Smallishbeans running away from LDShadowLady-who he killed-while the lyrics were “Won’t you stay with me, my Darling,”. This is ironic as he’s running away from his wife while the music is stating the opposite; someone staying beside their beloved. Thank you for reading my Ted Talk.
Kate Pillsbury, one of the singers of The Crane Wives, said at a concert that when somebody animated Curses in 2022, it changed their lives. Before that, they were a small band without much recognition outside their home U.S. state of Michigan. But ever since that animatic, they have become well known throughout the internet and developed a large fanbase. When I heard her say this, I instantly thought of this video. It’s the video that got me into the crane wives, and no doubt plenty of other fans too. This is a canon part of Crane Wives history right here.
1:20 I love the presentation of Mumbo's end crystals. Subtly glowing in the buildup before the potion is even thrown, and then the slow, methodical way he blasts Bdubs with it. And then Etho coming in with a PASSION to avenge his base buddy - feels like one of the more violent moments in this whole animation.
I love it cause in the scene where etho holds the potion you can see mumbo and bdubs at the sides with their eyes red too, it's just boogeyman vs boogeyman mumbo got bdubs then etho got mumbo, tho bdubs broke the chain by getting tango

I absolutely love the last part of "Make a mercy out of" because I know it ends with "me" and it works so well with Scott just refusing to kill someone, making him a "mercy"
Episode 6 is so chaotic. There were 6 boogeymen, and like 7 people decided to group together for a "stack kill", of which three were boogeymen. One boogeyman kills another boogeyman, then a third kills that boogeyman, then the first boogeyman who is now red is given a life and immediately kills the person who gave them the life. Then the fourth boogeyman tries to kill a target but is blown up instead, then returns, kills that target. That target's own trap kills the fifth boogeyman, whose trap then kills that target a second time. Also a sixth boogeyman got a kill and another non-boogeyman drowned because they forgot to press the swim key up a water column.
@@snowkitty19144th boogey is Joel, he traps Lizzies mushroom but Grian finds him and it blows up, Lizzie is weakened and doesn’t heal, Joel comes back and kills her 5th was Scott, he hunts impulse, starting in the scottage basement where imp escapes, imp has a trap set up for when he needs to use it and Scott pushes him in Timmy is the last Boogey and wasn’t related to any of the others, he lured Lizzie into the exile trap where she fell in lava
I really love the choice to depict the Boogeyman as a bit of a wandering curse, a kind of spirit that roams from victim to victim. It's a really good interpretation of the mechanic. This is very well done Chris. Oh forget the formalities, this was AMAZING!
Oh my god I just realized you lined up the word “mercy” with Scott choosing to let the boogeyman curse consume take his life rather than killing someone else! That’s so clever!!
Actually, he wasn't the boogyman, and he didn't spare anyone, when he said mercy it shows him being the last one alive, that's why he falls out of the world... In the video it shows he falls out of the world, and it's at a mountain sooooo, no, he didn't spare and he wasn buggyboi
it makes it look more emotional than it actually is. In the actual game, it's just all laughs and joking around. Here it looks like people actually feel the sadness and grief expressed in the animation
Can I just bring to light a scene that I think deserves way more attention then it got? 2:02 with Inthelittewoods blowing up both Bdubs and Tango was absolutely well executed, and perfectly timed as the song quite literally goes “The devils after both of us.” My favorite scene.
Actually, I think that Bdubs’ death was because of Pearl. If I’m remembering right, then she was originally the boogieman before something happened that made her unable to play for the day, so Martyn (or however you spell his name) became the boogieman. However, Pearl had laid out that trap before she was forced off, so maybe it was still her kill? Idk, lol.
I think it was BigB that got blown up and not Bdubs but there name are very similar so it could be that you misspelled but just incase you didn't I made this comment :) (and I am 5 months late but I guess you can now watch the animation again)
I can't help but notice that the quality of the animation rises as the video progresses. It's not necessarily a mistake, it's just interesting. Fantastic work in any case.
I did work on this video in segments! I took a break from working on it to finish The Other Side animatic first, and then I returned to this one! So it would make sense that you'd see an increase in quality :]
This is amazing! I love how you depicted Scott’s kill especially, I feel like the fandom focuses a lot on his second Boogey curse where he decided not to kill anyone as a tactical decision, while he pretty brutally hunted Impulse down the first time lol
Well, he did have more lives to lose when he killed Impulse, which kinda shows that the more lives someone had, the more desperate they become when they become when they become the boogeyman. Joel in session 2 was the best example of it.
YOOOO THIS WAS SO GREAT! You have such a great sense for dynamic poses and effects. I think my favorite part was when Mumbo killed Bdubs with the crystal, and then Etho just comes in swinging after Mumbo, the animation was so fluid and impactful.
Okay all Comments are amazing but I saw NO ONE pointing out this amazing song lyrics and animation and lore combo. 01:46 "When this house don't feel like home?" is the lyrics and we see Scott chasing Impulse and getting the kill. See this direct quote from Brittanica dictionary: House refers to a building in which someone lives. In contrast, a home can refer either to a building or to any location that a person thinks of as the place where she lives and that belongs to her. Or in other words House is just the building but Home is where someone belongs, lives and most importantly *_Feels safe_* . And Impulse escapes to his base a.k.a. to his house after escaping from Scott's first boogey attack. But he gets attacked (or rather pushed down) in his base. His base a.k.a. his house wasn't safe... *_His house.. Wasn't home..._* Thank you for coming to my TED talk

I love this video. I love all the smaller details, like when Etho is holding a splash posion. You can see the red in Mumbo and Bdubs eyes too. Mumbo is acually holding a end crystal ready to kill. Amazing work! Enjoyed it so much.
@@VannyVR1987 1) Sympathy. Being the first red in episode 2, Joel spent the most part of the first few episodes as a line wolf. He wanted friends. 2) Doesn't make sense to kill off a red when so many non-reds are alive, when you could use their help.
My favorite detail is Ren’s ears laying down at 2:09. Animals like dogs and cats that have ears standing up usually fold them down like that when they are scared and angry, and blending the fear and anger Ren felt in that moment is so subtle and probably not even intentional, but I love it
You did NOT have to go that hard my friend, this looks like an insane amount of work. Love the specific focus on all the Boogie Kills, and ending on Scott having refused to kill right before winning it all was *chef's kiss* .
THIS IS INSANE???? The Crane Wives, Last Life, AND some absolutely stunning art?? I'm blown away, the way your represent the lives and the boogeyman curse, and you give each character their place to shine! You get across that feeling of betrayal, paranoia, and love lost which was so paramount to Last Life, and of course the song choice is perfect for it! Amazingly done!

I love how at 0:57 when Ren kills Skizz, right before Ren pulls the lever the light flashes across his glasses, revealing them to be red. You can even see how Skizz knows that he's in trouble from his expression. Amazingly done, I love it.

my favorite part of this video is probably at 1:11 with etho's fishing rod kill. i just love the simple elegance conveyed, where etho pulled scar up and slashed with one hand in almost a bow. the whole thing is really well done
I love the depiction of the random choice of who becomes the killer for the sessions. This little red wisp floating/zooming around and then the eyes turn freaking great depiction of that choice.
I once said that Curses was my favorite Crane Wives song and that i knew it like the back of my hand. Someone then asked me if by any chance i was familiar with the Life Series, and i wasn't at the time. I started watching the Life Series last week and i am so grateful for that interaction because im literally in love with this series and the combination of my favorite series and my favorite song is just incredible
I swear half the views is just me cause I’ve been watching practically on repeat! I’m obsessed with all of your last life animatics, keep up the amazing work!!

One of the greatest things about this is that the song matches with it so well as well as pefectly timed. For example, when Big B killed Cleo the song said "Won't you stay with me my darling." the same when Lizzie died and when Skiz was falling down to Ren's trap it said "down, down, down".
THAT WAS AMAZING! The movements timed with the music, how certain scenes were portrayed along with the boogey curse and transitioned into others so well (for example Lizzie dying and her death quite literally bleeding into the next scene with Scott and Impulse- THE ENDING? THAT LOOKED SO COOL? Amazing all around!

coming back to this two seasons later, and it is still a gorgeous masterpiece! I can see how much work was put into selecting the scenes for each lyric, and I'm sure a lot of comments have mentioned different parts, but something I liked a lot is the beat at 1:01 during skizz's fall, the instrumentals kicking in just as he hits the ground almost sound like his heart breaking, and I thought that was super cool!!

Y’know, when I come back to this animatic I think: This started a new page of my entire life. It changed my interests, everything. I only watched Scott’s series on the sidelines, but this AMV got me into everything that makes me *me*. It gave me my favorite fandom The Life Series, and got me into The Crane Wives, which has come to be my all time favorite band. Got me into art, as well, since i have been drawing before, but this started getting me intrigued with human designs as i had only drawn dragons and cats. It’s amazing what one video can change an entire person’s life, and i’m happy to call this my one of my all time favorite AMVs, as it’ll always have a special place in my heart for started a new page in my life.
It’s such a small detail that I’m only noticing now after watching this at least fifteen times, but I love how in the segment where Bigb and Tango both die, there’s a little crescent moon on the back of the chest that blew Bigb up, to signify that it was Pearl’s trap and boogieman kill… it’s only on screen for like a second or two but wow I love the attention to detail!
THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL- all the boogeymen scenes, the shots, the way they’re all COLORED FOR CRYING OUT LOUD- NOW THATS AN AMAZING ANIMATIC! I thought it wouldn’t have gotten better from the last one but I was so wrong- wonderful work!!

Mumbo's crystals are so,,, fluid. The concept of putting an end crystal down can feel clunky, but your animation makes it as smooth as mumbo manages to do it. Amazing.
YOU NEVER MISS! You never miss the mark, and this is more proof! The fact it's all colored adds a whole other level to the events, especially with the emphasis on the colors of the lives. The transitions from the colors jumping to each other, like Scott's floating things, works incredibly well! And even when the scenes are changing, the action flows so well, like that Scott and Impulse scuffle was so clear to see even in the rapid motion of it all. The perspectives too! Martyn pushing the TNT minecart and leaping over the edge to save Ren were AMAZING shots, and you can see the movement present with just a few frames alone. The boogeyman curse being shown as a little firelight, swooping from player to player, turning their eyes red, was a fantastic way to show who the killer was, quick and easy to understand! It felt like it was flowing from scene to scene too, as if it's leaving a trail of death behind it no matter where it goes. I'm such a huge fan of how minecraft deaths are portrayed, and the way you depicted the boogeyman kills was just. Yes. These are exactly how you could picture them within the moment, they're solid and brutal, and get the point across. Even with the kills, the shots still switch it up, from front, to back, to the side, it's not just one visible angle for all of them, and they all feel so dynamic. This was even more incredible than I thought it would be! You've really outdone yourself this time!
This was the animation that got me go watch the life series, I had no idea what any of those people were I now, re-watching it I was able to recognize everyone. Life has become one of my favorites, so thank you for this incredible animation

This animation really sums up how brutal last life was. Death murder and betrayal, that’s most of what was there and that’s what the animation shows. Amazing job
i've watched this vid so many times i absolutely adore it, but i want to specifically call out the heart animations at 1:04. they are absolutely fantastic and i find myself doing celebratory claps and/or snaps after them every time. the red one with fire is probably one of the most satisfying animations i've seen and i don't even know how to explain why. just one of those delicious lil pieces of art that scratch a lil itch in your brain you didn't know existed. wonderful wonderful job!!

This was amazing!! I loved how the boogeyman curse was displayed, and the deaths, it was great! I loved the way the lyrics fit so well, especially when BigB killed Cleo. I also adored how the purple eyes appeared during Scott’s death. Since it was a watcher kill, as Grian did the /kill, and he’s kinda a watcher
That last thing I noted as such in my log of events on the server. Instead of giving the credit to Grian, I instead set the credit to "Watcher 3", a little callback to EVO.
The way skizz falls, so graceful. Makes sense, right after he respawned he was praising the trap and its creator. Skizz is just a wholesome man with little to no vengeance in him. If someone were to fall with grace it would be skizz
Then you compare it to Scott's boogeyman kill, where a surprise attack knocks someone who thought he won off into HIS OWN TRAP in HIS OWN HOUSE peak animation
As usual, YOU HAVE DELIVERED! Oh my god, each scene just exhibited so much emotion that it felt like I was reliving the time when I watched the actual things unfold. Also I can't thank you enough because this just portrayed perfectly how each scenario went in my head; the drama, the betrayal, and my personal favorite, the anger so amazingly presented during Tango's part. It's just, you can feel in those few seconds how much rage and hurt coursed through him. UGH I love it, I love everything!!
ive watched this animatic at least a dozen times already its just so incredibly good. the song is one of my favorites already, but so many of these moments are summed up yet so intense and not skipped over at all. bigb killing cleo and tangos rage are two of my absolute favorites in here, theyre SO intense and so so good

Kate Pillsbury, one of the singers of The Crane Wives, said at a concert that when somebody animated Curses in 2022, it changed their lives. Before that, they were a small band without much recognition outside their home U.S. state of Michigan. But ever since that animatic, they have become well known throughout the internet and developed a large fanbase. When I heard her say this, I instantly thought of this video. It’s the video that got me into the crane wives, and no doubt plenty of other fans too. This is a canon part of Crane Wives history right here.

And then Etho coming in with a PASSION to avenge his base buddy - feels like one of the more violent moments in this whole animation.

I absolutely love the last part of "Make a mercy out of" because I know it ends with "me" and it works so well with Scott just refusing to kill someone, making him a "mercy"

Episode 6 is so chaotic. There were 6 boogeymen, and like 7 people decided to group together for a "stack kill", of which three were boogeymen. One boogeyman kills another boogeyman, then a third kills that boogeyman, then the first boogeyman who is now red is given a life and immediately kills the person who gave them the life. Then the fourth boogeyman tries to kill a target but is blown up instead, then returns, kills that target. That target's own trap kills the fifth boogeyman, whose trap then kills that target a second time. Also a sixth boogeyman got a kill and another non-boogeyman drowned because they forgot to press the swim key up a water column.

I really love the choice to depict the Boogeyman as a bit of a wandering curse, a kind of spirit that roams from victim to victim. It's a really good interpretation of the mechanic. This is very well done Chris. Oh forget the formalities, this was AMAZING!

Can I just bring to light a scene that I think deserves way more attention then it got? 2:02 with Inthelittewoods blowing up both Bdubs and Tango was absolutely well executed, and perfectly timed as the song quite literally goes “The devils after both of us.” My favorite scene.
Actually, I think that Bdubs’ death was because of Pearl. If I’m remembering right, then she was originally the boogieman before something happened that made her unable to play for the day, so Martyn (or however you spell his name) became the boogieman. However, Pearl had laid out that trap before she was forced off, so maybe it was still her kill? Idk, lol.

This is amazing! I love how you depicted Scott’s kill especially, I feel like the fandom focuses a lot on his second Boogey curse where he decided not to kill anyone as a tactical decision, while he pretty brutally hunted Impulse down the first time lol
Well, he did have more lives to lose when he killed Impulse, which kinda shows that the more lives someone had, the more desperate they become when they become when they become the boogeyman. Joel in session 2 was the best example of it.

See this direct quote from Brittanica dictionary: House refers to a building in which someone lives. In contrast, a home can refer either to a building or to any location that a person thinks of as the place where she lives and that belongs to her.
Or in other words House is just the building but Home is where someone belongs, lives and most importantly *_Feels safe_* .
And Impulse escapes to his base a.k.a. to his house after escaping from Scott's first boogey attack. But he gets attacked (or rather pushed down) in his base. His base a.k.a. his house wasn't safe... *_His house.. Wasn't home..._*

I love this video. I love all the smaller details, like when Etho is holding a splash posion. You can see the red in Mumbo and Bdubs eyes too. Mumbo is acually holding a end crystal ready to kill. Amazing work! Enjoyed it so much.

2) Doesn't make sense to kill off a red when so many non-reds are alive, when you could use their help.

My favorite detail is Ren’s ears laying down at 2:09. Animals like dogs and cats that have ears standing up usually fold them down like that when they are scared and angry, and blending the fear and anger Ren felt in that moment is so subtle and probably not even intentional, but I love it

My absolute favorite part was with Ren and Martyn. They are absolutely amazing at acting and I can tell they are really good friends.
I love the depiction of the random choice of who becomes the killer for the sessions. This little red wisp floating/zooming around and then the eyes turn freaking great depiction of that choice.
I once said that Curses was my favorite Crane Wives song and that i knew it like the back of my hand. Someone then asked me if by any chance i was familiar with the Life Series, and i wasn't at the time. I started watching the Life Series last week and i am so grateful for that interaction because im literally in love with this series and the combination of my favorite series and my favorite song is just incredible

One of the greatest things about this is that the song matches with it so well as well as pefectly timed. For example, when Big B killed Cleo the song said "Won't you stay with me my darling." the same when Lizzie died and when Skiz was falling down to Ren's trap it said "down, down, down".
THAT WAS AMAZING! The movements timed with the music, how certain scenes were portrayed along with the boogey curse and transitioned into others so well (for example Lizzie dying and her death quite literally bleeding into the next scene with Scott and Impulse- THE ENDING? THAT LOOKED SO COOL? Amazing all around!

coming back to this two seasons later, and it is still a gorgeous masterpiece! I can see how much work was put into selecting the scenes for each lyric, and I'm sure a lot of comments have mentioned different parts, but something I liked a lot is the beat at 1:01 during skizz's fall, the instrumentals kicking in just as he hits the ground almost sound like his heart breaking, and I thought that was super cool!!

Y’know, when I come back to this animatic I think: This started a new page of my entire life. It changed my interests, everything. I only watched Scott’s series on the sidelines, but this AMV got me into everything that makes me *me*. It gave me my favorite fandom The Life Series, and got me into The Crane Wives, which has come to be my all time favorite band. Got me into art, as well, since i have been drawing before, but this started getting me intrigued with human designs as i had only drawn dragons and cats. It’s amazing what one video can change an entire person’s life, and i’m happy to call this my one of my all time favorite AMVs, as it’ll always have a special place in my heart for started a new page in my life.
It’s such a small detail that I’m only noticing now after watching this at least fifteen times, but I love how in the segment where Bigb and Tango both die, there’s a little crescent moon on the back of the chest that blew Bigb up, to signify that it was Pearl’s trap and boogieman kill… it’s only on screen for like a second or two but wow I love the attention to detail!
THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL- all the boogeymen scenes, the shots, the way they’re all COLORED FOR CRYING OUT LOUD- NOW THATS AN AMAZING ANIMATIC! I thought it wouldn’t have gotten better from the last one but I was so wrong- wonderful work!!

Mumbo's crystals are so,,, fluid. The concept of putting an end crystal down can feel clunky, but your animation makes it as smooth as mumbo manages to do it. Amazing.

The fact it's all colored adds a whole other level to the events, especially with the emphasis on the colors of the lives. The transitions from the colors jumping to each other, like Scott's floating things, works incredibly well!
And even when the scenes are changing, the action flows so well, like that Scott and Impulse scuffle was so clear to see even in the rapid motion of it all. The perspectives too! Martyn pushing the TNT minecart and leaping over the edge to save Ren were AMAZING shots, and you can see the movement present with just a few frames alone.
The boogeyman curse being shown as a little firelight, swooping from player to player, turning their eyes red, was a fantastic way to show who the killer was, quick and easy to understand! It felt like it was flowing from scene to scene too, as if it's leaving a trail of death behind it no matter where it goes.
I'm such a huge fan of how minecraft deaths are portrayed, and the way you depicted the boogeyman kills was just. Yes. These are exactly how you could picture them within the moment, they're solid and brutal, and get the point across. Even with the kills, the shots still switch it up, from front, to back, to the side, it's not just one visible angle for all of them, and they all feel so dynamic.
This was even more incredible than I thought it would be! You've really outdone yourself this time!
This was the animation that got me go watch the life series, I had no idea what any of those people were I now, re-watching it I was able to recognize everyone. Life has become one of my favorites, so thank you for this incredible animation

i've watched this vid so many times i absolutely adore it, but i want to specifically call out the heart animations at 1:04. they are absolutely fantastic and i find myself doing celebratory claps and/or snaps after them every time. the red one with fire is probably one of the most satisfying animations i've seen and i don't even know how to explain why. just one of those delicious lil pieces of art that scratch a lil itch in your brain you didn't know existed. wonderful wonderful job!!

I loved how the boogeyman curse was displayed, and the deaths, it was great! I loved the way the lyrics fit so well, especially when BigB killed Cleo.
I also adored how the purple eyes appeared during Scott’s death. Since it was a watcher kill, as Grian did the /kill, and he’s kinda a watcher
That last thing I noted as such in my log of events on the server. Instead of giving the credit to Grian, I instead set the credit to "Watcher 3", a little callback to EVO.
The way skizz falls, so graceful. Makes sense, right after he respawned he was praising the trap and its creator. Skizz is just a wholesome man with little to no vengeance in him. If someone were to fall with grace it would be skizz
Then you compare it to Scott's boogeyman kill, where a surprise attack knocks someone who thought he won off into HIS OWN TRAP in HIS OWN HOUSE peak animation

As usual, YOU HAVE DELIVERED! Oh my god, each scene just exhibited so much emotion that it felt like I was reliving the time when I watched the actual things unfold. Also I can't thank you enough because this just portrayed perfectly how each scenario went in my head; the drama, the betrayal, and my personal favorite, the anger so amazingly presented during Tango's part. ive watched this animatic at least a dozen times already its just so incredibly good. the song is one of my favorites already, but so many of these moments are summed up yet so intense and not skipped over at all. bigb killing cleo and tangos rage are two of my absolute favorites in here, theyre SO intense and so so good

AAAH THIS IS SO GOOD! It's all so smooth and clean!! I don't know if I've seen this much MOVEMENT in one of these before! I think (for me) my favorite part was the Skizz and Ren scene. When Ren's glasses- and then Skizz was gone. That was my experience and it was PERFECT. Then the heart thing right after! AAH it was perfect. Can't give you enough credit my guy this is gorgeous
