If they were still alive, I could picture Roy Orbison or Gene Pitney singing this, too. Connie Smith sounds superb on this record, and what a dynamite arrangement!
WOW!! Not only is Connie Smith's singing still every bit as outstanding today as it was 50 years ago, she's got a new song that ranks with the very best that she has ever recorded! I loved hearing hearing it the first time on Circle when she premiered it on the Opry a few weeks back and the recorded version is equally great. And a terrific video, too! Are you playing attention, Recording Academy? This record is clearly the best thing by a female vocalist in the country field that's going to be released this year, give her a Grammy!!
Love 💘me some Connie Smith, can listen to her all day long while I'm at work and I do it alot, people come in and stay just to listen!! I'll definitely be listening all day on 8-14 cause it'll be her birthday 🎂and I wish her a Very Happy Birthday and I've been loving ❤💕her music for a long time, so I Love ya Honey, take care and as always "Howdy from Texas "!!
so nice to see Connie back in the studio and sounding as good as she ever has...... Amazing too to see the (now late) Pig Robbins at the piano. Also towards the end of the song a cameo of the late Weldon Myrick as well, her favorite Steel Guitarist of all time, he basically pioneered the "Connie Smith Sound" way back in the early days in 1964.
When your born with a great gifted voice as Connie . You never loose it .You've go-to use your gift or it gets rusty . Connie has sang all her life Marty has also sang and played guitar .all his life .Both born to perform .since they were kids .

Did you fans know . Marty Lost Connie hear a little while back . Now he's alone .She is his life's muse . Their beautiful music duettes will continue to make our hearts melt . Just wanted to let fans know . That didn't know !
@@vernonpennington8896 No, it's not right information. Connie, thank God, is still here with us. She was at the Opry this week and will be again next week. You seem to have some wrong informations...
Few if any vocalists would sound this good at her advanced age. [I was expecting an earlier version that Dottie West and Roy Drusky recorded, and perhaps Connie also.]
You got to be kidding me , this is a recent song ? it sounds simply fantastic !!!!!... and if Marty didn't marry Connie I would have 😁 shucks he's quick on the draw 😉

Oh man, that last piano riff at the end. Imagine that done throughout with a baritone guitar, old Glenn Campbell style...
