Anyone doing this, it’s different bulbs for the Limited trim and the SR5 trim. I found this out the hard way. For the SR5 trim climate control knobs you’re are going to need 3 bulbs, one for each knob. Part number 90010-09015. All other bulbs are as mentioned in the video.
@@yourmomsbf_ VERIFIED: Sport Edition is same as SR5. I have an '08 Sport, am currently doing this project. Found the Toyota official parts listings with illustrations. Two bulb sets were used - one set for the Limited and one set for the other two models.
So, not only did you and your videos convince me to pull the trigger and get my own 4th gen, but now your helping me with the exact problems I have in mine. What a time to be alive. Keep it up!
First time 4th gen owner and last night I noticed that a few were burnt out for me as well. The people who designed this thing need serious praise, it's meant to repair yourself and I love that. Very clear and helpful video keep it up!
This video is excellent. I just bought a 2006 Sport Edition and I would not have attempted to do this repair if I hadn't run across this video. Thank you so much. Cheers.
That little pocket under the hvac controls houses all the rewards or membership cards I’ve amassed. Whenever I get to a store or place I frequent, I grab the related card and continue with my day. Hated stuffing them in my wallet so this helped a lot. Thanks for the video by the way, you helped me tremendously.
My daughter bought LED lights on Amazon for her car. Mainly T3 size, but also some T4 and T5 in the Limited trim. Maybe $15 total to replace all of them. Your directions made it very easy to do, thank you.
Wow, I've been putting this off forever thinking it'd be a hassle to figure it out and an even bigger hassle to try to figure out all the park numbers. You made this all easy, you are the man!
These light bulbs have been out for a year or longer.... I have asked several repair shops to replace the bulbs... both sent me on wild goose chases. Ugh. Luckily I found this video and just did it myself, and I'm a girl!!! So easy following your step by step instructions. Thank you!
Thank you so much!!! That was maybe one of the easiest DIY car fixes I've ever done!!!! Just an FYI for everyone out there, the parts he lists aren't for all 4th gens. The 016 part didn't go with my 2005 base model SR5 4Runner. The other two for sure did. There were like 4 other bulbs in mine that don't appear to be in yours. If you have issues with the LC, this is the best dang video on TH-cam!!!
Thanks for the upload! I was under the impression I had to take apart that entire center dash piece on my 4Runner to get to the bulbs. I can do this in half an hour. My clock looks just like yours was. It is very annoying not being able to see the time
In that little dash compartment here in America we keep a Derringer pistol in there! The AR15 is in the cargo carrier on the roof! 😜 Good video. Very helpful. I sourced those bulbs with the numbers you said for just a few bucks cheaper on ebay. Thank you!
Been driving around with burnt out clock bulb exactly like what you had bc some lazy tech told me it would require dismantling the entire dash and was a giant PITA. Glad I did a 3 second YT search.
Love it! Thanks for the videos brotha, i just picked up an 03 4.7 sport edition 4runner and i love it, its been taken care of for 11years by the past owner and now its in my care. It has 273,000 miles and it runs strong. All the power outlets where not working and i just fixed that and now ill be driving just down the road to pick up these light bulbs to fix the clock! My friend works at the dealership as a lube tech and hes gonna get me a discount!
Hey! They say timing is everything. I just bought a pre-owned 2004 SR5, and it has the exact same issue as yours. Nice little project to undertake, now that you pointed the way to an easy repair. I put CDs or my cell in that little compartment. Thank you for the video.
I was in the same boat but I started thinking this is and 08 4 runner and they forgot to put a light in this area and the stumbled on this video! Though I don’t like that the lights in the front headliner don’t turn on when you open the door
Thanks! This is exactly what I needed to fix the bulbs in our 2004 4 runner. They've been burned out for years. Almost in the exact same locations are yours were. (right side of the clock out etc) I'm going to order the bulbs right now. subbed!
I keep my vehicle registration, small bottle of sunscreen, pocket knife and a pen in my tray. Great video by the way! I need to replace the bulb in my rear window defrost button on that unit.
Piece of cake...thanks for this vid. For some reason, my dealership couldn't find the right bulbs for this until I showed the photos I took from this vi, so this was super helpful. Thanks!
So I had one side of the screen out just like yours. Followed your video “almost” to a T. Wish I would’ve followed exactly. I bought just the one light, and now everything is back together and the opposite side is out. Back to the Yota parts counter tomorrow should’ve bought them all like you recommended. Keep up the great vids saved me sone loot. 👊🏼⚔️
Note: for the sr5 there are only 3 for the middle row. I went to the dealer 2x they ordered the wrong quantity of each bulb, so I took the unit off took it in and showed them there was only 3.
We all use the little glove box for holding 2 hand cannons down here in the USA. It’s fits two pistols perfectly, which works out great because we have two hands and drive no handed down here.
Thanks for this video, I feel like this is one repair I will be able to do myself now. In that cubby I keep a pen, pocket knife, hand sanitizer and registration. 😊

Another great video! Appreciate you posting this. What size tires/wheels are you running? Im getting TRD pros and am thinking of throwing on 27570R17s. I have a 2.5" lift in front and 1.8 in rear from the stock sagging suspension.
Perfect for what I needed thanks for this and the chuckle. You do have me wondering how your center console is so damn shiny, I don’t know why but i love it that way
Great video and it convinced me to finally fix the bulbs that have been out for years since I bought my 2003 4Runner in THAT YEAR!. The best purchase I've ever made. BTW, I missed the recall to get my dash replaced by the dealership...FREE (ouch). It's got cracks and is the only part of this awesome vehicle that shows its age. Does anyone have a solution for getting a new dash or just making it look better for a fair price? Any help is appreciated. Thanks a ton for this video!!
Awesome video. I have the same problem with one bulb. Will definitely replace it now. Incidentally, I use the compartment that you pulled out to put money. Easier when I'm at a food drive through than trying to pull my wallet out.
Thanks for the video! Have you ever exchanged the bulbs for the two ventilation mode buttons at the bottom end and maybe know the parts numbers, too? Best
I was wondering if anyone knows how to replace the lightbulbs for the cruise control? Or should I just buy new buttons. Any feedback would be great thank you. I just purchased my 2005 4RUNNER it has 133,000 miles on it. So these little quirks like lightbulbs don’t bother me, considering the hundreds of dollars I spent trying to keep my avalanche running.
