@12jojimbo Oh! What kind of jerk just dangles a rader decoy way off the side of the ship? That's so cheesy. Jokes aside, really funny that one of the few in-game examples of cheesy radar decoys I learn about in the video about cheesy radar decoy.
@@TheGuardianOfTheRoad Problem is a lot of late game missile designs forgo seekers, and guide them in with their targeting systems to concentrate damage. So, most players probably don't even notice them. Even I tend to use LUA missiles on cheaper craft. Drilling a hole into a ship with some Shaped charge head, thumpers is deadly early game as early anti-munitions can't handle the high HP.
@caesar_cider2777 check out his like "from the depths most powerful superweapon and it costs nothing" video or something like that, think it's his first ftd video
there was a similar thing for weapons in space engineers, you could just place decoy blocks in pillars pointing away from the ship and then spin it, this would cause all the guns to shoot where the decoy was going to be, but of course due to this changing all the time and that point never being where the ship was, you were immune to being shot. they changed how decoys worked due to this exploit. now a decoy emulates a different block like, engines or weapons so that a weapon set to prioritize a certain type of block will target that decoy as well as those blocks.
Heat decoys can do the same against infrared missiles, and both can be mounted on missiles themselves as we saw with that White Flayers craft. There are several counters against these, however, as well as counters against those counters.
3:12 Make it duck and swing like a pendulum maybe? or just "Swing it Right Round Baby Right Round" for aircraft? Also that stuck above the Baskie is a radar decoy, the ones I make for torps are (top to bottom) Harpoon, Sonar Decoy, Sonar Bouy, Sonar Decoy, Ballast, Sonar Decoy, Sonar Bouy, Sonar Decoy. I call them "Sushi Rolls".
1:18 i couldve sworn the mountainy area was farther to the east but i definitely recall accidentally ramming a plane into them Then again, years ago they completely changed the map (remember the small island near spawn that somehow every enemy would end up hiding behind?)
I have actually done this before. It doesnt need to be very big, and one of the easiest ways of doing relatively small is to do a spin block and A heat, A radar. On a big stick
There is an ACB that says to rotate the spin block to an angle when there is an object in front of it. So the right ACB detects the stick is in front of it, telling the spin block to send it to the left, and then when it gets there the left ACB detects that the stick is in front of it, telling the spin block to rotate back to the right. Then it just metronomes forever.
I need help with one of your mods 😭 in your haunting and ghosts mod, it says I need my moralist to perform an exorcism. However, I started the game with no ideoligion. Therefore I cannot have a moralist 😭
Imagine engaging a ship and it starts waving a giant stick in the air that all your missiles can't help but aim towards.
So a fly swatter with a flare on it?
Your... familiar.
3:20 It's a radar decoy! the tether keeps the decoy within range of the main ship, maximizing the lifetime utility of the decoy!

@@thathitmann8282 they are pretty common, most ss ships have them as well as a bunch of GT craft, pretty much mandatory for any of my craft over 100k
The interesting thing is some aircraft like the f35 and Eurofighter have towed decoy's so it's actually a real-world strategy
@@thathitmann8282its actually super common on late game boats,

Single pixel IR seeker, laser beam receiver, laser rider, remote guidence, LUA receiver and signal processor: allow us to introduce ourselves
@СашаВолков-ф5н Indeed, but shockingly few in-game designs use laser guidance even though it's my go-to.
@@thathitmann8282 True. Signal processors, however, are a staple. (Also, you might have reinvented the weel, becuause radar flares exist)
And radar distraction sticks
Afaik signal procs don't work on block decoys.

They cost resoueces. This doesn't.
How do you defend against something that knows where it is at all times?

I didn't know i needed this, thanks! I thought the flyswatter was the final evolution to missile defense.
I often have missile decoys disguised as a spinning radar on my battleships, works wonders.
ah of course you're the same guy who made the lobotomizer stick, this gonna be one of my new favorite channels

I propose that this system be named the Bullfighter.
Alternatively: the Low Five.

That last one sounds like a weaponcore feature. Also, for a similar reason, spinning while constantly accelerating upwards still works

I could've sworn the best anything defense system is the ground with its hundreds of billions to zero k/d ratio
I don't even play From The Depths, but I appreciate the morrowing music.
@izperehoda I've had a few comments about my using Skyrim music, but I believe you are the first to catch the Morrowind OST :)

Watching this channel feels like some dude in an RV along the Nevada highway trying to sell you his homemade "microwave".
What about if you have two decoys with a gap between, and you just switch between them when the missile gets close?
Man just a week ago i was trying to build a system to counter the missle ships around 350k cost and this is such an excellent solution lol
I almost thought you discovered my secrete of using a long pole of applique armor on 2d turret to joust missiles.
I’m guessing the floating missile on a wire was relaying information to the craft. You can make missiles give sensor data

The snail eye decoy. I like it😊
The snailer anti missile system...
Electing a pope is just a very ammo expensive way to do dodge missiles.
