Hi there, sorry for the incoming wall of text. Such a thing is entirely possible within a few limitations. Mostly, you'd need to actualy get a larger missile-like vehicle into space which would require awkward and/or expensive thrusters. Because in-game vehicle docks fail past 100 M/S, your actual high flight would have to be rather slow, unless you made the larger missile construct it's smaller missiles when approaching the target (which would be more expensive and would leave it vulnerable while building). Otherwise, yeah. It would work - you could use the Breadboards to tell the missile to fly in space until it was within a certain distance to the enemy, then switch over to a "point at target" system for the descent. That should, in theory, work at any angle so top attack would be viable and pretty hard to defend against although it might miss more agile enemies. As for the dud warheads, just using some metal armour around a "missile" with a ram on the front would work. Most AIs prefer closer and more heavily-armed targets, so if your dud was faster then it might soak up some extra attention from the actual payload missiles. I can visualise the missile using several "stages" spanning from it's launch through to impact: - Stage 1: Main missile ascends to space, aiming to level out at around 1,500m (Skip this stage if you're lauching the missile from space, of course) - Stage 2: Flight at 95 M/S until within 2km from the target (5 M/S is shaved off to account for turning) - Stage 3: Submissiles detach, with the faster duds detaching first or from in front of the actual warheads - Stage 4: All missiles accelerate to their top speeds on short delays to stagger their impacts, switching AI to "point at target" - Stage 5: Missiles impact in this order: Duds, Submissiles, Main missile All of this is entirely possible within the systems I'm familiar with, and I'm a below average player.

Honsetly, I really respect that you dont tell us everything that happens in your life. Keeping personal stuff away from the content seems to be the best way for yters to keep their sanity :/
just a tip, Mimics contain some meshes that placeable blocks don't have. So in some cases the mesh you need isn't actually on a block but the mimics got it
A thought - Add a battery or 2 and a laser or something to the front, as well as a delay in detonation (or maybe velocity-based detonation) so it can lodge itself into the bugger some more before *nuke*
as funny a failure the first attempt to make it ram was, just slapping a turret on it and having it pepper the target while flying fast circles around it would look pretty rad.
Have you considered adding a Ram to the front? With the speed this thing moves at you might squeeze a fair bit of extra damage into it, maybe even penetrate deeper into craft to do more overall damage.
Nukes are hella underpowerd. They should cost a shit ton more and maybe add a new mechanic where the enimies get harder if you use them, but they should be able to wipe out a entire craft.
Lathrix: That’s Not Bad For A Quick Bit Of Work.. Lathrix a few minutes earlier in the video: I’ve now spent 20 minutes JUST looking at many different blocks. Me: You call that a Quick Bit of work lol
As I recall the ammo parts of both APS and Cram cannon explode, could you load up a bunch of those into a ram craft to do serious damage? Also, using rams to armor the nuke to punch deeper into the target before exploding?
Just an idea (and for the record I don't know what types of controls and such there are and how exactly they work) but what if you were to put a ram onto the front of the missile and put the nuke a few blocks behind, then have a controller that tells "after x amount of seconds after impact, detonate nuke". To try and make a sort of "armour piercing nuclear missile" because from what I've seen the nuke does a lot of damage against medium sized craft and does mainly external damage. This way the missile digs in and then blows up to do more damage to both the inside and outside. Possibly making it able to shred through heavy armour targets.
@@L963-h9r oh god, so if you had a layer of armour that is all that is keeping your ship from getting absolutely ruined, if that gets poked by a random pipe jutting out from the nuke..................................
Problem with that is that rams negate impact damage like rubber if they're the point of contact, so a "perfect" hit could leave the nuke rubbing up against the target. This could then be solved by a detonator ACB, but that's a bit less satisfying than seeing an immediate explosion. Using a heavy armor cap can serve the same purpose.
@@JabberwockOclock Oh no, I'd argue the delayed explosions are far more satisfying. Just have it punch into the enemy, wait a beat, then BOOM. Brings a smile to my face just thinking about it.

The only time I tried my hand at creating a half-decent Battleship in FtD it ended up looking like it was built by an inept, blind and drunk Ork with a personality disorder. But at least that Ork would have gotten that thing to work somehow. That Lump of Blocks I created earned the Name "Battleship" only because it was a true battle to make it. Love the Series, Lathrix! Can't wait to find out how the Deepwater Guard will "appreciate" this new toy of yours! >:)
The damage on those nukes seems kind-of disappointing, compared to some of your cannons and the cost of firing one. Could you maybe add some rams to the front to try and get the nuke a bit deeper into the target before it goes off? Also, on the topic of potentially cheesy, but also potentially interesting, have you considered using graviton rams to launch spawned (so you have a cannon with graviton rams pointing at the back of an object you want to launch at your enemy, rather than shooting them with the cannon directly)? It could allow for some rather large and creative projectiles or even an initial launch system for ICBMs that actually go to space without wasting a bunch of fuel to get there.
Can you imagine how terrifying it would be to engage in vehicle warfare against this man? He appears in the middle of nowhere, starts building incredibly effective craft, destroys all of the other factions easily and then starts deploying ICBMs without any remorse or offering any treaties or terms of surrender. You can use sphere's, they are in the UI and just stretch it out to make a nose cone.
Hey lathrix! it occurs to me that this missile could be a great testbed for the drills! You Know what Khorne demands of you!
I'd love to build one of these but with a spinblock drillbit at the end so it burrows into the enemy first
2 variants: a small, fast, lightly armoured one for fast agile targets not requiring the usage of a heavy payload. And a larger variant with multiple warheads for larger targets.
Honsetly, I really respect that you dont tell us everything that happens in your life. Keeping personal stuff away from the content seems to be the best way for yters to keep their sanity :/
just a tip, Mimics contain some meshes that placeable blocks don't have. So in some cases the mesh you need isn't actually on a block but the mimics got it
Lathrix + nukes = joy.
I can say your intro beat to beat now I love that I've watched this series for so long!
"I'm not that artistically creative" Lath says as I, an artist, actively take inspiration from his builds for my brutalist sci-fi setting. ^A^;
A thought -
Add a battery or 2 and a laser or something to the front, as well as a delay in detonation (or maybe velocity-based detonation) so it can lodge itself into the bugger some more before *nuke*
These videos always surprise me, like how big can Lathrix go? And the answer is Always "BIGGER!"
Launch it from the satellite XD
Keep being Awesome Lathrix... it is the only effective (that I have found) way to fight back the world suck...
Glad to hear that things are in a better space for you in real life~
nuclear torpedos are even funnier since them bypass AA
Hey lathrix
Can you do the land campaign again it was fun to watch and I think it would be fun to watch with new designs and mechanics
Lathrix: "I have made and ICBM to nuke my enemies!"
World governments: *sips middle-eastern oil* "Interesting."
as funny a failure the first attempt to make it ram was, just slapping a turret on it and having it pepper the target while flying fast circles around it would look pretty rad.
Always happy to see a Lathland video!
7:41 Remember that under-water explosions are more powerful ...
Also remember you might want some aerodynamic noses for reasons of speed.
As far as I'm aware that extra damage is not applied to nukes - only to HE Cram/Advanced cannons and HE missile warheads - Could be wrong though!
With the intro of huge missiles, I was under the impression that suicide craft were on the out.
I know the control surfaces at the front help a lot, but consider putting a few rams there to make it (hopefully) penetrate a bit and then explode
Your back! looks very nice as well!
How about putting a spike on the front and letting it Penetratie the armor and then explode
Yes, with ram blocks
@@jadedandbitter "I thought you said it worked?!"
"It does"
"Then where's the explosion-"
Ahh, yes. The X-1 'Bonfire'. Very popular on peace celebrations. The kids love it. ;)
Whenever you just want a bigger boom and you're not satisfied with the in-game missiles lmao
Mmm, Yes. Lathrix and Tactical Nukes. Lovely! Who signed off on this again? What? Khorne? Well who would have guessed!
And the Gall of that Chap to call himself "not so artistically inclined". Yes. Of course. May I point to the several Seasons of FtD Content on this Channel proving otherwise?
The only time I tried my hand at creating a half-decent Battleship in FtD it ended up looking like it was built by an inept, blind and drunk Ork with a personality disorder.
But at least that Ork would have gotten that thing to work somehow. That Lump of Blocks I created earned the Name "Battleship" only because it was a true battle to make it.
Love the Series, Lathrix! Can't wait to find out how the Deepwater Guard will "appreciate" this new toy of yours! >:)
Nice! Good guys use 'noooks'! I'd love to see some of your designs on the workshop!
7:37 - Had FtD had flooding physics, that woulda been the perfect hit
I can already tell this will be good
It needs to be pointy. This...This will put a smile on the faces of the enemy.
The fact that the nuke had the Khorne symbol on the map makes it even better.
Would be awesome if this could fly even faster to decrease the time any target has to react
