To be fair. This saddle is advised for a riding position of 60°. So it is not surprising that is causes issues if you use it in aggressive riding positions at 45° or below. Thanks for the review though. Really helped me out. Cheers!
The texture is definitely not abrasive, the cotton version was, i damaged my trousers on it and then put a plastic bag over to fix it, but the new one with the nylon cover it is very smooth. I like the carved version, I'm never going back to non carved version
So before it was produced with the cotton surface while now they are produced in nylon? thank you very much for this info because I too was afraid of ruining my cycling shorts by reading the various comments. I read that you prefer the carver version I also wanted to ask you what's your weight because Brooks told me that the carved is recommended (it is not reported as a characteristic but from their experience) up to 80kg because if cyclists are very heavy over time it could become too soft and therefore they recommend the uncarved
@@DavisMedoriPhotography I am 64Kg and i want the saddle to be softer than it is now, they should really make diferent versions for different weights. About cotton vs nylon i don't know, probably you can find both versions, didn't look into their products in a long time. Nylon is nice also because it doesn't change colour and survives the rain. Btw, you'll need to protect the seat tube, i put some tape so the water doesn't go in.
@@cristibaluta Thank so much for the info! 😉 I also believe that they should produce several, each designed for a weight range (then clearly everyone also chooses according to their own tastes)
Thank you for the comparison! I got a new bike with a more aggressive position and need a new saddle for it. I thought about trying the brooks, but wasn't sure which one. Glad to know I probably need to try the version with the pressure release gab.
Hey great video! I wanted to add a little context to what you said. The C17 is definitely more "touring" for an upright position. If you have a more aggressive riding position, race or what have you the C15 is the saddle you'd want to go for. Cheers!
Hey Jason, I'm considering to get a new saddle for my bike (Gravel, but I use it for touring). I never had brooks saddle myself, so I'm BTW the B17 and C17 carved. What's your advise?
@@heliodacosta2658 if you're doing touring, long rides in the saddle I think the B17 leather is amazing. I own one on my other bike and you can ride on it all day it's so comfortable. The only thing to consider with leather is it's not the best seat if you're going to be getting it wet in rain and other elements. Cheers!
Hello! Thanks for the review. I wanted to ask you about the size. I have always used a saddle measuring 140 to 143 approx.. because in general they come standard with that measure.. In the case of this Brooks model, it has 3 measures, but I read that it is still somewhat narrow, have you noticed that difference? or is it the same as other seats? Greetings from Chile!
How much do you weigh btw? Curious as I'd read in some other forums/comments that for someone around 70kg, the uncarved one didn't bend much at all and as a result, the carved version might be more comfortable. Helpful videos though!
Couldn't say for sure. What I do know is as it has aged the seat has begun to feel more rough. Can't say it's been an issue though. Probably not too good for shorts

Not sure I've seen that! I'm touring on the non cut now. Love it
For Touring , the carved out? Thanks

Yes probably. I don't find this to be a great saddle for an aggressive position

I'd like to try it

@@Jason-ct9rv oh man I just saw it now. Thanks very much for your advice cheers
I’ve just purchased the cut out version it’s so hard,I read they’re so comfortable
I found it to be very soft, in the sense that it flexes so much
Finding the right saddle, position, reach etc etc I believe is all down to trial & error and putting in some decent kms.
Yeah I think so. I think trying different bikes is great for it too
Thanks for the review. I have the standard C17 on my Trek and couldn't understand why I kept slipping forward.
Yeah I get it

It's 164mm wide. I think they do a narrower version. For what it's worth I love this saddle and I also ride a 143mm specialized toupe.

Around 85. Yeah I suppose the bigger the butt the worse it would be!
looking forward to your US trip mate
Me too.
Hope you share more COOL VIDEOS MAN!
That's the plan
how about durability? carved or non carved.
