Then you haven't seen truly "arcade" games. Take Initial D or Wangan Midnight for example where you don't even need to slow down much to enter corners. In contrast, here, when he drives the RX7 you can clearly see braking is a need to get past corners well. There is also a semblance of a racing line that should be followed to maximise speed, rather than simply drifting through corners at unnecessarily wide angles.

I played the Arcade version of the Battle Gear 3 when I was a kid. I came back to that arcade place after over a decade since I went there and the Battle Gear 3 Arcade was still there. I quite enjoyed playing on the touge stages.

There's something about the very realistic gauge movement in the game, especially for cockpit view, that almost every other racing game doesn't seem to simulate properly but this one does.
I was not aware of this game but it fits right in line with the other JDM greats! The Taito logo at the beginning reminded me of a game called Ray Tracers. That was the first racing game I ever played in my life i think. They made that game too. They did a decent job with the engine sounds in this game as well

for me the gameplay kinda drifting feel even for those ff, awd cars. But, the engine sound really very close to the real car. The subaru boxer and rotary sound very accurate.
Hi, i wonder if you can use the AE86 mecha tuned's cockpit view in your pcsx2? the graphics broken on mine. It's pretty much pitch black if I drive the car. The view strangely works on VU0 interpreter mode, which is slow af.

Whoever created this game's CG intro must've worked on Kaido Battle's intro movies as well, the animation styles are almost identical.

The soundtrack in this game is banger definitely rival to Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift/Kaido Battle with similiar touge battle vibes

Battle Gear 2 did receive a PAL release but they changed the name to "Tokyo Road Race".

Go to PCSX2 Config - Emulation Settings - VUs tab, and set Clamping Mode to "Extra + Preserve sign" that should fix it.
