Back then lots of videogames, or like most all of videogames did that as well, until then they quickly go with the realism way which made it look soulless and lifeless
Here, alongside its arcade counterpart, were the origins of Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune. The sound effects in particular - the Devil Z's L28 custom engine roar, the menus, the countdown... Much of the sound design would reappear in Maximum Tune, as would certain elements of this game's structure, like the mid-race banter and even the ranking system for outrunning opponents being present in 10 Outrun Mode.
@@minignoux4566 Yes he did. The thing is that I found out after watching the ending to this game so I thought it was a different composer 4 months ago. My bad
FYI, before people say Wangan Midnight Copied the Tokyo Xtreme Racer Series. It didn’t because the Wangan Midnight Manga came out in the early 90s, and the Tokyo Xtreme Racer developers probably looked at this Manga and decided to make a Game for the U.S and European viewers. And in the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series, they didn’t put in the storyline because they thought that the U.S and European viewers wouldn’t want to play a game with a storyline, but to only free roam and race computer players. And yes both games were both made by Genki, and people will say “this is a shitty version of Tokyo Xtreme Racer” but in reality, the Tokyo game just made their own version based of the storyline of Wangan Midnight.
