i like how the busses and the traffic in general are going 200 km/h as well :D
And you can slipstream behind them
That's nothing, watch the birds at 3:30 flying in circles around the car at 300km/h
living life in the fast lane!!
And they use signals
You'd think Buses and Caravans can't take corners at over 200km/h without wiping out.
But Video Game logic dictates otherwise xD
Somehow, this game captured the spirit of the original Out Run.
Which is to say a LOT.
Too bad this one is only Ferrari, the early one has different sets of car to choose from

This game is SEGA blue sky gaming at it's finest. Love the goofy ending. Is our protagonist insane?
I’m pretty sure the protagonist is just tripping balls in a hospital somewhere the entire time.
I miss playing this in the arcade, and you drove that F40 with style. One of my favorite cars in the game and also my go-to vehicle in every stages ☺️

Peregrine falcons can do faster than that. And depending on the height of the birds this perspective maybe right like you don't see the clouds moving or the sun moving in the sky when even you're going 300mph.
The BEST driving game. Definitely top in it’s series! Just completed the continuous 15 course in the 288 GTO in MT yesterday. I will play this game until I die!
The game is still a stunner today. I was addicted playing the whole 15 courses back in the day and I wish they Sega make a sequel in the future.
this is just so quintessentially Sega, the blue skies, theFerraris, hot blondes and pop Rock. American dream in videogame format. Very nostalgic.

Man I had the original OR2 on the XBOX and C2C for the PC. I wish Sega brought this back for one more game. It'll be awesome!

So Outrun 2006 was basically an enhanced port of Outrun 2 SP PS2 with a campaign while keeping this game's arcade mode as a bonus feature.
Actually Outrun 2006 C2C and Outrun 2 SP are the same game
@@AdamTheMan1993 Not exactly. SP has end of race animations and the course map is different. A few other differences as well, menu design etc. SP is closer to the arcade version.

It has been released on PC too [OUTRUN 2006 Coast 2 Coast] and I can confirm it looks even better. Emulated game looks ok but it has some alpha bugs and renders strange grey line 3m ahead of the car. Oh man This game is superb - one of my OG Xbox favourites.

@@TheHeadbite you can't upscale the PC version, likewise you can't apply the plethora of modern post effects that those emulators can.

If it is, they have to renew the license. Well, we have the PS3 version of it but it's not working anymore.
Have you tried the PC version? There's a mod that enables very high resolution textures.

I wish so much I could get PCSX2 to work on Mac. There is no DX11 support from my understanding why I can't get games like GT4 and Outrun to work. Every other emulator I run works amazing. Dolphin, Open Emu, REDREAM etc.
This is like some kind of Ridge Racer with a girlfriend on your side and Ferraris
You know, outside of some weak texturing, which is a PS2 thing, this doesn't look too far off of the PC version, nice and smooth too.

Well... My fav is Coast 2 Coast mode, Race the rivals....
It is just like a Sega slower version of F-Zero GX. But F means Ferrari instead of Formula.

none of them existed in 2003 but the original fxx that was based on the enzo is from 2005 and they might have considered putting it in the 2006 edition, but who knows

this "ps2 sp" version came out in 2007 as a japan only ps2 exclusive. it's based on 06 but it adds the stage ending animations back from the arcade versions (though they're kind of bugged), and some new remixes of splash wave, passing breeze and rush a difficulty by jun senoue (sonic adventure 2 and heroes composer.) the title screen is also replaced with a low-quality recording of the arcade SP title screen.
@@AuntieAliasing There's also apparently force feedback wheel support added in SP. This is why I ended up buying the PC version years ago, so I could use my wheel with it.

At least the PS2 and PSP version scan still be bought relatively cheaply.
The Xbox version costs a small fortune and the PC version is rarer than hens teeth.
Outrun 2 for the Xbox is also an option, it has less content but is still worth it imo.
