I can't help but feel they were heavily influenced by Ridge Racer Type 4 when they made this game. The way the cars drift around those corners, the fixed rear bumper camera, hell even the intro's song sounds almost like a remix of "On Your Way" from R4.
Initial D has no race tracks, doesn't do any racing in the daylight, and doesn't have these same model cars. Honestly it kooks like an earlier Ridge Racer but with licensed cars and a anime like story potentially like Initial D, also there's mo mention of any drift teams like The Akina Speed Stars, Red Sun, Night Kids, or Impact Blue, I'd actually like to play this... If I had an emulator and a working PS2.
OK this game is complete trash that story mode take 1 hours until actually play and drive the car. And you see those 2 tracks in the video? You can't drive there in story mode for some reason.
Also, you see those interesting characters in opening? You won't see most of them in 2nd half of the story. It is complete mess. It has a potential that is sad.

Facts: Zero4 Champ Series supposed to be a Drag Racing Game in older series, but somehow it changed into Ridge Racer-aslike drifting game in this game

Another one of hidden Japanese domestic racing games! That suzuka circuit looks like someone randomly ported from early 1990s arcade though..
