    Hi Sam! You have the most thorough, easy to understand tutorials out there! On other channels the host goes way too fast and assumes too much technical experience when so many of us (uhh... "classic") teachers are new to it! And with my subject (culinary arts) I have never really needed to use too much technology. Talking about cooking is like dancing about architecture. But anyway, I made my first EdPuzzle based on my own TH-cam demonstration video and it was awesome! Now I'm confident about EdPuzzle and will be using it again and again, and you get a lot of the credit, so thanks!

    Nice upgrade or replacement for lesson that include watching a video and then Q&A. Totally supports younger or easily distracted students by reducing the number of clicks to complete the task and gives immediate feedback.

    Great video thank you for the excellent explanation of how Edpuzzle works. I have used Edpuzzle a lot in the last few years. My favorite thing about it is that it integrates nicely into Canvas LMS, and I have data on the questions answered by students and how much of the video students watched. If kids leave the video and open another window, the video will stop. The type of questions you can write is so easy to use. I usually use multiple-choice questions so kids will get immediate feedback. What a great tool! I'm a huge fan of Edpuzzle.

      Seriously, not even exaggerating a little bit. After only 10 days back in school, they expect us to know this and all the other Tech tricks to make digital teaching engaging and entertaining... Teachers have gone from teaching to becoming data analysts, to entertainers, and now we are expected to be Tech Intel... I actually got fussed at for not being able to assist a student who was on a desktop and couldn't hear me... Did I train in school for that? I don't think so lol and believe me if I could have helped her I would have because my heart is to help these children, and I legitimately got called on the carpet for not being able to fix it for her. I have subscribed and have learned more from your videos in one week than I learned in 24+ (I stopped counting) professional development classes this summer! I cannot, cannot thank you enough. You are a blessing! Thank you so much for these easy to understand and Implement lessons, you're making me look like a rockstar! :-)

    Hello again, I have been looking for something like this for years so thank you for the clear and succinct video. How did I get to this video? Simple, I subscribed and received an excellent, well written and informative e mail. At this critical moment in our careers we can't afford to waste time trawling TH-cam for something that might fit or work with our students on-line so get in on the ground floor and show everyone you have hit the ground running.

Hearing you talk about why and how to use Ed Puzzle, as well as addressing what students see as users is very helpful information. On top of that you provide the text of your talk and hyperlinks from your web site. What a amazing contributor to the education community! You should get paid big bucks by school districts for this service.

I am currently not using Google classroom (the school has another platform). How do I get the videos made to that platform? Which tool did you use to make the starter kit video? I would really appreciate some feedback. Thank you so much Sam for all of your info. The starter kit was a great eye opener for me. Question. The last tip you showed using already generated content from other teachers. When you go to edit them, is Ed Puzzle making a copy for your own library or are you editing the authors' original?

      Sure, you can definitely use all the tools with other LMSs. All Google Classroom can do is integrate student rosters, so it's not even a true integration. If all else fails, you can always just hyperlink out to assignments you create in EdPuzzle, Jamboard, et al.

    Hi! I am a recent subscriber, and I’ve been really enjoying your videos. You give great ideas on what to do during this chaotic time. I have one question. After creating a video on the site, is it possible for students to use it completely independently from the EdPuzzle site? More specifically, could I upload a completed Edpuzzle to dropbox, then delete the video from the website, and still have students be able to use it with all its intended functionality? Sorry for the long winded question.

      Thanks for your support! As far as I know (and from what I can tell from poking around a bit), it's not possible to download the video and retain its functionality since those are embedded Edpuzzle functions. If I'm wrong and someone else knows different, please chime in!

      @@NewEdTechClassroom Hello again, Sam. Thank you kindly for answering my question. I suspected that would likely be the case (I couldn't imagine how it would work without being on the site!), but was just hoping. This looks like a great tool, so I will keep it in mind for future lessons. (By the way, I've recommended your channel to my colleagues. I hope they subscribe, too!)

    How do we share it with students who aren't in Google classroom ,Without them having to have uploaded the app yet still can see their progress and grade them?
    P.S all your tutorials have been of great help to me .

      Sure, you can still create classes independent of Google Classroom. I'm sharing the timestamp from my video where I show where you can do that: th-cam.com/video/8I0fV0djfJA/w-d-xo.html

    Hi Sam, thank you SO much for this tutorial, I really liked this program. I remember you also showcased another platform for video interactive assignments, would you mind sharing via the comments what the name of that other platform was? I would like to compare both before engaging my students during class. Thanks much!

    Great Tutorial! One quick question: if I use public link" to share the assignment, can I still track the students' progress?

    • @NewEdTechClassroom
      @NewEdTechClassroom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! No, you'll have to share it as an assignment that requires students to sign in if you want to track progress.

    Love this tool! Do you know how or if it would work with Canvas? We've migrated to Canvas this year. Or, will you be making any videos on using some of these awesome tools with Canvas?

    • @NewEdTechClassroom
      @NewEdTechClassroom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lori,
      Canvas has lots of built-in integrations with programs, which just essentially means that students won't have to leave the Canvas interface in order to access other programs. That being said, even if a specific program doesn't directly integrate with Canvas (EdPuzzle does, as long as your admin has enabled the app), you can always hyperlink out to it, it just won't sync as easily to your grade book, if that makes sense.
      Check out this article about how to integrate EdPuzzle w/ Canvas: support.edpuzzle.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025042091-Using-Edpuzzle-With-Canvas
      Hoping to make some videos about Canvas at some point this semester! It's on the list!

    Thanks for this! Question: Can you combine multiple TH-cam videos? Like if I want to create a compilation?

    • @NewEdTechClassroom
      @NewEdTechClassroom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Daniel, I'm glad it was helpful! I'm not aware of any ability to combine videos. You'd have to do that outside of Edpuzzle and then upload the video that you made.

      Yes, as Amy said, you just need to get the shareable link and then copy and paste it into your LMS. Best of luck this school year!

    What is the difference between the public and private setting on your content. Will students in your classes be able to see the video assignments if they are private?

    • @NewEdTechClassroom
      @NewEdTechClassroom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s whether or not other teachers can see your content and reuse the questions you came up with. Students can see it regardless!

    Love your videos! I'm wondering if Edpuzzle automatically shows up as a grade in your google classroom grade book? I love this technology but I think I'd like to use the question feature as an ungraded formative assessment most of the time. Any tips on that?

    • @NewEdTechClassroom
      @NewEdTechClassroom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sara, thanks so much! No, it won't automatically show up in GC. I also just use it as an ungraded formative assessment. No problems there! You can still login to EdPuzzle just to see whether or not they completed the work.

    Hi, I like the way you explained EdPuzzle. Our school hasn't signed up for this easy to use website. My question is, when you upload or put a link from youtube, don't students be tempted to go directly to the channel by clicking on the youtube logo? Is there any way you can control or limit that? Thanks

    • @NewEdTechClassroom
      @NewEdTechClassroom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, If you create the assignment through EdPuzzle, it doesn't take them to TH-cam, just to the EdPuzzle portal where they watch the video and answer the questions. It would be up to the school admins to determine whether or not students had open access to TH-cam if they clicked on the logo.

    Edpuzzle has changed a lot. How can I use it with canvas using the free version of edpuzzle?

    • @NewEdTechClassroom

      You should be able to directly integrate the two, but if you’re having trouble, you can always just share the link to the Edpuzzle assignment in Canvas
