I conceptualize the body as the vehicle for the soul, which itself, is who I 'am.' I also contend that the body I incarnated into, is determined/approved by our Creator/Lord. So coming as a man, is it! I must live this body out because this is how the Lord made me. We are soul, Spirit, mind/awareness, brain and body. TY Fr. Mike for your vocation and work. Thanks for the video this is great that we talk about it. I am curious though how to Catholics reconcile this with Clitoral stimulation. An organ on females with the sole purpose of stimulation. This is not directly linked to the procreative act is it? As a Catholic I do fear we are failing people still as a whole in discussing sexuality. I understand the abstaining, no porn and love between a husband and wife but strongly think we need to be more specific on certain situations. If there is any understanding of the female experience here could someone please elaborate. Why would females be given this anatomy if not for pleasure in a healthy/loving marriage. I have read very conflicting info on this topic. Working my way through theology of the body and it is good for broad topics but haven't heard this touch in yet. The Catholic Church has had 2000 years to clarify some of these items and I have gotten very mixed messages. Just a frustration. I don't have a doubt the church is the one true church.

Here buddy. Pleasure is not bad, the clitoris is for the arousal and prepares for the lubrication. However ehat is done is different if it's just for pleasure, pleasure being the ulrimate goal, then it's wrong, because it separates it for the purpose of the unity between husband and wife, which can be masturbation, or just arriving at a climax with just the clitoris. However pleasure ordered towards unity and procreation isn't wrong, the example of how this happens, is if it helps the lubrication and the bonding of the wife woth the husband, clitoris stimulation orally isn't bad if it is just a transition for the penetration with the penis, and the final climax is between both ending in a scenario where there could be children because the climax happened with both being able to procreate. In that case clitoris estimulation isn't wrong.
But if it's masturbation, either by the wife alone or the husband, it's bad, because the end goal is pleasure and it doesn't end in the penetration, so that they end with an openess to procreation.

If in eternity, we will have the body of a man or woman that we were born with, that means that all the cosmetic changes that these people impose on themselves to look like the other sex will not be retain in eternity, but the original state of the body will prevail. On the other hand, I also believe that the person who was born with a defective body will not retain the defects in eternity. I know it is not the same thing but I would not be able to articulate it. If I tell someone that their child will keep their original sex in eternity and she answers: do you mean that I will keep my handicap as well? I would not be able to answer.

Somebody's sex is a part of human nature. A physical deformity is not inherent to human nature, which is how we know it's a deformity. In heaven, everyone will have perfected human nature at the resurrection, and therefore no more deformities.

@@analuciafranco4975 It is correct, except that the transgender person considers her body to be wrong, they won't see that difference; in both cases it is the body that God gave them. Where is the intrinsic difference?

Hmm, so the argument is its wrong to use something if that use violets any of its natures. So when I have a thing who's nature is multifunctional, its a violation of nature ("natural law?") to use that thing for any way that violates any of its natures? This doesn't make sense to me. If applied to everything (not just sex) it becomes clearly a bogus argument. Just consider your chair example, but consider a wooden chair, you can use it as a chair, or you burn it in a wood stove for heat. Maybe consider a multi-tool, knife, plier, screwdriver, file thing, If you only ever use it as a knife are you violating its nature?
I would go so far to say that any way you can use something is by definition part of its nature, otherwise you simply could not use it in whatever way you are using it.

Is it possible to teach using knowledge & facts ? If you are gay or transgender or know someone who is, this is important information! It has been determined that sexual orientation is determined in the womb during fetal development. Various hormones such as testosterone are introduced at specific times & amounts which determine physical, biological & psychologic features of the fetus It is, therefore, not a choice by the fetus or mother & consequently not a sin & not immoral. It is a natural path of life’s evolution & found commonplace in nature. Extensive medical research clearly explains this process. Those who believe it is an abomination do so based not on facts but on religious authority. I totally accept that this is their right to believe this and I understand. It must be made clear however, it is based on religion not science. If you are truly interested in the truth based on knowledge, facts & research, the book Gay, Straight & the Reason Why by Dr. Simon Levay explains this with numerous research articles. If you want to understand the truth & have respect for others & yourself, this book will help. It also has, unlike the bible written over 2000 years ago by men that had, unfortunately, no understanding of science, an extensive bibliography. I strongly recommend the book if you want solid factual understanding. If you chose to respond to me, please read this book &/or the numerous articles referred to in the reference section beforehand. I do not want to waste your or my time if your claim to understanding is based on religion. The public must be exposed to facts & knowledge. It is an obligation for those who know the truth & defend it. Don’t let the religious pull you down to their level of ignorance. Peace

The contemporary Catholic Church understands that sexual orientation is not chosen and is not in itself sinful. It's the actions that are problematic. I'm a single woman in midlife and I find it a steep challenge to practice chastity (especially since for a long time I did not). But I don't think that means I'm allowed to be sexually active outside of marriage. We all bear a cross.

Your sins ripple out and so do your virtues. 3. If you are Catholic and you receive the Eucharist in a state of mortal sin, you pronounce judgment upon yourself (this is Biblical). 4. We all sin.
