    Hi thank you for filming it in real time, it gave me a better grasp of how you create the ripples! Quick question - If I want to create depth and multiple layers, how would you recommend sealing each layer? In other words, I'm not sure how to create a barrier between one layer and a layer on top of it so that the next layer is not affecting the lower one. Perhaps resin can be used as a barrier?

    • @Coyasauce
      @Coyasauce  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, yes resin is exactly what I would use! Sometimes resin can reactivate the alcohol inks though, so you should also seal the inks before adding resin. I have a blog on my site that includes a section on how to seal your inks :)

    You make it look so easy! Is there anything else that I can use other than yupo paper to practice on?

    • @Coyasauce
      @Coyasauce  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Yes, you can use pretty much any non porous surface so for example a white tile would work and can be wiped clean and used again and again. :)

    • @Coyasauce
      @Coyasauce  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      70% has a higher water content so it doesn't create such nice effects, so I only recommend 99%!

    This is so good thank you! I have a question, I have the pinata metallic gold, I am brand new to alcohol ink and got it in a kit with some yupo paper, a bottle of red, blue and yellow ink and a bottle of alcohol. I noticed that anytime I dropped gold ink, it would sink under the alcohol and ink and sit on the paper, even start soaking into the paper, and it was very stubborn and wouldn't move. I'm wondering if maybe it was old? Or I'm doing something wrong?

    • @Coyasauce
      @Coyasauce  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm which brand of Yupo paper are you using? It should be waterproof so the ink should definitely not sink into the paper! If the gold sinks to the bottom of the isopropyl that is normal and that's what this technique tries to deal with 🙂 by putting ink on top of the gold it can push it to the surface again! Also make sure to shake it really well ☺️

    Thank you - that was amazing. I am a newbie and ots not going too well with my golds etc - thay come out in blobs not a line. I am also waiting on another heat source to arrive - have been using a straw and the little blow ball. I have yuppa paper but not all inks are perhsps good quality ( I inherited some, mamy of which are dried out - but could perpahs be brought back to life with alchohol in their containers)?
    Also my alchohol is not isyprophl, its something else - will try to get some 99% today.
    I am so appreciative that you did that tutorial so slowly, that it was easily understood, also your voice is fantastic!
    See you later when I have my isyprophl afterwards. I am so looking forward to it - I thought I was crazy - all these tutortials, which look so easy and mine just dont look anything like them. You showed it beautifully, exactly hiw it should be - I thank you so much!

    Do you have any tips to photograph gold inks?

    • @Coyasauce
      @Coyasauce  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! Take photos when it's the evening - light will be coming through at an angle, instead of directly above, and this will make the gold shine, especially if you take your photo from a somewhat low angle too. And when the lighting is just starting to get a bit darker, it can make the gold seem extra bright and make it pop out more 😊

      I hope one day to be successful in my alcohol ink experimentations. Videos like yours help a lot. Even if for now I put myself on pause with them and with all my other artistic projects in drawing and painting since I fail with them all... in these troubled times of covid pandemic. All I can do well is making bookmarks since they are small pieces of work and less complicated to do. I will also try to paint on candle containers (not sure it is the exact english word). I discovered this on TH-cam 2 or 3 days ago as it looks fun to do. One day, when the energy is back I will try again bigger pieces of alcohol ink art and then will use this tutorial to its full potential. I saw your work on Instagram and I love it.
