This is so pretty. I haven't done alcohol inks in a while because I got too frustrated. I was having a lot of trouble with my paper warping, but now I think it was the heat instead of the inks. And I just couldn't get that nice soft ethereal look on the edges. I'm going to watch some more of your videos and give it another try. 😊
Gabrielle, I like the way you're passion comes through in your techniques. As a cancer survivor with resulting heart issues, I can relate to your passion for life. It comes through in your art. You're truly wonderful.
Thanks so much Nancy for your heartfelt comment. I'm so glad to hear another person has survived this horrible disease. I really appreciate your taking the time to comment ❤️
Ohhh... beautiful Gabi!!💗 Perfect tutorial... thank you for explaining the process and your tips along the way!! I'm totally inspired to try this... and maybe with resin too!!💕 Blessings... Tracy
Thank you for your tutorial. I'm going through rough time and want & need to take my mind off of unexpected traumatic event... it has been almost a year and nothing much really helps... always appreciated art..and your work particularly is so calming.. I'm not sure when i will actually start one of my own project.. but really enjoyed your work. God bless you.
Thanks for this. It’s great to see yr tutorials. I used to watch a couple of years ago but then they seemed to disappear. ..I’ve just started to do alcohol inks but I’m not too good yet! Linda in England
Another beautiful project. Thank you for the tutorial, Gabrielle! I love watching your creative process. You make me feel more confident in my designs. I have all my supplies, now I need a day to play and watch this tutorial over and over again! Thank you for sharing, Gabriella.
Go for it Jennifer! I know what you mean though, sometimes it's hard to make the time to play...but we all need that creative time to feel happy right?
Puro arte al poder !! Me gustaría que se tradujera al español todo lo que explicas , para así conocer más las maravillosas obras que realizas con estas magníficas herramientas , 😍😍
It is the first time that I have seen your art and I must state that your creativity and presentation are outstanding. I can see that you have a strong following and it will be my pleasure to add my name to that long list of wonderful people who are enjoying your kindness in sharing your talents and your obvious creativity. Kindest regards Glenn Zemdegs, Toronto
Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us. I am new to alcohol link and this is so inspiring it wants me to just keep practicing more. Catcher I enjoy your style the light areas with a deeper focal point in the center
i’m blown away …you’re an amazing artist i’m sooo happy i found your channel:) do you hang these paintings behind glass? and do you apply any kind of finishing or once dry they are wall ready? (in case you’re wondering i’m totally new )
this is one of the best explanations I've heard of the HOW and WHY to do certain movements with the alcohol...thank you! :) I love your work. I would love to do more alcohol inks on my channel, but I have trouble with the vapors...and feel claustrophobic with the mask on. lol But I'm in love with the results. I love your beautiful art!
Thanks Heather, I guess I must be less sensitive than others because I don't even notice fumes, but I hear many are effected. I guess the best thing I can recommend is to try working outside (in good weather of course)😊
Really nice to have you back, Gabrelle! Missed you! Nice tutorial, although I have yet to really sit down and use my alcohol inks like this. Hope you are doing well these days.
Simply done, and BEATIFULY PRESENTED. THANKS FOR SHARING, AND PRAY YOU KEEP FEELING HEALTHLY. JUST ONE QUESTION, THE GOLD OR COPPER, COLOR IS IT A MIX, OF MICA WITH ? OR WHICH COLOR.
Love your work Gabrielle and your teaching style. Very thorough in your explanations. Could you please tell me what wattage your dryer is? Mine seems way too powerful and difficult to control. But ai am new at this and it may just be me!
So beautiful and elegant thank you for the tutorial...I will give it a go I'm New to this, can you use another type of paper if you want to do a large painting? Looking forward to your next video.
Absolutely beautiful !!!! Do you know if these alcohol inks can be applied to a dried smooth surface of either latex or acrylic paint ? Keep them coming !!!!!
Thank you for sharing. The final product is beautiful. Do you sell your work? If so, framed? Made into a card? etc. How do you decide what to charge? I’m thinking about trying this and am curious about being self-employed.
How wonderful and soooo poetic!!!! I've never tryed doing alcohol inks. what kind of paper is needed? i'm a fashion illustrator so I'm familier with the markers (Winsor&Newton). would love to try it. can you reffare me to tutorial videos? Thanks so much
I wanted to add: My next video is going to be a mixed media piece - and you are one of the main inspirations for me moving into mixed media from acrylic painting. :) I was recommended by Myriams Nature to check out your channel, and I'm so glad I did. :)
Just beautiful. In paint pouring they put something in it that makes “cells.” Is it possible to create that with alcohol inks? This project you did would be beautiful framed on a wall. You could sell these they are so gorgeous. Also is there some kind of preservative you could put on or would glass over top be the only way? Sorry for all the questions but I’m so intrigued!
this is soo beautiful and infirmative with tiny details that you have shared ! thank you so much ! if we do this on a canvas board, what primer should we do before applying the ink ? can an acrylic primer work for ink arts ?
Beautiful Gabrielle, I am always looking if you posted something,I really missed you and hope you are doing well 👍🌹🌺 and also hope to see more videos again. I just wanted to ask you, do you use the hairdryer on low heat or cold setting? Thank you and best wishes!😊
Hi Judith, I use it on low setting otherwise it blows too hard...I actually use an old one because it's not very strong....good for my purposes. Better yet would be a heat gun but you have to be sure to use heavy weight yupo in that case because it could melt or waffle if you use a heat gun on medium weight.
Gabrielle Pollacco Thank you Gabrielle, so you’re using it on low setting for blowing and low heat too? I use a kind of brush curler/dryer without the brush attachment of course, but on the cool setting it blows hard, so I end up using the low heat and blows less. Sometimes I feel like in-between would work better, because the cool blows too hard, the low heat doesn’t blow enough. But any new regular hairdryer would blow even harder, I don’t have an old one
Yes my low setting is warm, if I'm worried it's getting too hot I trigger the cooling button on the handle. A heat gun would probably be best because it doesn't blow hard but medium weight yupo can buckle/warp from that. If you get heavy weight yupo there is no problem using a heat gun.
Woow woowww wowww ! It’s so beautiful ! I really want to try it. But is there any larger glass paper I can used ? I mean if I want to create a nice picture for my living room - is there big size like this ??
I haven't but truthfully there is not a lot of waste, I only use a few drops of the ink, the run off is mostly inexpensive alcohol....might be interesting to dry the paper towel and see what I can make with it 👌
Hi! 😊 Sorry if by any chance you talked about this already, at some point, if you did, I didn't catch it! But, quick question if you could help me... Does alcohol (india) ink stain porcelain/ceramic palette? Or does it wipes away like watercolors? I'm about to buy my first inks and don't want to ruin my watercolor palette!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I had a great time following your instructions and created a beautiful piece. I tried to also do you Alcohol Ink flower tutorial...I think I need more practice. :) Please add more AI tutorials. Although I do not do crafting, I love watching your other videos. Beautiful and creative works!
Hi, for Gold effect, do you use Pinã Acrylic Gold Paint or it's a alcool ink gold ? I tried to use acrylic gold paint but it don't give me a nice result.
I use the low setting, the high blows too hard. You can also use a heat gun but then you would have to use heavy weight yupo paper otherwise the heat may warp the paper.
This is so pretty. I haven't done alcohol inks in a while because I got too frustrated. I was having a lot of trouble with my paper warping, but now I think it was the heat instead of the inks. Thanks Cindy! Nice to be creating again 🤗
This was great! Trimming the edges a valued tip as I struggle with the way the ink pools all the time.
Yes, I find it makes a difference to finished result 👌
Looks like acrylic pour but with inks love the result xx
so cool and beautiful.inks are always very hard to handle and control and give desire movement but your way to handle them is amazing .
I really like this technique with it fading at the edges. It's so good to see you here. Hope you will be back again soon and are doing well.

I'm wondering why the metallic is in a small cup. Do you dilute it with something? Beautiful work. Thanks so much.
The metallic ink comes in a big bottle without a dropper, so it just needs to be poured into a smaller cup. Hope this helps. :)
