Just as I predicted, that Medieval Army were obsolete, they were doomed before the attack. It was not really a battle it was more of a massacre.

When I watched this the first time, I said to myself, "Those warning signs are artillery registration points, I'll bet." (I have a military background in mortars, artillery's baby brother).
Then the rounds came down, and I just nodded to myself.
My only gripe with the artillery? Too much orange in the explosions. HE rounds have a little bit of orange, for a fraction of a second, but it's mostly just a shock wave then an expanding cloud of high-velocity debris, later followed by a smoke/dust cloud.
They could also have used WP rounds, but that's a white cloud of burning bits that refuse to be extinguished, and will just burn through a person/vehicle/structure.
Its still an anime, this isn't ment to be super realistic. Interesting to think about though.

Welcome to the wonderful world of artillery. In WW2 the majority of casualties were from some variety of artillery (field artillery, mortars, bombs from aircraft, or naval artillery). Honestly, this was a sanitized view; the aftermath of an artillery barrage on troops caught in the open like this would be UGLY. There would be pieces of bodies everywhere, those that survived would have been hit with shrapnel and bleeding out with holes in them, probably missing a limb or two (for clearing out infantry like this they would use fragmentary rounds... or incendiary... or thermobaric if they just felt like being mean). Frankly unless the artilley ran out of ammunition, very few of the primitive screwheads should have survived to make it within range of the even the tanks. The third advance at night wouldn't have even saved them, not with low light and IR spotters for the artillery.
In the real world an advance on a fortified position like this would have started with a heavy artillery bombardment of their own. They then would use APCs to protect against fragmentation, lots and lots of smoke to obscure their position, and on foot would advance under cover, and spread out. Counter battery fire as well air engagements would be extremely important. Of course the closest the fantasy troops could come to any of that is trebuchets and dragons, which isn't really going to cut it.
Artillery is the cornerstone of battle, it’s no wonder that after all these centuries artillery is still a deciding factor if not the deciding factor, a great example of this is Ukraine, where the Russians have a superior firepower advantage in terms of artillery. It won’t win a war by itself but it certainly helps.

League of Legends vs Call of Duty in a nutshell
League of Legends has some pretty overpowered characters that would make a tough challenge to any modern army (at the very least) though. Braum has that impenetrable shield + the durability and strength of a mountain. Aatrox has absurd healing factor. Lissandra can AOE Russia Winter everyone to death if they're not careful. Azir can just spam sand soldiers and send them into machine gun fire in WW1 style until they run out of ammo with no worries. Xerath has the same reach of an ICBM. Leona can summon a solar storm of God knows how large are the proportions. Zilean has unlimited Za Warudo time stop. Shadow Isles undead can't be killed or stopped via conventional means. Syndra is a human island buster (at minimum) who will just levitate every soldier and vehicle and stop any incoming bullet, rocket or artillery shell via telekinesis and after that I can't tell what horrible death she will choose for them. I am afraid of what Vel'Koz will do if he ever gets to incinerate scientists with enough combined knowledge about nukes to push the limits of said knowledge beyond our greatest record with the Tsar Bomba.
Don't even get me started with Aurelion Sol.

When you're behind in technology in Civilisation.
It's amazing how army tactics change in modern times:
-A shot of 228m (Which is from a Bow) is nothing compared to 1.6Km from a single Bullet.
-Horses are not as fast as a Car or as resistant as a Tank. Besides that it takes years to raise one correctly.
-The tactic of going head-on is considered Suicide.
-The Best Sheet Metal Shield doesn't resist a miserable Bullet
-An Arrow wound has to be perfect to overcome modern medical care, while a Direct Bullet is GG if it is only treated with herbs.
-No aerial creature surpasses an Attack Helicopter
-The medieval Traps and Ambushes are nothing compared to a barrage of Missiles and Gunners
Best of all, several Places consider that a war is more loss than gain for their Country.
Deaths, Businesses destroyed, possible protests, expenses to buy bullets and fuel, etc.
This being the last option when the enemy really wants war.
Mediavel army : we have 100 000 army, 5000 mage and 10 dragon..
